Roy and Ramza are interchangeable. Roy is the preferred one to get but he's only a 10% difference between him and post-enhancements Ramza so not much has changed. And Ramza has a top tier TMR to boot as well for physical units compared to Roy whose TMR is only useful for mages.

So I think Ramza is still the better one of the two to pull based off of what they have. He's more expensive sure but he offers better value thanks to that Brave Suit.

Ventus is a mess of a character, fore reasons he was in the distant past as a Keyblade Master, then he's on the inmediate past as a keyblade apprentice but falls in a coma and his heart reach a young sora and that what makes Sora be able to weild the key, then sora releases his heart to free Kairi's and Ventus heart or ar least his memories form Roxas and by extension Xion, then his key is the reason why Roxas can dual weild, then it's implied that Ventus is somehow aware of what happens on the world while he's still in a coma.

The only hard part is having the patience to level up, everything else is super easy with trust magic. Being 99 with welfare 117 gear allows you to beat every expansion in XI except Seekers & Rhapsodies but that's only if you have no idea what you're doing. I'm a fuck-up who doesn't know how to play the game well and even I beat everything. You just have to have the dedication to do it.

Just tackle one major story at a time in release order, with the possible exception of the Rhapsodies story, which is meant to go along with all the others to build up into the grand finale - along the way you'll eventually trigger the beginning of some other stories (for example, early nation missions send you to delfkutt's Tower, and entering that trigger the start of Chains of Promathia, Prishe's story), and as that happens just stick with favorites.

Personally I enjoyed treasures of Aht Urghan, Wings of the Goddess and Rhapsodies of Vana'diel the most, but they were all release after Prishe's Chains of Promathia, so it's no surprise she gets a bit more focus when XI actually comes up in crossovers, but by later stories the devs learned to work better with the game's engine, so things like facial expressions on later character look a lot better.

Sure, Lion precedes her, but Lion is meant to be something like a more experienced adventure like the player is, mostly cluing you in on story points as you progress - she turns out a bit flat in comparison to all the others, but I figure back then the writers were still getting to grips with a medium that's a lot less linear than past FF games.

In a way the early protagonists were Trion, Volker and Ajido-Marujido, since you actually fight alongside them during their respective nation missions and are directly introduced to them early on, but being nation-bound made them less of a common player experience back in the day than what the "mission girls" got to be.

I don't recall much of accent on Prishe though, unless her relatively rough vocabulary counts...

Playing both FFRK and BE I can definitely attest: JP gets the best stuff in both games.

As I understand it, the mobile market in JP is more competitive with lots of quality games that have at least some depth.

So they give out way more free stuff to entice people to stick with their game. Hell, this usually works in global too. I was only doing daily check-ins and a once a week clear of the dungeons on FFRK for like a month before the anniversary celebration. Was spending way more time in BE. The anniversary and its bonuses got me to take it seriously again for the last bit of time.

JP is basically like the Anniversary for Global never stops, and their anniversary celebrations are like . . . DOUBLE anniversary celebrations.

Trials don't go away. Ifrit ELT is pretty tough but you don't need to beat it to get all of the event rewards. Even then, if you suddenly really needed to beat Ifrit ELT and had TMs that were 50% away from completion that would let you, you could spend the Lapis then and get them. I don't recommend it but it's an option. Mindlessly spending Lapis on refreshes when there's nothing pressing happening or on the horizon is just a bad idea.

You get the rank EXP and materials if you do it across 17 days too. I don't get this argument.

I wonder how long it'll take for regular story missions in RK to cover XI's expansions, consider how little coverage the game gets in there. Most FF fans will probably never play XI unless eventually SE decides to adapt it to single player, and RK could at least help people get a fell for the stories in there, beyond the fact that the game contains Shantotto and Prishe...

Say I want to get into BE. It seems each time you reroll you get about 5 free tickets and lapis for a daily rare pull. Is that what you reroll on? Try mere 6 pulls and if you get nothing good you try again? Or do you have to proceed a bit further to get more rewards and then try to pull? Also, what banner do I go for?

Nemesis is bullshit. Too many "required" effects like Last Stand, double healer BSB, Blinks, OSBs, OK BSB (Shout gets shit on by Ultra Spark).
