I like her more for the machine killer and the much higher attack she will have when properly kitted out given her innate access to Fist weapons lets her get Aigaion's Arm which right now when it comes to global gives her one of the highest attack ratings. And since certain materias don't stack in global she has one of the best F2P kits only needing DW and her Artisan spear to get some crazy numbers.

What I gather is Noct loses his father, his kindgom, his fiancee, his best friend and loyal chamberlain loses his eyesight, the world is plunged into a decade of darkness and almost everyone he once knew is most likely dead, and the only thing he has left after he leaves his crystal slumber (his band of bothers) he can't keep because he has to give his life to bring back the light and save mankind. And his friends also might be dead, all because of a huge mistake their 'Gods' made. Bahamut is painted as almighty and whatnot but he sure did fuck up didn't he?

Sephiroth is just an alright villain on his own (he has a clear personality and goal, lots of power, adequate opposition to the protagonist, etc.) but it's his design that sets him apart. The black trenchcoat with magnificent platinum hair, a katana that must get caught in every doorway he passes through, tight gleaming leather, giant silver pauldrons, glowing cat eyes, and a pointlessly exposed chest. Dual Wield is like attaching another character onto your field which is why it is, invariably, the single best thing you can have. This will just be making that "fake character" be armed with a really shitty weapon.

He's only half-dived too, since he ain't a priority/top fave. Thinking of swapping Onion Kid (BSB command 2 was the bulk of damage aside from Radiant Shield) out for Squall (OSB only, as en-ice SB wouldn't do shit). I'd have to take Alph SSB anyway for my RW, and Edge covers haste with SSB2.

In the main series from what I've played you could just try to fight a boss, see what he's doing and react if you die on your next try.

If you brave the depths of reddit, there are reroll guides and macros to streamline and semi-automate the process. It might be worth looking into, and if not you may as well just record your clicks from intro movie to the first roll then play them back every time while keeping an eye on it to save some work. Realistically it shouldn't take too long to get a solid starting roll though so just keep at it, it's worth it believe me, there's nothing shittier than getting balls deep in your account then realising how gimped it is and having to start again to get at least one solid unit.

Critical importance was Y'shtola's instant Curaja CMD1 in the last phase with which I could basically tag who Nemesis killed next, so I could spare the 2 bars I had on Edge going into Phase 3.

Also would like to add that initially I thought Y'shtolas bubble might be problematic because it would prevent SB gain, which is true in Phase 1, where he spams the weak Ultra Spark, but the bubble helped more often than not and if you are debating to bring it or not because of this, just do it.
The instant cast Curaja is also crucial for the last phase so that you control who gets gibbed.

I have mostly similar characters I've been using for this, so I'm aware of RS & SS bubbles conflicting. They have been getting popped within a turn in phase two, which is when I use the first RW cast. Timing & SB gauge is an issue for phase three, even with fucking around with the ATB.

As nice as his BSB is, Tyro not having his SG hurts a lot (limits team comp, more for Y'sh to focus on for this battle). No mage OSBs for phase three/best physical OSB is not non-elemental is another detriment. No other instant healing sources aside from Y'shtola BSB command 1 hurts it a lot too I suppose. Yuna BSB2 has been helpful thanks to the boost to mind after the first initial cast. Like the other post mentioned, looking into swapping out OK for Squall and seeing how that would fare. OK is crucial for entrusting into certain characters to get through phase one. Hoping the survivability trade-off in phase one for OSB damage in phase three will help.

Ultima counters actually haven't been so annoying; they're on par with Ultra Spark with damage. However, I suppose that avoiding unneeded damage is helpful. I should probably swap out the breakdowns for dances. I'll switch haste over to Yuna too, as Y'shtola has too much shit to do already.

Trying to make do with what I have as best as I can. It's pretty annoying to feel like it could be done with the party I have after all realm synergy unlocked.

Rinoa's gives you +20% Damage, not MAG.
1050 is the soft cap or off by a few points and adding more MAG on that doesn't give you that much more damage, so Rinoa's wins.
With Burst mode, Alph SSB and CMD2 you should be very close to 1050, meaning Rinoa's is beneficial.

Regarding the darkness thing, yes. On Neo, summon SBs will deal double or triple damage, the others will deal meh damage, but won't cost you the "don't use black magic" medal.

I'll just level Rinoa then, as I don't have +mag staves stronger than rods. Guess I'll leave off the slow resist for Quistis then? 572 MAG is the highest I can go with equipment without dropping her defensive stats too low (otherwise it'd be 592). She doesn't have white 4* dived, so other than a breakdown (or 2* revive) to pair with wrath, I'm not sure if I should use anything else for her 2nd ability.
