Depending on the codebase, it could take anything from just redoing the atmospherics system (which is still a pain in the ass), to redoing entire departments so they're vetted properly for /vg/ to prevent things like assistants being able to weld into medbay or shit like that. Along with that you also have to take tally of what differences there are in the codebase you're porting from, and if there's anything essential that will be missing from the map, like medical or security supplies, or necessary department items that are required for a department to function correctly.

It's a pain in the ass, honestly, but it's not hard; just tedious.

Basically, because of code differences you often have to entirely remap the piping, unfuck disposals, and go through room by room replacing broken items as a result of changed code locations to the point that pretty much you're just scooping up the skeleton of the map and mapping it yourself.

As for other maps. We've had taxi and bus which suffered from major feature loss and didn't really have the supplies or space to carry out the most needed function in its bracket. xboxheuehuehuege was simply not finished. Nobody's beating down the door to resprite ladders and the bay thing is an entire function we don't have.
