I want to make them common, but not to the point that every noise I hear in caverns is from a dungeon. Enough that Saddles won't take hours of exploration or rushing to a nether stronghold to find.

The default is 7, I think I might try 25 and see how often I'm bumping into one on a regular exploration.

I'm also looking to make biomes a little more interesting. I don't want to travel thousands of blocks only to have ever seen 3-4 different biomes. But I also would like to have villages appear somewhere around 1 every 1,000 blocks, which might be thwarted by making biomes denser.

seriously though, i can see not wanting to join when they usually get to endgame quickly on a normal pack, but on this one everyone would have to painstakingly search for new rare materials separately to build entire levels of machines you will just throw away once you get better ones.
why not just play it on single player if you don't want to work together? you never have to worry about the world resetting, or not accessing it when it is offline.

As recently as a year ago I tried to find strongholds using the eye of ender method but eventually I got fed up, and nowadays I just look up the location for a seed.

Similar to how the last enderman farm I manually built was over a year ago. Thank god for mcedit schematics.

I rely on big reactors because it's a quick and easy way to generate power. I could set up a charcoal to boiler system, or a lava dynamo system, or spam a bunch of wind turbines, but I've done them before, and why invest the effort for the same end-goal if the effort isn't interesting?

I love TFC, but I'm keenly aware of the fact that it's simply a substitute for things I know I'll never be able to actually do, and a way to assuage my autism that stems from being unable to make what feels like tangible progress in my actual life.

Knowing that an absolute idiot created this mod and then abandoned it to work on something easier that would game him more notoriety and sloppy blowjobs from 'codegirl' whores genuinely torments me, as I know that the mod will probably never be finished, or even taken to a reasonable ending point. The single mod to overhaul the game and make it more difficult and satisfying for me must of course be the one abandoned by its creator for being too much of a burden. basically, after Dunkleostus left Bioxx more or less halted development on TFC and brought on a new second named Kittychanley. She is everything Dunk was not, that is to say, a mindless sycophant. This, along with the TFC forums being gradually filled over the last year and a half with cocksuckers who are reddit-tier in their devotion to their online god who can do no wrong, has resulted in a Bioxx that is no longer constrained by common sense, reason, or what people actually want
He was alway 'vision' driven, but now he's developing TFC2 as a completely retarded, almost entire discrete mod from TFC that will follow a kind of 'battle island' world generation, replace the top tier metals with randomly generated alloys every spawn, and has eliminated the TFC farming/cooking system in lieu of using Pam's Harvestcraft, aka Bloat: The Mod. He initially said he would use this as a kind of stop-gap, but has recently decided that he will keep it and try to incorporate other mods into TFC where he can to "save myself the strain" of doing it himself

he had such a good idea and such a good foundation, and he's taking it completely off the rails because no one can tell him he's retarded in his hugbox, and even fewer people can criticize what I can only assume is his internet girlfriend. I took my eye off shit for a year, and when I came back, it was in ruins and being abandoned for 'muh vision' and because developing his own mod was so hard he'd rather start all over and do something completely different, when the faggot's got an entire community begging to make models and sprites for him for FREE. it's fucking cancer and I hate it, but I'm too busy to learn Java myself or I'd quit bitching and rectify this grievous fucking garbage at once

Modders are really bad at making gameplay experiences that push you forward. They just leave a string of loosely scattered breadcrumbs and hope you follow them.

You can place items from other mods without it. What I meant was for mods that want to react differently depending on whether it was placed by a player or by automation.

I played on a server once that used a fixed map that I really liked with 8 or so wizard-like towers and some other hidden secrets scattered throughout the land, but I can't remember the name of it.

Something like that is what I'm looking for, that gives a reason to explore.

Well, guy is a fencing guy with very fast attack rate, so you're supposed to counter his attacks. He occasionally jumps at you to run over your guard and his strategy is to move around you until he sees an opening. Also he does a ton of damage and wrecks any shield pretty fast so either you git gud fast or you'll be forced to dodge him to win the fight.

