So Authoritarian and Egalitarian are replacing Individualist and Collectivist, or are they keeping them?

You can be an authoritarian individualist ("Be individualist/capitalist or else GIT OUT!", supporting an authoritarian state), as well as an authoritarian collectivist (all must join the hivemind!).

Likewise you can be an egalitarian individualist (it's okay if you're different, etc., we support welfare programs, etc but believe in individuality), and an egalitarian collectivist (the collective is better than individualism, we support welfare and free shit, etc,)

The Ix'Idar are made sense as a collectivist hivemind bug race.

They also add Hive mind or something like that as 9 'ethic'.
Yeah they should keep old and add new but it was triggering swedecucks and lefties for whatever reasons.

Well they are technically better at cutting armor. And have better range I think.
>>
>>168810243
>Yeah they should keep old and add new but it was triggering swedecucks and lefties

Yeah, I checked out a Reddit page about the Egalitarian/Authoritarian change, and half of it was filled with literal Marxists bitching about how "communists don't have slaves!"

They seem to put a lot of emotional investment into their commie shit, without realizing that idealism doesn't determine reality. You can have a collectivist horde that enslaves its own members and other races "for the greater good." For instance, the Ix"Idar. Just because space bugs are ruthless and do mean things, that doesn't mean they aren't collectivist.

Also, on the Swedecuck topic. I'm starting to get pretty annoyed by all of Wiz's (Martin Anward) Trump references in his let's plays. It's obvious he's butthurt about Trump winning.

I'm an individualist, and I can admit this.

A plutocratic oligarchy, for instance, would be authoritarian/individualist; because individualism is upheld as an ideology, but it is not technically democratic. Hans-Hermann Hoppe is an IRL proponent of this type of ideology.

Likewise, a direct (or indirect) democracy would be individualist/egalitarian; since it allows the low-tier plebs to dictate state policy via voting.

All of this must take more deep thought than the average normie can handle, I suppose.

They can't accurately represent ideology with three dimensions, let alone one.

I always get the impression from Wiz's comments that he would do things differently if he had designed it or wasn't working for Paradox, but they're stuck with the framework the original developers made.
>>

They have shit range
You just mount them on large slots and use something else on the smaller ones
I just got myself a Gamma lazor drop so I will probably add them on small and medium slots instead of railguns

Problem with lazers is not that they are not good its that they need physics research which practically means you need to upgrade your entire fleet trough physics

Does anybody use disruptors on corvettes?

It seems like a logical choice, because corvettes are meant to fly-in and disable the enemy fleet's shields, so the bigger ships can hit them with long-range, anti-armor weapons.

That being said, do people typically only put anti-shield weapons on main design corvettes, or do you add harder-hitting weapons too? Would a disruptor/laser/plasma Interceptor corvette be good; or should it be disruptor/disruptor/plasma?

I tried to play as an energy weapon only empire in Stellaris 1.2, and I kept getting my shit rekt.

4 models

Soviet:

China System Defense:

>still good dps
>slow and no shield
World Best Corvette
>cheap
>its made of shit
Thing is all of them have 300 HP. Capitalist one have also 210p Shield.
But you can get 4 SyS DeF for that price and pay the same upkeep for 4(or 2 if you get twice of your Naval capacity).
They are also better at scaring AI away. And it doesn't matter that they die faster if you can bring twice(or fourth) that many as it mean more DAKKA.
Only downside its that they are slow.

>>168813794
Battleships are for Kinetic artillery and Giga cannons. They will hit faster than corvettes can fly and strip enemy shield.
Then Your corvettes get to enemy and attack armor(try mining laser).
>>
>>168814427
ok so if I make super basic corvettes then awesome, but I've still got other types of ships to make so that raises the question of what to do with their loadout since theres like 3 or 4 kinds of ballistics
>>
>>168813513
Autocannons have insane DPS but small range
Railguns have decent DPS and long range but lack a bit on accuracy

18th century society wasn't technically ancap or minarchist (with an i, not a typo), though.

