I have had enough of DCS

Ground targets are fucking invisible unless you're either right on top of them or they're already fucking dead. I don't get any real fun out of the air quake anymore because it's not like I'm air quaking to achieve a set objective, such as maintaining air superiority while attack jets and choppers kill things on the floor. Its just air quake for the sake of air quake.

Add to that the innumerable fucking bugs: game crashes when I try to refly, my MiG-21 key is apparently invalid despite never being re-installed or distributed.

Shit like this, especially the MiG problem should not be happening. I shouldn't have to go through my fucking registries to fix it, I should not be blamed for it being broken like that in the first place, when they fucking broke it. That's on fucking them, that's their responsibility to fix or at least issue a new fucking key.

what if combined arms was good

I played both DCS and Falcon BMS, and I have the same tactical problem in both. Suppose you're engaging a group of fighters. You fire a bunch of AMRAAMS get some kills, get a missile warning, go defensive. You manage to defeat the missiles using some maneuvers and countermeasures.

Now what? The surviving enemies are all chasing me, and if I try to turn around and engage them they WILL get the first shot on me with their IR missiles. I die every time at this point.
Of course the AI always knows exactly where am I even if I ended up hugging the terrain to lose the missiles, they all have a radar lock and I just can't see a way to turn my aircraft towards the enemy, find them and get some missiles off before they do. The only thing I can do is burn my way home and hope they aren't faster.

That's probably because those repaints aren't for the specific aircraft. You can't just put any 737 paint on the PMDG 737. Repaints are specific to each .mdl file. Look for descriptions which say they are specifically for the aircraft you want.

Usually there are friendlies, though I don't really trust the AI much.

It just feels that my only tactics is firing all my SPAMRAAMs and then running home. It doesn't feel like I'm getting good at the game. I'm forced into defensive by the R-27 missiles, and even if I dodge them the enemy (at least the survivors) end up in a better position and trying to fight back always gets me killed.

F-15C has a wingspan of 43 feet, while the Su-27 has one of 48 feet.

Why does the F-15 have what feels like 3 times the roll rate? I know wingspan isn't the only thing that determines roll rate, so what other things factor in?

DCS is shit because there is nothing to do.

You add another airplane to the shithole, people fly it for 2 weeks and quit.
People were drooling at the mouth for the Viggen, and irrelevant plane that 95% of people didn't give a shit about until it was announced for DCS.

What I always do, fly it on blue flag because we never, ever, do O P S regularly.

I do air to ground strikes with the Viggen and CAP in the mirage. I figure when the Tomcat comes out I'll do CAP (as long as they add it to red for Iranians) in that. Harrier and F/A-18 will be fun to fly too in multiplayer.

You can't judge a plane based off /SIMG OPS/, mostly because we never do ops. People are flying the Vig like crazy on the 104th and blue flag, because it's decently fun.

Currently have: A capable pc, single monitor only, only one stick (combatstick from CH products), no pedals, no nothing save for the stick alone.

My objective: To start learning flying so I can later on maybe play sum multiplayer with you guise? You play missions of rescue the loli or something, right?

In any case, my starter games would be: DCS World (frogfoot and maybe I'll purchase the combat jets), IL2 Cliffs of Dover, Rise of Flight (I have a slight boner for these planes).
