They're basically buzzwords but the charm and quirkiness of the characters was uniquely memorable, along with the way the game captivated you with the story and the twists within. The whole ending segment of the game (neutral-pacifist Asgore through Flowey, true lab, and finally the TP ending) was a one-of-a-kind roller coaster that genuinely kept me on the edge of my seat.

It was short enough that none of the characters overstayed their welcome. I liked that we learned about the characters' personalities and goals during their boss battles, and figuring out how to spare each monster the first time was fun.

I think I still admire the game so much because everything in it comes off as very personal and genuine, you can feel the love and creativity Toby put into it.

I've only just came back after a while, been thinking about how horrifying the situation of Flowey/Asriel actually is and how I can write a story or do something that can pull all the same heart strings. Seriously, he gets punished for doing the right thing, and has to spend an eternity as an unkillable flower that can't feel love or compassion, leaving him in a constant fucking state of despair where he has no meaning in "life" and can't even kill himself. All of this happening to a child too, damn if that isn't fucked. [Spoiler]I just want to do something so I won't be forgotten, there's no other reason I have to live right now. Yes the game was incredibly impressionable. Especially because I played it without any spoilers so all the clever little things became my own experiences. The music and the characters and the atmosphere of the surroundings were made in a neat manner that touches a lot of people on an emotional level fairly universally.

The characters have unique designs in my opinion and they're written in a fun way. The goats are all fairly deep characters that could squeeze water out of a rock. Most of all though, they have incredibly memorable and catchy themes. I'd say the soundtrack is about 60% of the reason why the characters come to life so well for players.

He COULD kill himself if he really wanted to but he doesn't want to because he's afraid in the end. That's why he reset in the beginning. Technically nothing is holding Flowey to his own misery except his own self. Logically speaking if he never reset then he wouldn't be in a state of never ending boredom and he's perfectly free to off himself if he ever manages to get through that emotional barrier.
