Newfag here. I used to play The Sims 2 and 3 a lot, but I quit around 2013, because I thought TS3 was starting to pander too much to casual hipster shit. Then TS4 looked like it casualized the game even more.
I have every TS2 EP, and WA, Ambitions, LN, Generations and Seasons for TS3.
Now that toddlers are in TS4, I'm interested in buying it, but I'm still not sure. Is it worth it?

I've never really had problems with it running, but mostly I just build and CAS/CAP; I can understand that it wouldn't be so fun for people who have problems out of it though.

Name is "Hexenhaus" on the gallery. I used the #ts4vg tag.

things I did:
- obviously better basement (I used Vlads original basement as a blueprint of my own crypt area in the basement and redecorated everything)
- backyard got a few small improvements

No, I cant even remember the first sim family I had. The earliest I can remember was my sims 2 family. I killed the parents so I could play as a teenager.

The reason I asked is because I tried to separate the pillows from this sofa so I could mix and match them. When I got rid of the pillows I noticed that the shadow of the pillows is part of the texture. While someone with experience could probably fix the texture it seems like a pain in the ass to deal with and I started wondering if they had the modding community in mind when they made things. Maybe it was the best way to do it to fit with their art style or something other thing I don't know about.

I don't recall seeing as much support for custom modding by EA (outside of building custom neighborhoods excluding 4) but maybe that's because I was never looking for it.

The nraas suite of mods improve the game a lot.

Yes, it all depends on what you like and are into tho. Try and avoid stuff that looks like it's photo skinned off google images or are just skin meshes recoloured to look like clothing (Skin tight look). Also avoid stuff with supper high poly counts or stuff that is pre pets.
