Daily reminder that the devs design cards 6 months prior to the release. They designed forest's new legendary around ptp, a deck that hasn't seen any serious usage in forever. They also said stuff like pic related and blood moon would be the defining power cards of this expansion. They would have been 100% correct if this was back in standard or DE.
They will start to release new card leaks starting within the next 3 weeks and that new set would have been designed around the start of Bahamut and end of DE.

I haven't posted any of my polls in a while, and this will be the last one for me. I will no longer be visiting these threads as I'm quitting the game. I was attracted to the game because of the F2P options and avoidance of RNG, but Cygames has chosen to create a meta that is dominated by overpowered decks with little interactivity for months on end. Threads are more and more negative. My last straw was the patch in April coming with no mention of any metagame balance issues. I could better spend my time with other games, my friends and family, studying, or work, so that's what I'll be doing.

I hope I made the threads more fun with my polls. I was also the creator of the card collection tracker in the pastebin, so that will no longer be updated with new cards unless someone takes it over. In my next post I'll include a list of all my polls, for fun. (Some of the Luna numbers are inaccurate because spammers tried to ruin the polls.) I hope you all enjoy the rest of the time you spend with this game.

The card is bad because it can not be on board early (and even if it did it is still is just a 4/5 ward), continues to have no effect mid and gets removed easily late. But yeah, at some point you'll get the amulet out versus Bolt Forest despite the ladder being 50% Shadow/Dragon.

How do some cards hurt their own leaders?

Sure they will, people bandwagon to the top tier decks, and that has a dramatic effect on the success of other decks. Just look at Daria, just last expansion everyone judged cards based on how they'd do against Daria, and Dragoncraft was seen as a meme only getting played because it happened to be good against Daria, but now that Dragoncraft's win rate increased by 5%, it became hugely popular and thus Daria became rarely played, even though it still does well against plenty of other decks. It's not alwasy about massive powercreeps and eliminating plays. Playrate for dragon will drop if it doesn't do well against something that proves popular in a meta (for example, an enhanced Nep deck with better banish immunity or other deck that constantly kills followers regardless of size)

And who's to say there won't be more ways to protect your cards including amulet from field nukes? We already got Captain Lecia and Support Cannon this expansion after all and it could be a Swordcrat thing, to help push permanent amulet as part of the swordcraft identity
