Well if you don't get any replies you may want to consider just giving the first game a try. To get the most out of the series it's recommended to play it anyway (not mandatory I guess). First handful of hours will give you an idea of how it's like. You can probably end the first big event around 7 hours. Or try to find some youtube for a quick idea I suppose.

It's one of the higher rated VNs recently, mostly VN with some SRPG. If you play in hard mode I'd say the latter is about 20%. The SRPG configuration is simple: you get to custom stats and equip accessories and that's it. As for the actual battles, it's moderately challenging, runs well and seems to be entertaining enough for most people.

Why did you lie to me Vitagen? This is beyond bad. Who thought having touch screen only controls was a good idea? Not just that, you have to use both front and back touch screens. You simply cant hold Vita comfortably. And whats with the character design that goes against the gameplay? Those sticks on her head just make the orb stuck every single time. Some of the puzzles even require timing which touch screen controls just dont have. The fucking timed maze was the last thing that made me drop the game.

Its a shame really. The game otherwise looked interesting.

Is Yomawari at least good so I didnt waste 30€ on these?

While I personally used touch screen for the majority of the game, I'm also used to and a particular fan of games with unconventional control schemes. That being said, most people did not use the touch screen controls.

And Yomawari, in addition to having regular vita controls, I consider to be one of my favorite games on the system. Enjoyed it to start from finish, and it never makes you want to fight the creators like hotel nigga does.

Some of the memory fragments were incredibly hard to get like the one on the conveyor belts.

Growlanser IV. 46+ endings, with more than a dozen waifus, on the PSP and vita.

It's also an incredibly solid RPG, best described as the love child of Baldur's Gate and Final Fantasy. I honestly think it's design in how flexible the plot, while also having a fixed storyline, is is probably among the best out there.

Stella Glow is basically Luminous Arc Tonelico. It's a turn based game with many of the same themes as Ar tonelico (Singing witches saving the world with the help of the main character). Only difference is that Alto is way more tied into the central plot than most Ar Tonelico protags are.

It was more a combination of her interacting with Aoto outside the cosmosphere, along with Aoto's persistence in trying to create a good ending in a depressing story that got to her. Her Binary Field was a historical record, and there was no reason for Aoto to try and create a good ending once he had the song. Him doing it was basically a kindness, or a revelation of his nature, which was basically 'Fuck everything, I want a happy ending', which left a great impression on Tyria.

It was pretty sweet, in it's own way.

So I just finished Growlanser IV.

I honestly think it might be one of the best designed games of all time.

>Battle system is genuinely unique, being a map-based real-time/ATB hybrid
>Plot is incredibly flexible (Three major branches, each with dozens of minor branches depending on characters recruited/saved and choices)
>character development even for the silent protag (game remembers character conversation choice, so you slowly build a character and can't make OOC decisions)
>46 endings, for both waifus, bros and character goals
>plot properly respects character's achievements with greater status and prestige

Only downside is that the art is kind of hit or miss, depending on your tastes.

I ultimately got bored of it but I thought it wasn't as bad as most people say it is, it had some interesting ideas like the live mixes and the opportunity of getting a new module if you do a chance time right was neat, just make it so you also get diva points to buy new modules in the next game and it'd be a cool mechanic.
