Not entirely certain but I'm thinking of maybe using my +Attack +1 Leo, he could handle the knight and the red mage as well as dish out good damage to Zephiel. Azura is absolutely vital although Nino might work better with Draw Back, or hell I'll just use Nino and Azura.

Nino can kill the blues, Leo handles red mage and supports damage. Azura can duel Zephiel for a bit, for last spot I'm not entirely sure, maybe a buffbot.

Avoid FEs 1 through 3 because the remakes are that much better, QoL-wise, and also add content. To actually answer your question: it depends on how you feel about the other games. So I'm on the final chapter of awakening and I need to say, this game is weak, I've found myself only using 7-8 characters, maybe less because they're all just so unlikeable and their designs are horrible, truly it doesn't matter who you use as you can just continually reclass with the second seals until you max every stat, there's no skill required just level who ever you want whenever you want, same can be said for sacred stones but atleast the characters were good, I can see why a lot of people don't like it, Lucina plays quite a small role so I don't see how she's became popular at all, it's a good RPG simulator but it's not a good FE game.
