MW and GMW are both worse than resin even with 20 int, they should be beneath literally everything. In contrast, flame arc added 95 fire damage on my astora twink which had 10/12 int/fai and a less than half upgraded flame, plus flame arc has extra duration, so it's at least less shit than the magic weapon spells. Blessed weapon is also shit compared to the base regen miracle you can use in it's place. BW adds 45 HP and some damage, whereas replenishment gives 300 hp. You need BW's bonus to equate to 255 damage if you want it to match its competitor. For a 7.5% bonus to equate to a 255 damage addition, you need to already be capable of doing 3400 damage over the course of 45 seconds without the buff. That's tantamount to killing three people. I guess if you turn a three-hit kill into a one-stunlock kill with blessed weapon, the amount of enemy healing you preemptively could cut off might make it worth it, but that's banking off of a lot of coincidence. And this is all ignoring the fact that replenishment can just be stacked with resin to bring up the damage, BW really shouldn't be above any regen miracle.

I'd raise black serpent at least into high tier. I'd also lower hidden weapon and raise magic shield. Pretty okay list though, the buffs are all I find to be really "objectively" off.

Ds1 was chaos blade R1 and roll backwards, Ds3 is running pokes (as far as light weapons go). All that's been reversed is the fact that now the person who's been hit actually gets stunned. Beforehand, the person who swing first was locking themselves into an animation while the person being struck was free to do as they please. Now the person being struck is locked into a hitstun animation, so they aren't given a head start on the next exchange just for losing the previous one, and since the attacker's attack animation ends before their target's hitstun animation, they can keep up momentum after landing a blow. The lack of poise rewards aggressive play in light vs light duels.

That's only if you wiff completely; if you at least force a roll, your opponent will typically have more recovery than you. Thus this only applies applies to slow heavy weapons players who throw out bait swings, and you'd get everything you're asking for by just giving them more hyperarmor frames during their recovery. There's no reason to enable full poise for what you're asking about. On most of them it would make literally zero difference even if they had infinite poise because you just trade their R1 for a backstab during their endlag, which won't get poised through either way. It's a moveset problem, not a poise problem.

You don't even need to do that, with modern shader setups, namely PBR, all the colouring material stuff is done in engine anyway not part of a texture, these days they only use textures as part of grunge masks within the materials. They could literally have an ingame variable just change any material colour parameter on anything if they wanted to in a PBR setup. DaS3's engine is still very outdated. Funny, because I thought BB's shader system looked more modern to me at the time.

What they need to actually do is hurry up and use a good engine. For what DaS3 looks like, it runs pretty fucking bad.

They should use that engine that shitty sjew Horizon game uses, since that's actually really good and they might actually have a chance to get 60fps on a console with that one since Kojima is apparently doing it.

Not really sure? Most of the rapierfags I fought in DS1 also used shields, so poise definitely wasn't "nessecary" for them to be good since they would avoid getting hit a lot anyway. Though if shields weren't viable, then poise might have done an okay job at taking their place. Or not. Ultimately you'd be better off with a falchion if you were just trying to be a poise-lawnmower.

Either way it isn't worth bringing in Ds1 poise because rapiers are already lowkey pretty good in 3 when used in conjunction with a crossbow. Everyone complaining about people spamming lightning arrows then throwing out a quick attack after their opponent rolls up seriously needs to look at avelyn+estoc builds. (Though prepare to get fucked by shields if you try it.)

There's no concrete proof of this but I dig the theory that Ashes and Ringed City were originally meant to be one big DLC before Namco forced From to make two resulting in Ashes being cut as its own thing. I was not trying to imply that rapier or dagger would be god tier but they would habe the option of poise back stabs or maybe some new tech that doesn't exist yet like poise tank into a weapon art. Like someone with a dagger or rapier could just walk through a katana r1 and do whatever.

And it wouldn't change anything because people with big weapons could do the same to almost anything. May even just r2 once you hit r1 or fish for back stabs as well.

The fact that I can still safely strike and dodge against an enemy who does not flinch AND that I can backstab through their attacks to force them to flinch objectively proves that no amount of poise would make a difference in those cases. It isn't as though any more poise could make him flinch even less (because he already isn't flinching at all), nor is it the case that any amount of poise could make him attack through a backstab (because poise doesn't let you go through backstabs). Those scenarios will not be helped by poise, the only ones remaining are trades and whiffs. Trades will be the same either way because you have hyperarmor active at the moment, so there's no difference there either. That leaves only whiffs.
