Ninty seems to be pretty serious about their embargo.
Several gaming YT channels and gaming news outlets I've seen and read so far make mentions of how they can't talk about a lot of what they've encountered due to the restrictions placed on them by Nintendo.

This week has been primarily about previews for BotW, the first five hours specifically.
Next Thrusday is when the embargo lifts, so I would expect around then to see much more substantial info. Barring any leaks minor or otherwise that may happen between now and then.

We haven't seen anything specific regarding the Zoras, Gorons, Gerudos, and other races. Nothing of the Main Dungeons or a confirmation of how many there'll be. No specifics regarding the game's plot or how it'll play out. And so on and so forth.

From the looks of it you get a 5th of a circle for 4 orbs so that's 20 orbs used for 1 outer stamina wheel.

100 orbs are left out of 120 Shrine gotten ones. 4 orbs for each heart to reach a 30 max. You start with 3 so that's 27 hearts purchased with 108 orbs.

In essence you'll be short 8 orbs. If we say the 4 Great Beast Dungeons give you orbs as well then you'll still be short 1 heart or 1 fifth of your stamina wheel

Getting an orb from beating the final boss seems pointless as you power up for the boss. I suppose you could 2 orbs from the dungeons as opposed to 1

What? No, I'm just saying they have to be at least reasonably consistent. The hand is something that needs addressing if it's the same character yes, but the CASTLE is a very big, big issue. Did you ever play Halo? Because the castle mysteriously existing for Ganon to be sealed in would be the equivalent of Halo 2 ending where it did (with Master Chief arriving mid-assault on Earth and ending there, mid-battle), then Halo 3 starting with Master Chief and Earth preparing for an invasion that is several weeks away.

Or movies, The Empire Strikes Back ending with Lando and Chewie going off to rescue Han Solo, who was encased in Carbonite and shipped off to Jabba the Hutt's palace, and then Return of the Jedi starting off with Han and Chewie on the run from Jabba's minions for fear of being encased in carbonite. It's just impossible for the events of Ocarina of Time to be the 100 years in the past of Breath of the Wild, nobody who is a writer would put their name on that kind of a plothole.

I'm so hyped for BOTW but I just can't seem to make up my mind.

If I get the Wii U version I know I won't be able to enjoy it as much because I'll thinking about the inferior graphics and sound while playing.

But BOTW is the only game I want for the Switch during the first part of the year and obviously it will cost a lot more to get that version. I didn't pre-order a Switch either so don't know when I'll be able to get one.

The entirety of the Great Plateau invalidates it being Child Timeline. We see the ruins of Castle Town and the Temple of Time in both BotW and TP, both are in distinctly different states of decay, with BotW's being less decayed but covered in guardians and hosting several statues of the Goddess Hylia in the temple.

In order for BotW to take place beforehand, they would have had to have all the guardians and homages to Hylia removed, as well as the Master Sword restored and returned to the temple.

In order for Twilight Princess to take place before, the entire forested area would have had to be cleared out not just at the area, but for MILES (aside from the Forest of Spirits), the master sword removed to another location, the temple and surrounding Castle Town REBUILT then LEFT TO ROT AGAIN like a theme park that just couldn't attract attendees (which I am sorry, but just doesn't make sense).

It requires Bleach tiers of asspulling to fit those two together, and it really fits more snugly into many other timeline theories. I am sorry, but your timeline of choice is the least likely candidate.

Ganondorf takes different paths in each timeline. In TWW, he had time to think. He lost, and he reflected on his true desire.

In TP, he was imprisoned, killed, and revived in an angry fit because Link warned Zelda & he was just a mad asshole.

In the downfall timeline, he won and became one with the monster he had turned into and was trapped and revived in that form every time.

He is also legitimately killed in TWW (well, turned to stone at the bottom of the ocean) & TP. So this would have to be a newly born Ganondorf (like Four Swords Adventures, who becomes the fucking pig anyway because of the trident) or an un-rocked TWW Ganon, who had the Master Sword. So we would then need to explain what he does with the sword and why Hyrule Kingdom moved BACK to old Hyrule.

So with it likely being in Downfall, there is never going to be a deep Ganon over there. He will always be one-dimensional.

Not that it being the king is amazing, by any stretch, but it was always going to be that. This story isn't about him as a man, and he wasn't going to be separated from Ganon.

It wasn't. Faron Woods overtook the ruins of the temple and Castle Town, that's why the ruins of the Castle Town fountain can be found nearby. You see, these things make sense. There are gaps, but the gaps are not outright plotholes (unless you get real nitpicky with stuff like the exact layouts of the Temple of Time across games. So to try and equate "they can just move the building across the kingdom" with "why are there suddenly trees growing where there were none before" is pretty darn inaccurate.

And the hand is a personal gripe, but the castle that doesn't exist suddenly springing up for Ganon to be sealed in is not something that Nintendo as story creators will do. It's far more than a hand-waive, it's a MASSIVE plothole.

It's Ganondorf/Ganon reincarnated, much like Link and Zelda always are. I just think it's far smarter to split the 2D games off completely from the 3D timelines. 4 Swords Adventures is a good setup for the origin of Ganon in the 2D games, and Minish Cap was SO hinting at a pre-Triforce era what with trying to sap the "golden light force" from Zelda and whatnot.

iirc it was the gamexplain preview that confirmed you can fight the final boss right after leaving the plateau. He described it as seeming potentially beatable too (as in he was able to do damage, there was no story trigger locking you out of the fight proper), but without a stockpile of high level gear it seemed completely unfeasible.

Yes. Like I said, there are the ruins of old Castle Town right outside of the Temple's ruins (pic related, Castle Town Fountain). It is very commonly believed to be true at this point, to the point that some have argued Ordon Village used to be Lon Lon Ranch. And it certainly makes a lot more sense than The Holy Temple of Time, housing the gate to the Sacred Realm itself, just fucking teleported.

Fun fact, if you raise and harvest your own chickens, you CAN cook the meat medium-rare. It's just that storebought chickens are defeathered by all the bodies being thrown into vats of water that soak the feathers out. Said vats also soak up remaining excrement and other corpse-related grossities, so the meat needs all those germs heat-blasted out of it.

And I think you are supposed to assume something happened between MM & TP where Castle Town had to move, not the Temple of Time.

The Temple of Time in OoT was built in the Faron Province from Skyward Sword, which was a forest area. It proceeds to become a forest area again in TP's era, so they seem to move the castle for some reason.

In BotW, the Temple is also distanced from the Castle, so it also moved here for some reason, and is slightly distanced from Faron, so you could say they just pushed back the region boundary or renamed the area around the Temple "central Hyrule" and ignore that for the most part.

Land isn't always consistent, but general location is.

I write for a living, and sometimes you consciously create a plot hole or retcon something because you had a change of plans or some older detail no longer serves the narrative. That's why one thing inexplicably changing doesn't bother me, so long as it's a net positive.

Anyway I'm not suggesting the Temple of Time packed its bags and left, I'm suggesting--you know what, whatever, I didn't mean to start a debate with the example I gave. My point remains that y'all are silly for underestimating Nintendo's willingness to do what they want and come up with a justification later.
