Just finished the first major plot point on the first planet. Got all companions but Jaal atm. There's been a few um what moments but honestly, the most annoying thing so far (other than not knowing what the fuck half the menus are) is not being able to save during priority missions.

Also Hainly only mentions the Stephen thing if you ask her about herself so if that triggers you, don't.

I'm getting ready to throw some mods on Origins and start another playthrough. Does anybody know which mod fixes the beards in the game so they don't look like garbage? I can't remember if it's DA Redesigned or the Revamped Head Morphs mod.

Also general suggestions on mods would be welcome.

Most of the recommended mods are the best ones to use. Just load those up and go to town. Fiddling with stats via console is fun at times as well.

There's a mod for male dwarves that adds a ton of hair and beard options.

Frankly I think JB looks atrocious for environments so I'm skipping it regardless. Similar thing with the True Sacred Armors more generally. Armor of the Sten is OP as shit since it's just clothing. And I think people should have some yellowish teeth in the hellhole of Ferelden frankly.

I'm using everything else already with the exception of the Practical Morrigan Robe and the armor mesh replacer--thanks for those.

If I'm installing a chargen mod (which is a .dazip) via the DAO Modmanager, will a chargen compiler actually work on it? The folder doesn't appear in the override so presumably it won't. Is there a way around that?

I made Erimond Tranquil as a mage and they nearly rioted (despite the fact Erimond is ten time worse than Alexius, not at all repentant, and is also not prtected by Chantry Law that says Harrowed mages cannot legally be made Tranquil). It was regrettable.

It's alright for me. Not flawless but I've had no glitches, issues or serious performance problems. Occasional delay in textures fully loading but it's just a lack of definition, not missing/broken. Sometimes there's weird lighting effects and the focus/blur seems off (like on the forehead here) but I don't know if that's me or the game. Fiddling with the ambient occlusion may help with that, I dunno.

So I got my mods all installed, but I'm getting a bug where all the eyes are very faded and the iris appears clear. Obviously this has got something to do with the mods I installed.

I compiled my chargen files and all and everything is working--hair, etc.--save for the eyes. I removed the two folders with eye changes in my override, and removing them removed all pigment from the eyes, but I don't know how to get it so the eyes have normal pigment.

Can anyone help? I've been at this for a full day and I don't want all this work to go to waste.

Is DA the best series for tactical and challenging fantasy party RPG? There's a lot of customization for each character, you can pause the game to micromanage everyone better and ramp up the difficulty to make it harder and more strategic.

It actually aged way better than other retro rpgs like FO2, Arcanum and NWN1 (especially NWN1). The background art is beautiful and the UI is still servicable. I'm replaying it for the sixth time now and it still amazes me how flexible the combat is, DA:O feels very limited in comparison with its lack of multi/dual classing, lack of weapon types like spears and flails, and three lousy classes.

The Launch of Andromeda Reminds me of Fallout: New Vegas

I don't know how many people here are also massive fallout fans but I remember quite clearly when New Vegas launched

The gaming press hated it. All people could talk about for months was the incredibly broken state of the game. I remember reading all of the negativity and decided to pick it up on a whim regardless. While all glitches and bugs were definitely there, I remember immediately feeling the "soul" of the game (for lack of a better word)

Years later, New Vegas is looked back on as the best modern fallout game. Because after all the talk of glitches and shitty graphics settled down, people realized how good other aspects of the game really were (almost the complete opposite of the polished but soulless fallout 4)

This is how I felt playing Andromeda. I was hesitant to even play the trial because of all the negative press, but it was immediately apparent to me that the heart and soul of a true mass effect game was here
