You joke, but I do think some of the AU material has gotten closer or surpassed UT in certain aspects. Take Storyshift for example, sure you can meme on a couple things, but the overall family dynamic of the Dreemurrs is much more pronounced, you feel much more for them and you end up caring for them a lot more than in the main game, where Toriel and Asgore are basically book starter and bookend, Chara is barely existant save for narrator potential, and Asriel is a good bit of sadness about a creature who tried to become what he was originally created from.

Too much of the focus is lost between them though.

it's never outright stated if flowey actually has the dust within him though. (as in the flower grew and absorbed asriel's dust from the soil)
if he does, then it's as if someone moved the hard drive from one system to the next, that way he is asriel.