The nobility system was based on perceived "divine right", or just the fact that the nobles controlled the military and police. Even if they made shitty decisions or bankrupted their kingdom, they could still stay in power due to this.

Ancap meritocracy is based on how objectively valuable your property and products are, though. In an ancap society, if a rich person fucks-up and goes bankrupt, the state won't be there to bail them out; and they'll be reduced to a pleb. This allows other people to rise up the ladder and become the new wealthy elite. The difference between 17th century aristocracy and modern ancap/minarchist thought is the concept of "privilege to rule."

Funnily enough though, Hoppe himself says that monarchy/aristocracy is better than modern democracy (from an ancap viewpoint), because it made for more de facto meritorious leaders. The logic being that a noble who is raised all his life to be king is more skilled than some democratic official who just knows how to appeal to the base (often non-meritorious or correct) desires of plebs.

Battleships have Giga cannons and Kinetic artillery.
>>
>>168814812
>>168814991
Now about Missiles
Missiles have good DPS, longest range and 100% accuracy all the time
But they can get shot down by PDs

On the other hand Torpedos are slower but harder too shoot down

I myself use the "Mount a torp on the corv and and fire at stabbing distance" strategy so they dont have the time to shoot them down
>>
I'm finding that in the late game all I'm building are battleships with kinetic arty and giga canons and destroyers kitted out for PD.

If I build carriers with all fighters would they do the destroyers job better?
>>
>>168815328
They also slow and disappear when target is destroyed.
SO if you shoot 10k missiles at one corvette and it get blow apart by first 10 the rest of them disappear which make gigantic lose of DPS.
>>
>>168815438
Also, I was using that mod that adds a bunch of new ships parts and ship classes, so I had three different classes of battleship. Not really that important, but just for clarity.

Also should I use battleship or cruiser sized carriers for PD?
>>
>>168815531

If you conquer another race's planets, you can use that race as slaves if you want.

If you're a xenophobe, just use the new race to colonize planets you want to designate as slave planets. Building a colony ship at a spaceport over their planet gives you the option to choose them as the colonizing race.

For instance, I conquered the Ix'Idar, and I use them to exploit arctic planets, and I also use them as cannon fodder when invading enemy planets. I send in like 5 Ix'Idar armies and watch them get slaughtered, before sending in my serious armies, because I think it's funny.

I just find it amazing how far Moon actually is as I expected it to be closer and actually never thought about it.
And its actually far. And moving small space shuttle by all this empty yet filled with radiation and who know what else space, land on the Moon, plant flag and come back?
Yeah amazing feat.
Hard to believe.

Well it happened, too bad.

Bible are just another myths or stories from a old times. Like any other mythology or old piece of work.
I always wonder why if some events written in the Bible actually happen its automatically see as proof for God existence.
Take Koran for example. It describe conquest of Arabian peninsula and rise of Mohamed pretty well - even if you take for account that it was written as a propaganda work, to glorify him and it was later redone and wrong copies were burned so only right version remain.
Bible is probably the same. Events probably happen, places really existed and some people named too. Sure some not but dunno if that was a fully work of fiction like Star Wars or DnD codex.

I was more about Old Testament that was mostly chronicles of kings, stories and laws or customs.
Also I remember some piece of paper where some guy argue that old Israel was located in Yemen or somewhere close and find cities or places that was supposed be in the Bible. Pretty neat. The current Israel was more like a colony with the new version of old names. Aka York - New York. Thing is guy was a Arab and it was taken fully as political statement. But I believe that it had some possibilities.

a unique building in your empire than unlocks the use of Pearls of Auriga.
Pearls spawn each winter on non-occupied tiles (presence of an anomaly, watchtower foundation or a unexploited resource counts as unoccupied), and individual pearls "lode" can drop more than one pearl of Auriga. Pearls will respawn on locations they already spawned if able.
Most notably, pearls can be spent on city-unique districts that are drastically better than basic district, with some specific requirement (presence of an anomaly/strategic/luxury resource). These improvements must be unlocked by spending a fixed amount of pearls.
Other pearls-unlocked functionalities are basically a waste of time and pearls.

