Also, is the real of Steel Protection unfucked in PvP now? Is it worth carrying a +3 ring to cut down on damage taken? Any help is greatly appreciated.

When will people that use Oolacile and New Londo as examples of the Age of Dark actually being shit realize that the Abyss is not the exact same thing as Dark?
They're related, sure, but I always thought Abyss was either from a corruption/overabundance of Humanity or the extreme version of Dark.

The only thing that makes this confusing is that TRC implies that the Abyss has always been around and "early men" were closely involved with it, unless the DS1 Manus Abyss and base game Abyss are two completely different things.

The Deep isn't the Abyss though, I think. I think the Deep is more "water" to the Abyss' "dark". The Deep used to be a good and serene place before mankind tainted it or something. This one guy actually did a really cool lore / speculation video on it.

Not entirely sure about Corvians but they're a people who have no place in the world and as such are found / affiliated with the painted lands. Ghrus are the descendants of the acolytes who lived in Farron Keep / Farron Forest a long time ago. Jailers are survivors from the Profaned Capital who came to be employed to tend the jails by Sully.

As far as the Profaned Flame, it seems to be a fire born from the Abyss that consumed only flesh and left structures unburned, based on item descriptions from things like the Profaned Coal.

No fucking idea on trees or angels.

Thing is, there's no way to know. What you'd properly do is look up the Japanese katakana, and then translate it to romanji and call it a day. Except "Gough", for example, should just translate into "Go" since it's just written as "Go", yet his name (which Miyazaki supposedly handpicks, not to mention the games are all purposely dubbed in english), is pronounced "Goff/Goth".
