Whoever spoiled 9S killing A2 yesterday for me, congrats on your victory. You win. I will find myself unable to enjoy playing this game again. I played the game up to controlling A2 and went back to do B route properly, but it doesn't matter now. I can't control A2 without constantly being reminded I'm on a death march.

For me this game ends when 2B dies and I will potentially never know the plot beyond that. I am in a position of being forced to shelve the game for at least 4 years and that is if I'm able to forget about it for long enough to make a meaningful difference. Back in 2012 I read that Tali kills herself and to this day have not forgotten despite a desire to, so my chances aren't good.

I put a lot of effort into dispelling my dislike of 9S enough to be able to enjoy C/D/E routes, and now that I have it doesn't even matter. GG

Also what control scheme are you guys using? A/B/C? I'm still using A, thinking switching to B since I think I'm wearing my finger out a lot faster by having to depress R2 repeatedly to evade while basically holding R1 constantly for gattling during fights.

I haven't hit even ending A yet (work/school keeping me busy), but am I supposed to just self destruct willy nilly? Like I have no health restore items and feel like I'll definitely die to a boss, should I just destruct? Or should I be waiting for the game to prompt/nudge me towards it post ending A?

For story reasons. Its a yoko taro game, not a platinum game.

You're actively not meant to play the prologue on Hard due to the lack of checkpoints and the lack of Plugin Chips you can use to offset the difficulty.

There are no difficulty-tied extras or achievements so play the prologue on normal, then switch to hard, then GET THE FUCK OFF this general till you beat the game

I wish there was a difficulty setting that scaled everything to your level(only if they're lower.) Or something that gave enemies all the chip effects that you use. Or both at the same time.

There's no truly "hard" difficulty. I want increased animation speeds and drastically higher health on bosses. If you do even the slightest amount of grinding or more than one or two sidequests between bosses you end up way overleveled and everything melts regardless of difficulty setting.

I haven't even finished Ending A yet and managed to avoid most spoilers, but I'm trying to reach the Desert mission circle for Photographs. I get out close to it, but I can't seem to move forward anymore, the screen darkens a bit..and then my computer shuts itself off.

Theres a very loose timing window for you to press the right trigger when the attack is incoming.
You can pretty much mash it for permanent invincibility.
Just press RT when youre about to get hit.
And press X right after for counter attack (light heavy and ranged counters are different)

Also there's a COUNTER (not sure if it works without a chip) it works exactly like perfect MGR counter but wothout pressing X you just push the stick towards the enemy when they are hitting you.

I think that aside from the "despair" he's so famous for, the main element he puts in his games is that the opinions we all have on most things are more often than not inaccurate or even completely false because of our limited knowledge on things. For example in Nier is saying that we should try to understand as many points of view as possible before forming rushed (and often hateful) opinions that could potentially hurt us, or others around us.

Very vague and incomplete, but summarized

Drakengard 1 is first presented like a heroic quest to defeat an evil empire, and while it's still that in a way, it's also an excuse for a bunch of psychopaths to fucking kill eveything they find. There's also the whole unrealiable narrator involved too.

Nier seems like a righteous quest to save your daughter but ends up with the mass murdering of countless innocent people (that you call monsters) getting caught in a conflict with you trying to protect the things they care about.

Drakengard 3 is the opposite, what it first seems like a psychopath girl trying to kill what seem to be genuinely good and loved people just for the sake of killing, is actually a necessary sacrifice in order to save the world from yourself.

During the boss fight Pod 153 tell 9S that 21O requested a model change and later disappeared.
The timeframe is short but she most likely changed bodies between the hacking operation conducted by the S types and the main assault, wich she participated in as a B-type. Then she disappeared after being infected by the virus.

Yeah, it was fairly obvious there was more to it, it's a Yoko Taro game after all, things are never so simple, but it was still interesting to see exactly what was going on and why did she need to kill her sisters so much. And most of the other intoners are pretty messed up in the head, just like Zero, so I don't think that makes them all villains. One even agrees with Zero's plan, they just don't trust each other enough to allow the other to finish the job.

As much I like CyDesignation's designs on Automata, I still kinda miss Fujisaka's work. It gave all the previous games a bit of a unique but cohesive look.

Level scaling in chapter select would have definitely been a welcome addition. If you want Ending Y then you spend most of your time breezing through the game trying to get the last levels and materials/weapons you need. Heck I wouldn't have leveled all the way to lvl 99 if I knew that it made the Emil fight so easy.

Dunno. If you're autistic enough to do all of Route A's quests on normal then you'll end up oveleveled and the game will become a cakewalk. I only started dying to ennemies when I switched to hard.

And even then Deadly Heal and Auto-Heal +loads of healing items turns you into god. At that point the only threats are ennemies that can 2 shot you. I feel like they should have made healing items either heal over time or disable pause healing for Hard Mode. And they definitely should have nerfed Deadly Healing before launch. You can easily get a 30% heal after killing an enemy for very little storage space, and since you always face pack of ennemies you don't even need to use items anymore.