Tbh, pearl mechanics is more of a gimmick, since there is no way to automate it and they don't spawn on borough tiles, while automated cities love to spend pearl-exclusive buildings if you have them unlocked at the altar.

I think Stellaris should use some armor class stuff for combat.
Right now battleships can't do anything to corvettes while corvettes will eventually whittle them away. But if they can't pierce the armor at all then there's a reason to have bigger ships.

Or just fucking try again with the tracking and evasion thing. Maybe give special weapons to big slots so there's a reason to have variety instead of just 100% plasma throwers like a large weapon with a kinetic scattershot that's essentially a massive cloud of sand that rips apart corvettes.

I would bet good money it will fail.
Probably even on, or near the launchpad.
I am amazed we could get away with shit we have been doing already in space and those had (number out of my ass:) say 10 fault points
JWST in proportion would have 100+. Its so fucking intricate and complicated that there is simply no way everything will go as planned, and its really isn't fault tolerant at all, as other simpler shit is. Note, most of our shit in space is "broken" or doenst work as planned, but we worked around it. With JWST, we simply wont be able to, since the result would be a VASTLY suboptimal performance, rendering the thing useless. Mirrors didnt open? down the drain (not salvagable like when galileos main antena not opening. Mind: that was caused because the craft got delayed and the lubricant dried up. JWST got delayed for MUCH longer. for the curious: we worked around it by using its smaller, navigational antena and compressing data more, but we still only got less than half the overall data from the craft we could have otherwise during its lifetime). Any other of the dozen opening parts didnt open? down the drain. One of the 8 Heathiseld foils messed up? down the drain. They fucked up the focus (like hubble) or other desing errors? down the drain. any regular satelite faliures like leaking/evaporating propellant, gyroscope issues, firmware errors, electornics frying in space, etc...? down the drain. And all that only if it even gets to space, when rockets are a whole new bags of explosive suprsies especialy if politics gets invovled and they are forced to use the largel untested senate launch system.

I realy hope i will be eating my words on this one, but that thing wont be happening. sorry bud.

militaristic capitalists like in: >>168816186

Build alliances as long as it's profitable, but attack and conquer if they have a moment of weakness. Ruse primitives into being your slaves. Make lots of trade deals that benefit you. Be very prejudiced against collectivists and always shit on them, though.

It would help to have the charismatic trait for your race. Be neutral on xenophobe/xenophile.

Stellaris needs to add more treaty/alliance options based on ethics.

One thing that bothers me is how the xenophobe mechanics work. As it stands, two xenophobes will always have a (percentage of) negative opinion of each-other, just like they do other races with different ethics.

However, when it comes to federation-building, two xenophobes could feasibly form a mutual alliance to oppose xenophiles. Basically "Lets agree that we both hate foreigners getting on our planets, and we should band together to keep it from becoming a galactic norm." That would be cool.

There could be other types of ethics alliances too. Basically, create a "war of ideas" option, with the ability to increase or influence the popularity of ethics in other empires using propaganda or intelligence agents. There have been similar mechanics in other Paradox games.
>>
I wouldn't usually ask for mod recommendations but I'm kinda overwhelmed by the amount of things I need to add to make stellaris not boring
So far I got: Colored pop status icons, Crystallis SME, Ethics&Government rebuild, Extended traits, Food Import/Export, Fox Leader, ISBS Doomsday, ISB Balance, More Events, Multiple Crisis, Spaceport modules extended, TFW's bunch of ship parts, _Advanced Buildings_

Missing anything obvious/important?
>>168850461
In general, stellaris needs ethics to be more dynamic than set-in-stone at start and only giving you a set of choices but still much harder to change than policies.
>>
>>168850871
Well, Banks will have changeable empire ethics finally
>>
>>168850871
>stellaris needs ethics to be more dynamic than set-in-stone at start and only giving you a set of choices but still much harder to change than policies

Utopia is going to make it so that you can have small percentages of all the ethics, and you can have political parties that can change your ethics to different ones if you give them government sponsorship (or if they manage to have a successful revolt), AFAIK. Also, your ethics will start to change based on the actions the main government takes. For instance, if you go to war all the time, your population will become more militarist

Adding to what I said earlier, it would be cool if you could have "galactic political parties" based on similar ethics; which super-cede basic alliances between empires. For instance, you could in in an alliance or NAP with a collectivist empire (likely due to necessity), but be a part of the galactic individualist movement.

