Those are pretty big things for this type of game man. There nothing wrong with judging a game with the first few parts either, especially nowadays, older games its not a good idea but devs understand that the first hour or so of gameplay is what people are going to see the most off before buying it, as such they tend to put a lot more focus on that.

Really if all single players got going for it's is combat and exploration, I can't image the exploration is worth it without better writing, and the combat is just as fine in MP.

I will pick up the SP after I cooled down from the MP after a few hours, but I really doubt my opinions going change when the base things I dislike about it have no sign of changing.

It's pretty fun. Tech powers can easily melt enemies at lower levels and they're good for splash damage, especially if your equipment is light enough that you can use them as fast as possible. I actually built an Engineer Shepard entirely around Incinerate in ME3 - carried only a pistol and a shotty and used ultralight materials on both, wore armor that increased damage, etc. I think I got the cooldown to around 1.5 seconds so I was using it almost more often than the guns.

DA2, despite all its flaws, was a better experience for concentrating on one character of one race instead of several. The only thing comparable is DA:O's origins themselves, the main game just took you away from better stories about people. That's what DA:O's main plot misses and gets wrong. It's what DA:I misses and gets wrong.

DA2 had lots of flaws, but making the story primarily about characters, people, their lives in a fantasy world spread out of years and years was not one of those mistakes. Not at all. It picked a story and stuck to it. It didn't go all over the place trying to account for every possible racial variation or sexual preference or anything like that. It has flaws. Flaws that needed to be fixed, but never will be, but the core concepts of DA2 are vastly more solid than anything DA:I ever offered. DA:O's origins are equally solid, but the main game and story lose track of what works so well in those origins.

You want to tell a story about a Turian character? Great. Dedicate your entire game to that. Human? Great. Asari? Great. Anything? Great. But PICK ONE.

Don't shove a bunch of races in there DA:I style and watch your game burn to the fucking ground.

I did activate the monoliths, I'm inside the vault at the very end where you reset it and the console is just dead, there's the quest marker on it and everything but it can't be interacted with.

I've done everything inside the vault already, pain in the ass that it is with having to constantly refill life support in those little pocket areas, but it wont let me finish and reset the damn thing.

Okay, I'm still pretty early on in the game, but some timeline issues are bothering me, do I have it right?

But in the first mission SAM dated the Remnant structures back only by 400 years. I know the angaran historical records are a massive blank space after their society fell, but if the Remnant were active in the cluster just 400 years prior, they must know about them. If we co-existed with aliens for however how long and then we nuked ourselves, our survivors and their descendants would still be well aware that there were extraterrestials hanging around just few hundred years ago. That kind of information would survive, even just in form of folk lore.
