I recently starting playing a few weeks ago, and I'm enjoying myself. Just don't skip through dialogue you'll burn yourself out faster. The lore and characters are the only thing that makes this game worthwhile. The last 10 levels to 50 are a drag though.

Trials are composed of 12 people. Usually 2 tanks, 2 healers and 8 DPS and they are very mechanics heavy, especially since ESO's combat is action combat when dodging and blocking isn't determined by a stat but by your reflexes.

When you get into the game, get to lvl 10 and try out a dungeon. Those are real fun (even though you can access DLC dungeons I don't recommend them at all for new players, so watch out for that) and give you great experience to level up. Try them out and for a very light taste of what ESO's PvE is like, if you find them fun then Trials are even much more fun. The loot system everywhere is instanced to your character so there's no fighting for loot altough if someone gets a drop you want in a dungeon or trial it's tradeable for 2 hours, I believe.

use the provisioning passive for extra 20 minutes of ambrosia. do the dailies on vvardenfell and for the fighter's guild/undaunted, pop the ambrosia, turn the quests in, then go do the mages guild daily public dungeon. or queue for a daily random dungeon, that gives pretty good xp.

also, the main quest as well as the fighters and mages guild story quests give very good xp and not very long (Very Hard xp modifier): http://en.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Leveling

Hey, I'm a new player levelling a templar doing every quest that pops up, but I think I'm burning myself out doing everything I encounter on that character.

I'd like to start a nightblade to play as more of a solo-character geared towards farming and griding basically.,

I've been looking for videos of decent levelling builds, but many videos seems many months old.

What's the current levelling build for a nightblade to eat through content?
Been reading about stamina nightblades for aoe-grinding, is this viable without a bunch of stuff supplied by a main?

yeah a good way to avoid being burned out besides taking breaks is to only do quests that makes sense for that Char to do.

As for Stamina NB they can still do crazy AoE clearing with DW Skills and Bow Skills

Yeah, slot some fighter guild skills for the passives and use surprise attack for the debuff.
Steel tornado and power extraction are nice for AOE trash kills and using relentless focus gets you the minor berserk.
If it's really only for mob grinding then try and slot both extraction and tornado, use the power first for the buff and then go to town with the tornado.
Deadly cloak got a nice buff and mirage is also good for mitigating incoming damage.
Nightblade is really good right now, Jeckll has a leveling guide for good skills and equipment or you can check out gilliam's leveling guide on deltias site, though the important thing is to have 1 of each class skill and a DW and your secondary on bar at once.

I think you messed up your sentence there.

Anyway all three skills are useful. Uppercut morphs into wrecking blow which gives you a buff making your next attack do 20% more damage, on top of doing good damage itself. It can also morph into dizzying swing which is better of pvp

Cleave is a great skill, it can morph into brawler that gives you a damage shield on use that increases the more enemies you hit. It makes clearing large trash packs safe and effective.

Reverse slash is your execute and its kind of unique. It really doesnt do more dps than wrecking blow, but its cheaper stamina cost makes it useful for that on its own. Its morphs are executioner that does a little more damage, and reverse slice which transforms it into a very useful aoe ability. Reverse slice is very strong in pve. Executioner is really not all that great but its useful in pvp because un like wrecking blow/dizzying swing that has a fairly long animation its much faster making it more usable on the move

Just use mauls, account for the penetration cap.

Most groups are magicka based these days so you can really only count on -7k physical resist.

18k is your target, the way the calculation works is

-7k from debuffs (breach and crushing), leaving 11k left.

11k - 20% from the maul passive, which is -2.2k

This leaves 8.8

-5100 from sharp, 3.7 remains.

Use sprigans or CP to get to the cap.


Sword will indeed be a little better but in the end mauls just look better so just go with what looks cool.

Certain slots only get partial part of a full enchant. They are considered "small" items like gloves/belt/boots/shoulders. The original enchant was actually better quality than the one you applied.

There's auto loot in the settings, but it can get you into trouble, like if you want to check a container to see if there is anything worth stealing before you go stealth and try.

Besides that, harvest maps. When you harvest a node (cloth/metal/wood/alchemy), water, fishing location, thieves guild lock box, heavy sack, or chest it marks a pin on your map so you can find the location again.

I get high 60's outdoors to a stable 100 indoors in PvE
As soon as i go to Cyrodiil Not in combat my fps is high 40's or lower. IN combat it drops to the teens. Lowest I've seen was 12.

There's a few dungeons that can be tough for newer players. Usually, as a healer, it's ones like Spindlecluth II where a boss has a time limit and low level damage dealers without a lot of Skills struggle to do enough damage.

In those cases though, if it's for the random daily, we'll just queue again with the group for a different random dungeon since only a few can't be beaten by just keeping everyone alive long enough to kill everything.

Because when anyone talks about procs sets they literally mean only the OT and SoTH proc sets that are direct dmg, hell if you actually mentioned reactive, alchemist, ect most people would respond like "o yeah forgot about them" "didn't even consider them as procs" Before them patches the only direct dmg proc set was skoria and that was only considered good because it was only set that actually caused it own dmg, not because it did good dmg or had a good proc chance. We literally went from 1 set that did like 5k dmg with 5% proc on dots with a cooldown to 100% chance every 4 seconds 6k dmg or 50% chance with 4k dmg and strongest slow EVER TO BE PUT IN THE GAME that last 8 seconds with 4 second fucking cooldown.

From what I gather they changed it so that dual wield always drop in pairs. Not sure if they are the same type of item, as I've only had one dual wield drop and they were axes. Twohanded weapons, staves, and bows drop alone. Not sure about one hand and shield, if they drop in a pair like the dual wield or not, someone else here will have a better understanding than I do.

Seems Cyrodil is very CPU intensive. I have better graphics card and more RAM, but an older i5 clocked a bit higher. I experience the same issues, it happens to nearly everyone as far as I can tell.

If you enabled the fancy graphics in your .ini I find it works to set them back to defaults when you intend to do Cyrodiil stuff, then turn particles totally the fuck off.
