While this is correct, he's actually secretly good.
What you need to realize is that the turret is only there for you to randomly throw out to draw some fire and only actually becomes relevant once in MC.
Outside that you run around doing ridiculous damage in all ranges, blowing Reapers and Hogs up in melee range and not dying thanks to armor.

what's the role of offensive, defensive, tank, and support?

this is a legit question.

one time some guy screeched at me to stay in the payload at all times as Mei (in Defend) because that's defense heroes job. Obviously I didn't want to stray far away and flank or anything, but I liked checking around very nearby for attacks.

my current general idea is that offense focuses on being literally on front or flanking from behind; to push forward. in a KOTH situation, they cap the point as soon as they can, then get out.

defense stays in and around the objective/payload and prioritizes capping it/holding it. in that KOTH situation, they stop any enemies from entering a point at all.

tank is drawing attention to yourself rather than your teammates to protect them while they do their job (((((supposedly))))). obviously you're not gonna run in and kamikaze, you're not immortal, that's not what I mean; but act as a somewhat wall to damage between enemies and teammates. sometimes push a little forward, sometimes a little back, but never stray too far.

support is support. I think it's crucial they stay close to teammates. obviously not glue sticking close to them (read: mercy players), but keep around them.

Which waifu skins can I buy with gold that improve the physical appearance of the female heroes as much as possible. For example I'm about to drop 1000 g on one of the Young Ana skins.

lots of DPS can win a 1v1 vs a tank if they outplay them but realistically you should never be engaging in a 1v1 with a tank as a DPS. And as a tank you should be in the front line of your team not going off on your own to get picked by a soldier. Overwatch is about positioning and synergy.

Whats wrong with Rocket barrage? It just has to be used with good positioning. And with both Graviton Surge and HALT, its almost impossible not to use right. The only thing I would possibly buff on it is no self damage, seeing how the spread can hurt you even if you think you're a safe distance from objects because of how random it is.

Pulse bomb is fairly balanced. I would only add that it does an extra 50 damage to whomever its stuck to just to assure it kills Orisa (with her armor she can survive it with 5 health, and with fortify it only does 195 damage)

Low POV of the tank makes making shots, even at slight elevations like from the courtyard onto the point at hanamura, miss because of the low to the ground angle. It should be equal to that of normal bastion so you constantly aren't jumping just to get a proper shot or be blocked by geometry of the map. The self-heal buff is just that your time is so precious in that mode, you should be compensated with a slight healing increase for forgoing that time from shooting to heal.

I did post a response in the last thread to everyones comments and nobody retorted back to my reasoning for the changes, so I figured I'd try again and see.

Also the Death Blossom is there because Reaper moves at a sluggish pace, so armored individuals can easily walk out of his range and survive due to armor halving his damage. Also-

Primal Rage is one of the most flawed ultimates in the game. While it does make great for contesting and enviromental kills in the small and niche situations and maps that allow it(a fundamental flaw if your ultimate's usefulness is dependent on the map.), the ultimate is a massive feed for the enemy team. Winston's strikes are weak and his splash radius is tiny and hard to land in range unless you move parabolic to land on the enemy(which is a waste of time and makes you a giant target).

So the enemy can just fire freely at the winston with a 1.5 increased hitbox for a good 20-30% ult charge without worrying about dying.

I was curious and started running pharah on payload and control point. There is very rarely a good widowmaker in plat. A good mcree is mythically rare in plat. Soldier burning his ult to kill you twice a game is all over the place in plat. Pharah is the queen of plat right now.

I got placed 2300 and I'm floating at 2900 with about a 65% winrate since ive been using her as my go-to DPS pick.

I have a feeling she gets countered easier at diamond ranks, but we'll cross that bridge when we get there. I'll probably go back to playing Zarya then.

I find it good enough, it makes me more durable if I'm about to get killed so when I have it ready I can take more risks. Not every ult has to be equally valuable, and at the rate Winston's is charged it could be dangerous to buff it too much.

Take this person I've run across as an example. You can play Pharah all the way to top 500 but once you start getting higher your own skill starts to play a much more important role as you can't just rely on shitty aim from enemies. They buffed him because of comparable strength. Orisa has a shield with more health on a shorter cooldown that would recharge while she already had a shield deployed. Winstons shield only has 600 hp and had to be destroyed before the relatively long cooldown would even start to recharge, it just didn't fit his playstyle at all and was objectively weaker than every other shield of a similar type.

It was a good change, winston wasn't """bad""" but he wasn't a super popular pick and he still has some pretty significant disadvantages at his role.

Of all the changes they could have made to him they made the correct change.

No. Rocket barrage is outright the highest DPS in the game.
It can chew through Sound Barrier much easier and outdamage Transcendance unlike dragonstrike
Not to mention dragonstrike also has a windup, and in most cases you'll only start it once graviton is already out
Dragonstrike's strength comes from the fact that Hanzo can move after it launches, can be shot through walls, and that it lingers, potentially blocking enemies on the backline
