It reveals your auras when YOU are looking at him. If he happens to not be looking in your direction, he won't see that you've been revealed. And once you're in terror radius the auras are turned off. It's basically one sided once two people are dead if you use sole survivor with it. His detection range becomes smaller than terror radius so you can stare at him all you like without worry of revealing yourself.

Got to love how killers facecamp you after you sabo'ed their hooks
I'm not even salty, I'm serious, it's so funny because you know you've actually managed to anger them.

Reason why I've brought this topic up, is after giving it some thought, I think killers need to relax when it comes to sabo. I mean takes some skill sabing all the hooks on the map, and it comes with a great risk of being caught and face camped.
Usually buys your team time to escape which is a bonus.

Basically where I'm coming from, Killers complain about high rankers sabo'ing all their hooks.
Now that I am high rank (rank 4 atm) I now know why it's such a common thing.
It's the pip system, if you want that double pip you need to get 5k points in each category.
Sabo is one of the best ways to get bold points, so it's not like it's anything personal, they're trying to get their BP's for that second pip.

Also seeing how a lot of killers say things like camping is legit tactic, well so is sabo'ing.
Two way street.

Also please don't flame, I know sabo is a sore topic for a lot of killers.
Just my two cents.

What's hard about saboing? The infrequent placement of hooks near generators? With a toolbox you're there for a few seconds, moving dodges the stun, the killer only knows that you're done with that area. Well let's see, someone is breaking your hooks, you don't want that so you make sure they get taken out of the game. Sounds good to me, they clearly don't want to escape anyway if they're wasting time breaking hooks instead of repairing gens when most killers will have IG anyway. That and there's going to be at LEAST one asshole crouched behind a tree nearby waiting for you to change your camping ways so camping almost always results in two+ people not working the objective for maximum time.

Also Sabing all the hooks is hard? lmao
I've done two hooks for a daily over the past few days and both hooks when I completed the sabo I was instantly able to walk away, no clue what did it, but there was no animation locking me in place. Both times it also played one of the wood snapping noises one time when I started repairing a gen after the hook broke. If I can somehow accidentally do that twice I'm sure people who live to sabo know about it.

I'll admit to not having played the game (poor), but hypothetically couldn't a trapper lay traps in known pallet loops to mess with survivors and make that strategy a risk?

Pallet loops can be performed on almost any pallet if the survivor knows what they're doing, and there's far more pallets than traps.

Even if that weren't true, survivors can always disarm traps.

And even if THAT weren't true, the problem with pallet looping is the amount of time that it takes up. Time is almost always on the survivors' side, so time sinks are generally in their favour. Trapping every single loopable pallet would take so much time that survivors could fix all the generators before you were half finished.

Basically, while trappers can (and should) lay traps in the most prime pallet locations, trapping every known pallet loop is impossible, would be impotent if it weren't impossible, and would be impractical if it weren't impotent.

From what I've heard it sounds like there's no counterplay to looping, so I thought I'd try and help theorycraft, but it seems like that's just about pointless.

There is, well, kind of. It's following survivor, but the problem is there is also gorillion pallets on the map, so after you break pallet, survivor just runs to the next one. You just can't punish this strategy. There is also a perk, it's name is Play With Your Food, but it can be half useless, and it's a DLC perk.

Just because Sprint Burst is one of the perks that's in the training wheels perk set doesn't mean it's still cancer when it's the only one of the meta you run, This perk set is fine, you shouldn't get any shit for it, and if you do it's unwarranted. Sprint Burst is one of the more tame meta perks IMO if not the tamest.

That being said what it mostly comes down to is not your perk choice, but HOW you play the game out. If you're just running around not giving a shit about hiding and then just don't even attempt to lose the killer and just pallet train, then yeah you're gonna push people away from the game. But if you actually break line of sight and start walking and hide somewhere or continue to move away and actually bamboozle the guy, you should be fine. If he quits because of that then he wasn't gonna stay to begin with. Besides, new killers are pretty easy to evade, turns out the guy I had my 30 minute 1v1 with the other day only had like 100 hours played at the time for a reference.

Side note Nea is best survivor choice.
