Not really no, if they're ramping then you have all the freedom in the world to boost your d-shifts, blade mages/enchanted swords, windblasts and fiery embraces. If they're the kind of deck that doesn't run Forte then you have a pretty good chance against them.

I think she'll be more relevant and maybe even oppressive next expansion with new support cards. for now you can try toploading your deck with storm minions (gilgamesh, zeus) and save an evo point for t9. the meme play is to drop her > evolve her > suicide her into an enemy minion > play all your 0 cost storms that can now hit face in the same turn.

the trick behind this is if you notice when you play her, she performs 3 actions: first she casts a debuff your player that blocks your fanfares, earthrite, etc. next if you play her and then a minion she will cast a debuff on them that locks out their text. so by killing her before playing the storm minions she won't debuff them and you can smorc away.

Wolfbolt is the most balanced combo ever because it requires a lot of setup. You can't just ramp your way up like dragon to it or just play cards and remove their board on curve like Dshift. Also you have to spot potential lethal every turn.

I feel Trinity,Forte, Eyfa and Aina are good against aggro shadow, especially those who don't bring lots of removals or fat wards.
Skellys can't suicide on those 3 bricking their board if no thighsassin and soul conversion can be played. Aina gets sure +4-5 to her attack.

Always keep at least one d-shift if it shows up. Okay to keep a spellboost follower or enchanted blade if you have early card draw and removal for the other cards. Keep kaleidoscope against haven and decks you think are aggro, mulligan it away against dragon. Keep a wind blast or fiery embrace against dragon as it well come in handy.

The combination you ideally want is an early removal/minion/ping, card draw, and something that can be spellboosted. That combination is usually safe-enough to cover all your bases against most decks.

Every elf haters argument. Doing math is only half of the skill required, you have to know when to keep or play fairies, take face damage to conserve fairies, when to waste a roach on a ward, etc etc.
Most are just too dumb to think about what the opponent might play next and what cards are left in you're own deck and the likelihood of drawing them.

roach combos are basic and ancient elf plus the fairy generators give you enough fuel for silver bolts. silver bolt in general throws skill out the window since it gives you huge amounts of guaranteed damage if you misplay.

cards like elf queen and aerin also do a lot to mitigate the amount of skill needed to pilot the deck and win, maybe it's the thinking man's deck for the top 10 or so players of the class but that's about it.

Veteran Tamer helps a lot against dragon if it drags into lategame. The beastly vow deters Bahamut a bit. Being a 2/3 is also nice, survives Dark Jeanne.