Coming in 1.5 as part of the free update.

https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/index.php?threads/stellaris-dev-diary-54-ethics-rework.987286/

I'd like to see the 'factions' function as political parties in an Upper House a-la Victoria II, but even just this is going to be a massive improvement on internal politics.

>Stellaris’s next update is version 1.5, also called ‘Banks’, and today we learned about a new feature that will be added. >Traditions will accomplish this by adding seven different trees which reflect different sets of values, and a resource called ‘Unity’ that is spent to unlock them. The cost of unlocking a tradition will depend on the size of your empire, as well as its internal stability.

>“Unhappy factions, minority species and slaves all increase the cost of adopting traditions,” says Anward, “though these effects can be offset”. Generally, small, peaceful empires (playing ‘tall’, in strategy parlance) will unlock traditions faster than large, expansionist ones (playing ‘wide’).

>Unity is mainly earned through government buildings, such as mausoleums, monuments and temples. You’ll spend it unlocking tradition trees, and then on individual traditions. Each tree has a starter bonus, five unlockable traditions and a finisher bonus that is applied when you’ve completed the tree, much like Civ 5’s social policy trees.

>The seven trees are as follows:

Expansion: Focuses on growth through rapid colonization.
Domination: Focuses on maintaining control over your population and subjects.
Prosperity: Focuses on economic growth.
Harmony: Focuses on maintaining a happy and diverse population.
Supremacy: Focuses on growth through military conquest.
Purity: Focuses on strength through homogenity and dominion over other species.
Exploration: Focuses on exploration and scientific discovery.

colonise a 2nd planet asap
try to keep fleet power at your limit, don't be weak

>>
>>168857024
Old news. purity is gone right now.
>>
Let's say that I started with 2 planets that have 19 tiles next to me. Obviously I go for those first. But then there's also 3 planets with like 10-12 tiles 1 system away from where I started that are also my preferred type. Should I colonize those?
>>
>>168857024
Domination/Expansion/Supremacy.

Yes.
>>
>>168857097
And Paradox has still yet to address this issue of their DLC's getting pirated?
>>
>>168857493
No you should only colonize planets with 20% habitability
>>
>>168857493
Yes.
It will increase your tech cost but its worth.
If they are small just build them with labs and enough energy to sustain it and sector it.
Small planets should be self sustained research centers(some mineral and energy production) because you don't lose any research when you sector it. You want keep big ones to your self as core and build them fully as mines or energy plants.
Also on small one you can build space ports that increase your naval cap.
>>168814427
Look at this post and picture.
Cheaper corvettes cost less and allow you to afford more and its better to have 2x low tech corvettes than half high tech ones. With cheap ones you can go 2x over your naval capacity and still pay the same as for the costly one and have 2x more corvettes.
>>
>>168857321
>try to keep fleet power at your limit, don't be weak

This, definitely.

The AI always tries to get maximum fleet capacity; so if you don't do so also, you're screwed.

You can technically get away with a smaller fleet if you make better quality ships that support each-other in their roles, though.
>>
>>168857493
>10-12 tiles
literally garbage
>>
>>168858304
Also, during a war, you need to build over the maximum fleet capacity so you can have reinforcements on hand when your ships start getting destroyed.

After the war is over, you can disband the extra ships to get back to a positive budget.

I had them switched before, but I want to experiment with fleet composition. (Cutting out Corvettes and Destroyers while having long-range cruisers provide the main fire while the carriers offer point defense and strikecraft for close range.)

My theory is that since strikecraft are useless in reasonable numbers, I'll try and gear my fleet around spamming as many carriers as possible so they'll overwhelm the enemy with numbers.

