I run an armor aug that gives me -50% recharge time for all powers but -30% weapon damage. Then I have a passive tech skill that gives me +20% weapon damage for 5 secs after using a tech power.

I run Vanguard with C/P/L and an N7 Eagle modded with retro heatsink, then switch to Soldier with Turbocharge, retro heatsink Black Widow, and Overload + Energy Drain.

Basically, ranged DPS with soldier (or Engi) and melee facefuck with Vanguard.
