Blockade is pretty much non-existence in Vicky2. It's only serve to rise war exhaustion and nothing else. I want the game to properly simulate blockade by restricting trade and good flow and make the pop starve. Also it's useful for crisis and of course war. I just tried out HoI4 because I needed my WW2 fix and HoI3 is a trainwreck that I've already spent too much time on, and after playing a few hours I'm already mad as fuck over the inability of the AI to do anything at all.

Is there a mod that makes it feasible to simply control individual units assigned to an army? Maybe puts the counters back in? Manually commanding individual units is the only way I've been able to even feel like I'm actually playing a game rather than watching my computer play it, let alone do well at it. The way the interface works now, it's too much of a pain to do.

Or maybe a mod that actually lets me implement a strategy that amounts to more than telling an army to advance to a line in an unspecified manner.

You already can control them individually lad. If you still want the planning bonus just draw an offensive plan but never execute it/delete it. The bonus will remain and decay at the normal rate it usually does.

Probably not but the AI at least defends along an offensive front pretty well. I usually just micro part of a front line and let the AI defend the rest of it and it works decently.
It's amazing how paradox wastes so much time on the retarded battle plan system and doesn't even let you do simple stuff like specify what part of the front line to push and what part not to (for instance if you have a huge front and wanna push only through a small part that doesn't have a river crossing the battle plan will almost always still involve pushing the entire fucking front line through the midde).

Stellaris was a joke. HoI4 is the worst trash ever produced. EU4 was the same at launch and barely playable now with all 200$ of DLCs and modded to the death.

Like every hobby, GS was taken over by merchants and women and democratized. Tis truly the end times coming.

I still remember the story of that lead quest designer from Morrowind, who wrote EVERY quest development of the game. Who then for Oblivion opened the field for a multitude of diverse writers to each put a little piece of what they like in quests and he was delegated to overseeing the meshing of putting those ``gems'' together. Well, we all know which of the two games is the more interesting/fleshed out/tight and consistent..

Noticed a bug with HPM. While the Ottoman Empire does get a CB to annex Senussi, the CB only works on one state uncivs, and Senussi has two states, thus meaning the ottoman empire can't annex it.

I unironically played two whole games as proper Madagascar without doing anything but this (and conquering the nearby Indian Ocean islands plus Zanzibar island), it was boring indeed bit it's also interesting in its own way. Ended up even getting some immigrants (litetally all of them being either French, Russian or Chinese) during a Great War in one of them.
The actual question, in my opinion, is if it's better to conquer them while still an unciv or colonize them as soon as you westernize.
