I think the unit description says the skeletons are the bones of ancient warriors and the zombies are just random corpses, I just assume it goes off the old D&D framework that zombies are easier to raise with necromantic magic and use the decayed flesh as a cheap solution, while skeletons are powered solely through magic and are harder to make but stronger because of it.

It's possible. I made my owb mod that gives some elven units to empire because at this point ive modded it imto a generic fantasy game. The only issue is that sounds dont work well betweem races iirc. Most modders are doing lore expansions though. Especially because non lore friendly mods tend to get flamed in thr comments.

So a word on culture and population here:
from what I have read the modders have made population growth like dumbslow somehow, not sure of the numbers.

Because every faction here is Catholic, the religion in-game has been converted to "culture". Regions with more of your culture like you, regions with less (like Bordeaux here) dislike you. The only way I'm sure of changing culture so far is building the town hall upgrade chain, and boy is it slow as shit at a whopping 1% influence per turn.

Yeah, it definitely makes sense, but damn do I wish there was some other way to convert. In vanilla, not only did you have the buildings, but stack the church bonuses with the priests you can recruit and holding settlements doesn't take a full stack for like half the campaign.

What are the go to unit's for Wood Elves these days? What's a fairly standard unit composition? Fighting the Empire as Chaos is the most tedious experience I've ever had in Total War. For some reason all they ever do is spam nothing but handgunners, and I have to spend 30 minutes every battle chasing them down.

It eventually gets to the point where my Chaos Knights get so exhausted that they are barely faster than the handgunners, who are still zipping around the battlefield kiting them. wtf am I doing wrong? I'm not having any more fun in my Chaos campaign because of this handgunner spam