Fighters are useless when you have corvettes/destroyers anyway since they hilariously go slower than either.

Found the answer to my own question:
https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/index.php?threads/stellaris-dev-diary-57-species-rights.995302/

>Livestock: This represents a species that is regularly culled to be used as food. Livestock produce a fixed number of extra food, but are completely unable to produce any other kind of resource.

>Processing: The species is processed into food for the consumption of other Pops. Pops being Processed generate a fixed amount of food and die off at a fairly fast pace, but cannot be put to use producing any other resources.

Livestock is listed as a type of Slavery and Processing is listed as a type of Purging. Then that would imply that Xenophobes, who can both enslave and purge aliens, have access to eating aliens.

Same boring plot that's not gone anywhere in 40 years. The setting has required talented writers outside of the company to be dragged in to write stories that are good but still don't change the status quo stagnation. Think of the setting just off of what's in the game books and ignore anything from /tg/ or any of the novels written, and what do you have left?

On top of that, they're killing all their tabletops. All they have left is Vermintide and Dawn of War 3. If we're lucky, Sega/Relic will buy the license to 40k and do something interesting with it.

Oh don't worry, balance in 1.5 will be broken as fuck.

In order for balance to happen they need to buff laser accuracy a little bit (to use large laser destroyers at long range vs corvettes... already useful but not good enough at 85% accuracy and 5% tracking) and buff hyperdrive and missiles. It wont happen in 1.5.

Btw you civ fags can tell me if civics are restricted to government type?
>>
>>168888960

Something tells me that hive mind ethos will have difficulty absorbing other pops. That sucks because you either lose slaves or new races to colonize different worlds. In other words you expand slowly.
>>
>>168889780
Civ 5 doesn't really have government types in the traditional sense. Civ 6 does, and the active government determines what classes of civics you can use(red/yellow/green/purple) and how many of each type. No individual civics are locked to specific governments though

What I have noticed is that the inhabitable worlds are significantly less making you having to invest in terraforming in mid game, especially if you are xenophobe
Also the mobs are less frequent but stronger so you have to invest a bit to find them take them out for drops like regeneration hull or arc emmiters than just having them all in the first 10 years

I want to branch my species to adapt to all types of planets. But it only lets me modify entire planets, which basicly makes the current colonists allaergic ot their planet. SO i thought i will colonize the new planet and then change my fuckers to adapt to it. Except i cant colonioze planets with less than 40% habitability, so that wont work either. Guess all thats left is to double-tap a planet as i change the guys to the adaptaion i want, make colony ships, then change them back.

It probably means that it offers no benefits or downsides, and is just a direct conduit for the player.

Think of this way, every ideology gets buffs to certain things and can have certain edicts, but can't have certain others either at all or without a massive happiness or divergence penalty.

Hivemind will probably be no divergence and no happiness penalties for anything, whether it be certain policies or purging pops, yet without having any clear advantage like +15% minerals/energy etc.

My first playthrough as Sumer and I had the game in the bag by the start of the Classical. Just spam war-carts because they cost no upkeep and take out civilizations before they either have walls or spearmen. On top of that you have a constant flow of inspirations from barb camps and science and culture from Ziggurats.

I underestimated Gilgy, but how do you even defend against him. There really is no hard counter to War-carts that early. I could have only built nothing but warriors rushed archery and even then I'm not sure if I would have necessarily held my own.

Any Civ V Vox Populi modpack (also known as Community Balance Patch) players here? I'm trying to transition from playing Emperor to Immortal (inb4 abloo bloo deity from vanilla players, this modpack is way way harder than unmodded deity). A number of the changes over the past year have made the AIs spiral out of control in the early game, especially the "no free policy on founding cap" change. While I like to play on HellBlazer's Pangaea map with legendary starts, it's too swingy with these AIs and their free workers + faster improvement times and relies too much on lucky capring monopolies and/or taking other legendary start caps quickly. Further, I subjectively feel like there is an issue where it seems to REALLY like making first player spawn on coast, and I'm pretty sick of being locked into the ancient era water techs. I'm thinking I'll try on standard start regular Pangaea, standard size/pace, all random civs.

