Yeah there's tons of FPS games that let hundreds of players in a persistent world to duke it out right? I do like the vehicles on occasion anyway, just I feel it's hard to find good fights in this game. We already have an infiltrator class, it's called "Light assault" for some reason.
What if infils couldn't cloak with snipers equipped? Might not fix the issue but would make it less desirable to play for people. I think Planetside 1 infiltrator was much better.
The class also seems to be a huge beginner trap as all my friends and associates I've introduced to the game ALL wanna play the "cool stealth sniper", also any time I get killed by a low BR player it's ALWAYS an infiltrator. The class just attracts beginners a whole lot. But atleast the vanu infils are still cute desu

Unrealistic to remove classes and items, I think tweaks are more likely / possible. I like infiltrator being stalker cloak only personally, give snipers to all infantry classes maybe and perhaps nerf bolt dmg slightly so it can't oneshot. I'd also like heavy assault shield to only work vs explosives to emphasize their role as an anti-vehicle class. But let's be real none of this is ever gonna happen.

Even just to keep it simple, copy current infiltrator without cloaking ability or dildar and name the class "scout", and then give the cloak to a pistol only planetside 1 style infiltrator. This is one of those constant problems with Planetside 2, and one of the things that makes it shit really.

Other games would say "no, you cannot have 20 tanks, you get 1 tank, but that tank is very strong and hard to kill so you feel ebin feels upon killing it (ie, other team is at significant loss and will take time to replace it), and using it is enjoyable also as you spearhead the assault" - whereas Planetside just gives everyone a tank, nerfs them into paper, while still allowing 50 of them to surround and fuck over entire hexes through sheer numbers. Killing them means nothing, and they're so easily accessible that you can just play like a retard to cheese kills and re-pull when you die.

If bolt actions were limited to a set number per hex or something, perhaps things would be better - I get infantry classes are different to vehicles - but it's the over-saturation of cheese that fucks this game.

I'd have literally no issue with 2012 tier prowlers if they were extremely limited in number, and took 3 crew to operate.

I think I shot 5 or 6 planetmen in the last week, tops. The fights have just been so shit, and it's always the same 4 battles on the Indar T. I really want this game to not be shit, but there are never any updates, and when there are updates, they're absolute jokes. Weeb guns and nerfing weapons that hardly anyone died to - those are all the updates we're getting.

Overwatch and Achtung Panzer-Operation Star have been good fun though.

I think they're strongly planning on it for Mius Front - but haven't implemented it yet. Game has been out for ~12 months, and from what I've seen with Op Star, they tend to support them for many years. I reckon it's still viable that they'll include multi. From what I saw, they released an update a few days ago adding some new vehicles, so they're still definitely actively supporting the game with content. Eventually I guess.

I'm still working through Op Star though, so I can't say too much.

phoenix is a joke, only really good for annoying solo harassers. it does like 70% damage to them for some reason (assuming they don't outrun you lol, thank u werl for nerfing phoenix velocity).

it can also extremely rarely be useful for killing science sundies on tech plants, if massed. Usually though the defenders will get wind of it and start shooting them down.

I haven't played since 2014 but I want to reinstall to play on emerald during TE ops (not with them though). how bad of an idea is this?

I stopped playing, coincidentally not because of, when the rocklet rifle hit live. I just came back today.

I was a little disappointed to see nothing new in the game but maybe I just missed things. However, I went to the only active battle, on hossin. And what I saw was three essentially unkillable valks farming the shit out of both the NC and the TR at the same time.

Every time one did die, which was after absorbing what looked like a fucking absurd amount of damage, it was back again a minute later like nothing had happened.

Has the valk been buffed or were the fucking VS up to their bullshit as usual?

About half the weapons in the game are empire-specific.


TR specializes in many small bullets with reduced recoil. While they aren't AS dumb as NC, they're pretty worthless because most of them have been using crutch weapons that basically can't miss. Their max suits and tanks get lockdown, which increases their dps massively but locks them in place. BRRRRRRT is the warcry of the TR.

VS specializes in FUCKING BULLSH- i mean low recoil, low bullet drop, long range weaponry (even though NC has the longest range sniper rifle, you still have to arc it). They have some of the most skilled outfits in the game, but everyone who isn't in those outfits are massive shitters that joined the faction because they heard that's where the good players go. Their maxes get a speed/dps buff in exchange for massively increased vulnerability, and their tanks are hover tanks that can strafe but can't independently turn the turret. They're actually very fun and their weapons are easy to learn for beginners.


NC specializes in big bullets with nasty kickback. Basically the polar opposite of TR. Hardest faction to play plus dumbest players with no organized outfits, but some of the coolest weapons like the Railjack (longest range sniper rifle), Jackhammer (burst-fire shotgun), Ravens (cursor-directed dual rocket launcher), or Phoenix (Camera controlled rocket launcher), all of which have been nerfed into the fucking ground but they're still fun.

Shotguns and battle rifles are all clones of each other. For the most part, sniper rifles are also clones. And all the GOOD pistols are NS, which can be bought by any faction.
