I think Solas genuinely never cared about style, not even when he was an Evanuris. He is the only Evanuris who isn't described with humanoid connotations: Andruil wore armors, Ghilan'nain had white hair, Elgar'nan a stern and frowning face. Dorian is pretty much confirmed being in the game as a companion, think of him as the new Varric. We are in Tevinter, after all, and he has to face both the Qunari invasion and the elven uprising.
Also he was loved by the fans and isn't nowhere as bad as some people like to think. He was a cool bro.
Harding literally appears next to Cassandra and Leliana at the end of Trespasser. That was like the new War Table with the new advisors and Laidlaw and Weekes said on twitter that they would love to use her as a companion, "should we ever make a new game, of course!".
And no, Thessa is pretty much confirmed to be lesbian, she has a relationship with Charter in the comics. Marius is straight and was with Calpernia, but she betrayed him, so. Also we don't know if the Inquisitor is gonna be the main protagonist again, they could do something like ME2 where your past romance is brought along and the other companions can't be romanced.

Thanks for clearing up on the magekiller stuff though. I suppose they wouldn't be terrible, but I just remember their designs being insanely boring. Marius looks like any typical action hero.

I agree, this is his chance to shine and finally fix his country like he promised to do. But Tevinter is in deep shit right now, so it would make sense for him to ask for help, he can't do everything alone. His father's enemies will try to stop him and his new faction, too, so all the more reason to be cautious and have allies.
I hope they will make Marius and Thessa more interesting. Marius' main characteristic is to be a quiet, naive hero who always fights to avoid thinking about his problems, while Thessa is more cheerful.

Marius and Thessa have the bases at least, I guess. It could be interesting to have characters that know each other before they meet the PC anyway.
I just don't really like almost anything about the dwarves. They feel removed from the lore, and I don't think their lore is that interesting. We only get small glimpses in codex readings and characters of what could be and it never really grabbed my attention aside from Sigrun.
If shit hits the fan in DA4 and suddenly Solas is surprised with hundreds of thousands of mages suddenly crawling out of the Earth to steamroll Thedas for the Undertaker and we actually get some lore about them I think I could forgive dwarves. But since they seem to be focusing on the elves, I'd really rather they do one or the other.
I alsodespise their appearance. Every game they move more towards midget humans. A tall dwarf would be 100% indistinguishable from a normal human. Elves and Qunari have inherent sex appeal but Dwarves have absolutely none, and don't even have any novelty. At least elves are twinky and we're even robbed of that with buff Solas.

I really do think that in a lot of ways the Bioware team is just very lucky. Gaider knows how to start a setting but not write a story for it, and Weekes does. Plus he seems to know that what the series needs is more roleplay/story and less open world, which is kinda nice.
Hopefully Bioware hasn't assassinated themselves with Andromeda and the new IP but I think it'll be fine

Andromeda was made by the Montreal team, the rest of the company is still strong and alive (and Andromeda is even selling fine, so the Montreal guys aren't risking anything).
The DA team is now faring much better: Weekes' novels are quite enjoyable and his characters are much varied than Gaider's. Plus he is a big fan of roleplaying and said multiple times how a game should be fun and, if it isn't, then the gameplay should be changed.
