Like I said, I was wrecking blue ranks, I beat like half a dozen of them, like 5 of them back to back. Then I played the third dan guy, and got my shit pushed in twice and demoted, only to win the next 2 matches I played and be right back at 3rd Dan.

That shit repeated itself a few times before I made it to blue ranks. The ranking system is retarded, period.

no, she has good lows and a few gimicky mix ups which is going to get you easy wins and push you up in the ranks. if you are new you aren't going to be able to learn much against people who are way higher skilled then you are because you went up faster than you would normally if you had picked a non mishima character.

congratulations, you completely missed the point of my post which was to a new player having a hard time with combo and execution playing against an a.i who is cheating by reading your inputs and instant countering you is fucking stupid, because its going to get you into bad habits that are going to be hard to unlearn once you actually start caring about playing online. this is only going to make the game more hard then it needs to be when he could play casuals against real players and actually learn against a real player.

okay this is actually pretty easy to deal with, firstly its important to not get stressed or your heart racing when you get rushed down, most of the time they are going to hit mids, you have a few options.

1.) the moment the round starts you sidestep and backdash a few times or go in for a launcher string.

2.) BLOCK and jab punish. most of the time its easy to hit 1+2 after a blocked rush down.

3.) go on youtube lookup your characters lows and low combo starters if they have any, practice them in training and when the round starts and you start getting rushed down block mid, and instantly start up your lows a lot of the time the rush downs come from new players who aren't used to low punishing.

that is to complicated a question to answer, there are so many variables about what happens after a jab punish people could write a thesis on it.

honestly my advice is play it safe, play ultra defensive, rush down players have a very hard time when the match gets slowed down by blocking, jab punishes, and keep out lows. once you realize you can easily gain control of the flow of the match its much easier to deal with because rush downers have nothing but rushing and mash spamming, and once you control the flow you win.