I wanted something that takes a bit more effort than ExU's easy mode drums and I didn't want Railcraft, so I found that mod while taking a look around. And then I only noticed the true nature of the mod when I started setting up the auto-crafting setup for it.
At least the tanks themselves are pretty good, 128 buckets per air space inside the tank is much better than Railcraft's steel tanks.

Both Pressure Pipes and EnderTech's tanks can be configured to be that, or more, or less as you choose.
Though ETech's multiplies or whatever as it gets bigger.

They need the same mods (and the same configs, if you've changed them).

Option 1: The forge installer has an "install client" option, which will create a Forge profile in the vanilla launcher. Running that profile will create a mods folder inside their minecraft folder, which you can drop mods in.

Option 2: Use MultiMC as your launcher. Create a new instance, click 'install forge', then drop mods in the mods tab. Most people here use MultiMC because it makes it easy to keep track of a lot of modpacks and automates setting up new game directories. There's also some way to make a zip of your modpack that people can just import into MultiMC, but I've never done that.

EnderIO Additions has a loot recycler.

Several mods (including TiCon) let you crush or melt down fully repaired armor for ingots. You can craft the drops together to repair, or use something like a EvilCraft Blood Chest or ActuallyAdditions Item Repairer.

With Thaumcraft, you can melt down even damaged armor and weapons for essentia, and then turn the essentia into iron and gold using nugget duplication.

For some reason platforming, even the absolutely hardcore parts were a piece of cake and I got them right on my first attempt, but damn, those mobs are fucking dangerous.
I died 7 times just to clear the first 3 areas... and that getting all the items and cool stuff.

I made it to level 4, but then a random bug that never had happened before came out of nowhere and now all of my mobs are invulnerable, but I'm not.

What pisses me off is that this has never happened before. As it is now the game is fucked and I need to find a way to fix this if anybody ever wants to beat this game.

If anyone knows, I was using M&B battlegear, an enchanted shield with a dagger.

Also, why is Minecraft's repairing system so retarded? Hope I can still deliver, folks.

I backed up the whole thing before starting the playtest, everything is fine. The map is "ready" to be played. But that bug is troublesome. Let's hope it doesn't happen again or at least that it can be fixed. IF you're at the final boss and suddenly everything becomes invulnerable it will seriously suck.

No. MC has a dirge of content that encourages exploration, at least compared to other types of mods. There ARE mods for exploration, but it's mostly 'see a lot of the same set peices/explore the same 10 dungeons with middling loot and unchallenging enemies' stuff. Also, the way biomes work in this game, you see one of any biome, you've seen all of that biome. Even with mods, this is still an issue.

Apparently it's a known bug, given how there's an open issue in the Github tracker for that mod. Sadly the author is most likely kill so he'll never fix it.
At least the rest of the mod is working properly, the LaserPlus is fucking amazing if you're already working with BC andthe QuarryPlus itself is a quarry with more options (but still nothing as MAWPC as literally every alternative from other mods dear fuck).

Mojang gave up on pregen structures back when Notch was still in charge. It's why villages are shit and Mojang still hasn't fixed them. They just can't. Notch's spaghetti code rejects any attempt to fix them.

Even mods devoted to pregen structures (RC, Ruins, Roguelike, etc) constantly fuck up. It's just an aspect of Minecraft you get used to after a while.

Castlefag. Speedrun complete. Skipped a few areas and went straight for the final boss. I made it a bit easier because holy shit that's too brutal. I will explore a few more areas, kill a few more bosses and do the whole DLC castle. I guess it should be ready in 2 days. 3 at most.

I'll add some potions and an extra shop to help you on your way to the top to balance the whole thing. and make some mobs a bit easier.

Castlefag again with tonight's report:

Finished 100% castle run (kinda) and DLC castle. Regular castle is meh compared to the DLC I think, but still a fun run because of the bosses. Also, DLC bad ending final boss is pretty much pic related, but had fun getting the hang of it.

Just need to change a few things, link dialogs properly and everything should be nice and ready. I'll spend tomorrow fixing bugs and the last day linking quests properly. Hope all goes well.

The old musicfag who worked for the map told me I could use some of his songs in-game. I guess I could try to implement them before the release.