I still have very limited understanding of how the modded AI thinks about diplomacy with other AIs, so I often fail to spot in advance a looming AI "let's all be friends and run away" situation, and am not quite sure what I would do about it anyways.

Here.

I got sick and tired of the trait mods I use being incompatible with each other, so I did something about it.

http://www.mediafire.com/file/i9e4pprdu43lv4s/00_species_traits.txt

Basically what you do is open up Natural Selection and Additional Traits in Steam > Steamapps > Workshop > Content > 281990 and delete the 00_species_traits.txt in both .zip folders. (Tip, unsub and then subscribe again and the folders for the mods will be at the top if you have sorted with whatever file got changed last.

Then you replace the 00_species_traits.txt in Extended Traits with the custom one and wa la they suddenly work together without overwriting the same fucking files.

You need these mods for it to work.

http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=681576508
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=681816257

I also use this one but the modder isn't a retard and didn't overwrite vanilla files so it works with everything.

http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=683175110

Everything should work, probably.

for civ v (probably a lot of this applies to vi too but I don't play that shit) keep an eye on the demographics, particularly average military score. The AI is much more likely to attack you when you are weaker than it, so not only can having military help you win a defensive war, it can even dissuade the AI from attacking you in the first place. It's painful to make units when there are more buildings, especially when the cheaty AI is ahead of you on infrastructure, but you really, really need to. Capturing an additional nice city is worth a lot more than a handful of buildings, especially since the higher level cheaty AIs are able to make buildings and population faster than you. Without a really good setup, you're just not going to be able to out-sim-city the AIs peacefully...you NEED to take their unfairly good cities.

So,
a) military keeps you alive
b) military can prevent defensive wars, which otherwise really waste your building queue time
c) taking the AI's unfair cities is like using units to create buildings worth more production than the units themselves

Always keep fleet up to limit. Always. Even if all you can build is shitty corvettes. Build starports everywhere, colonize everything so you can have more naval capacity.
Prefer cheap models over costly one,
more ships=more firepower and more HP
before war start build up over your maximum capacity and stockpile resources.
Good way to build ships is to have star port with specific factory, fleet academy and governor with fleet background as its make ships cheaper and build them faster

I am incapable of planning anything in advance. I like /egg/ games like factorio, but even IRL I fail at not doing anything immediately.

In short, I have no short or long term strategy.

Any games you guys can recommend that foster this kind of thinking? Basically games that with the appropriate settings/mods/experience demand creating a strategy?

I was trying to avoid games that required immediate action (starcraft) and were more apt to afford you the time to think for yourself and decide.

So I just played Civ V for the first time today. I thought I was off to a good start until the asshole Somalian guy kept converting all my people to Eastern Orthodox. I repeatedly kept converting them back to Judaism, but then he sent over like 5 missionaries and kept converting them back.

Then I went over to his territory and converted his cities to Judaism. Then he got pissed off and told me to fuck off. I tried to tell him to fuck off, then he became hostile. He kept mocking the size of my territory, then he declared war on me and I died.

First of all, does it matter if my people are converted to a different religion? Secondly is there any way to prevent it from happening without war?
>>
>>168964607
>First of all, does it matter if my people are converted to a different religion?
Only if they found their own religion.
>>168964607
>Secondly is there any way to prevent it from happening without war?
Park an inquisitor in the city so at least missionaries wouldn't be able to convert for shit.
>>
>>168964607
>does it matter
It matters if you want the benefits of your religion. Founder benefits can be powerful and the more of your cities are converted the less pressure your religion has in the region, a slippery slope that could lead to most of your religion dying out and you getting no benefits.

>prevent it without war
Outproduce him in faith, convert his cities, and I guess have a military big enough for him to not fuck with you. That's unlikely though at moderate difficulties because the AI always underestimates the player. When you know what you are doing one of your units is worth two of theirs because they don't know how to use them. But the AI doesn't realize that and thinks if you have a military half the size of theirs then they should be able to conquer you easily.

