This general doesn't need to include other games, it's been thriving on just Rainbow 6 for over a year now. There's no lack of posters to drum up conversation. If this game stopped receiving support after Year 2 is finished and people started to move on, threads 404 before bump limit, etc., it would be a good time to consider merging with other games. As it stands there's much to discuss in this game currently and into the foreseeable future.

In the case of /xcg/ they're a general for a single player game, it'll be at least four more years until they get another game in their series. There's only so much to talk about for just the XCOM series so it makes sense to include other turn based alien strategy games as they'll have a substantial audience overlap.
As for this proposed change, I don't see a common audience forming. Personally, I enjoy R6 and SWAT 4 but have absolutely zero interest in other tactical shooters. They might be the same genre, but the games are far too different from each other to be lumped together. It's like going into /poeg/ and trying to force it to become a general for all arpgs.

If you really want a tactical shooter general to discuss other games, then try your hand at creating a separate one. If it doesn't survive then you'll find out the reason why it doesn't already exist.

One of the things I absolutely hate about /r6g/ is that at every level of discussion, we have some sort of smug shitposters who derail everything. We already have operators who dominate the defender line up or attacker line up. This happens all the time and it takes forever to fix. We have also observed buffs that don't do this. There are also probably ways to buff him that won't make him a God and will increase his viability in lower levels of play. Even giving him an extra door would probably not do much in the grand scheme of things but would give him a little bit more of the ability to seal off adjacent rooms.

Probably? Soccer is a huge spectator sport with high levels of play and athleticism involved, and Chess has been proven, and agreed, to be heavily memorization based + stale in the "meta" due to the limited amount of ways games can manifest
