I wouldn't say they're necessary, but they definitely help. The SSB in particular being instant and keeping that instant status is pretty great, and the BSB has a nice ATK/DEF break that stacks with other breaks so they definitely compliment his general builds.

If you have enough mithril to pull without killing what you might pull later, I'd at least be moderately interested in getting them. Plus banner 2 is kind of sexy so it might be my personal bias talking slightly.

Mostly reverse walls, Mustadio's Penta Break and Marach's massive MAG/RES breaks are fantastic. Really almost everything is in this category and those tend to rock for higher level content, alongside Gaff's Refresh SSB and you just have a very tight banner worth putting in to, provided you don't have too many dupes.

If you're on the fence about pulling on Tactics, the main things from this one that won't return in the next Tactics event are Ramza's USB and TG Cid stuff besides his SSB.

Pretty good, actually. Her BSB essentially functions as a secondary Raines, making her a fantastic support to a mage team. Her RM's paint her as using Witch skills a lot but her actual magic damage is rather high even without that and her burst commands are really strong. With that large skill set she can run both offense and support at the same time, with an offensive magic skill and a wall of your choice, probably physical to compliment the burst's raise of RES.

To add something though, she's one of those who can't use wrath, so without a weakness to hit she'll have trouble filling her SB bar. I guess pairing her with someone that has lightning imperil would be ideal, but you could always set her up with other elements if you have someone else you could use with an imperil.

Dances are quite rare, if she has access to multibreak, that's pretty sweet, especially if you lack Mustadio's Hyper Break SSB (or break SBs in general) and don't use Tyro.

For imperil lightning we just had FFIII-2 with Desch's SSB (otherwise the upconing XIII-1 banner has Lightning's BSB2 for it, but that's obviously phys), and he can Wrath it - meaning you can build gauges and then go full +3 imperils.
Using AS/BF seems a bit of a waste on a mage, but I guess depening on the situation it's... serviceable?

You can always get a Snow or Lightning or any other units that hit many many times a times. Twinlance helps with that if you got it.

Alternatively, two Setzers with DW/Second Knife using Gamble Attack builds it up acceptably fast. Youre probly gonna spend more turns just waiting for LB gauges to fill and recovering/stabilizing/defending from his threshold attacks than building esper gauge.

There are several approaches, all of which can be used together.

>1. Garnet/Rydia
These units have LBs that can fill the gauge, and Garnet has innate High Tide to help fill it faster.
Both are unchristly squishy, so it can be tough to swing in any serious content. You can use an entruster like Bartz to help this even more.

>2. Counter Tank Meta
Units like Snow or Cecil with a Black Belt can counter each physical attack on them with a full drop check attack of their own. This means you have an insane chance of dropping orbs via counters, because many bosses strike the same unit multiple times (multiple counters).
Snow is basically built for this, it's his one niche as a unit. Other tanks can sorta fill the role, though, and the more counters the merrier.

>3. DW/Twin Lance
More hits means more orbs.
This also serves as a reminder that regular attacks have far more drop chance than abilities.
Abilities have only one chance per hit, but normal attacks have ~12

Any tips on FFXV? I just can't seem to get the hang of it. I seem to be getting hit nonstop especially since I got the skill (forgot what it's called) that allows me to constantly attack in mid air.

Do you gents know if the second tactics banner has any breaker soul breaks? I'm still trying for Lion as I'd very much like a breaker BSB, but the second Tactics banner drops exactly as XI's ends. I see in the list XII is after Tactics and that Fran has a BSB there. All she ever does is breaking so her BSB is probably breaker stuff too, right? I don't think I can reach 50 myth for another XI, so maybe I should wait until XII for a 50 instead of dropping 15s in what's left of XI?

No. You'll want to hit the PDF to be clearer on these things, debuffs and buffs have an "ID", repeated IDs don't stack, they will get overwritten. The general, much simpler thumbrule is that if it affects multiple things at once, it's a different ID. For example, those two only count as Attack Down. If you find something with Attack Down AND Mag Down, it'll stack with either of those. This is why Fullbreak if valuable, even though it's a Break-level, it does all four stats, stacking with the individual Breakdowns.

TL;DR: Check the PDF for this shit, those break the same one stat, so no.

Olive only gets a maximum 175% boost to her equipment attack, but she can get a 195% boost to her base if you build her with percentage instead.
HOWEVER. Her base attack is lower than the amount of attack added by equipment, so it's still more effective to build her for doublehand (by about 100 ATK points)

He's pretty decent. You're not going to miss much for not being able to bring full break since he can do so much with his SSB hyper break and BSB. You'd just have to put an offensive breakdown on one slot and wrath on the other. I don't think it would be worth it without both of those, though. The other problem is that he is going to be spending most of his time on wrath, which is kind of boring.

Agrias is up to +30 mastery attack with this (SSB1, SSB2, BSB), the Relm thing is "what do I need this for when I have Asylum", Reno's not too bad (I think they rejiggered his skillset to "actual hybrid"), and Firion's flat-out one of the most versatile characters in the game if you feel like expending motes on him.