A lot of times war is necessary.

So in Stellaris, I've never gotten as far as to have sectors, or I've limited myself so I don't have to deal with them.
But if I have a bunch of small shitty planets that I want to be research centers, how do I go about that? Do I build enough hydroponics to support the population and then queue up labs and then put it in a sector?

So how do i make stellaris not shit?

With default settings i get surrounded my fagots at spawn who make a federation as asoon as i take out one of them then im stuck.
g given a litle breathing chance by lowering the ammount of fagots spawned, i snowball so hard, no matter how advanced the AI is tehy cant do shit and the game is basicaly won before endgame cysises even get a chance to happen.

Collectivist-Spiritualist(plus xenophile or materialist or fanatic)
Scout early for primitives - invade with like 3-5 ass armies
tech<more planet, more minerals, more energy, more naval capacity, more ship
Build cheapest corvettes possible, upkeep is calculated as % of building cost, with cheap one you can build more and easily go over naval capacity(and they still have the same HP and similar dakka)

With Utopia would I finally be able to have a good tall build?
I just hate all these micro with conquered nations, sectors and endless boring wars, I want to have a comfy small empire and not be rekt at the same time.
>>
>>168999951
Wiz said that wide is still better than tall, but tall will be viable.
>>
>>168999869

They're Tier I universal perks, some of them are shamelessly shitty but stuff like Imperial Prerogative or Defender of the Galaxy will be incredibly useful.

>>168999951

Absolutely, building Tall is a feature they've been talking about again and again for Utopia.

To give a bit of explanation how you can build Tall, you can now construct Megastructures that do anything from provide huge amounts of energy (Dyson Spheres), create Ringworlds in otherwise barren systems (providing you with 4+ 25 tile gaia worlds) or even Habitats, which are stations orbiting otherwise uninhabitable planets that produce minerals, research and energy.
>>
>>169000160
>Imperial Prerogative
Right, who doesnt want to micromanage 10 planets
>>
>>169000228
It actially seems like a good idea for playing tall, without sectors.
>>
>Habitats
They're basically buildable 12 tile planets with unique buildings.
>>
>>169000340

Most "Tall" nations aren't even going to have 10 individual habitable systems.
>>
>>169000228
I do, since the micro in Stellaris is so retardedly easy that it's not even really micro
>>
>>169000228
Fuck sectors, the AI is useless, I'd rather micromanage.

>>

>micromanage 10 planets

Anon...

... The number of base core sectors you can have has been reduced to 3, now certain government types and early-game techs give extra core sectors.
>>
>>169000398
Habitats would be really OP.
Some systems have like 6-8 planets and you could hang one one each other.
Which is stupidly Op as you can get plenty of energy or research this way and build plenty of habitats in one system(costing one core system).
>>169000228
Micro is more effective than sectors even without tax.
>>
>>168999869
not a complete list up either~ there is over 20 atm
>>
>>169000160
I really fucking hope that ringworlds is a very, very late tech, otherwise the whole galaxy will just end up filled with them.
>>
>>169000585
>and early-game techs
Exactly
Unless I am mistaken, ancesion perks are achieved later in the game so you will already have at least 5 in the bag
>>
>>169000469
Why not? Just getting to the max core system without getting further into sectors seems like a tall play to me.
>>
>>169000667

Since there's 8 listed here >>168999279, I assume this means there are three tiers of Focus perks with a unique capstone for each.

Wiz said they've increased the chance in 1.5. Also, tomb world preference and a shitload of planets in your home system for free is fucking great.

Turning into the Messenger species is a separate plot thread and not necessary for the end-game, which is turning your home system into a fully inhabitable black hole.

How can I be more ancap?

So far I have got migration treaties with 2 empires to start filling up the planets in my empire which my native species can't settle on. I've built entertainment building and enabled edicts to increase happiness and migration on those planets. The other empires pops have left their home planets in droves and now I'm brainwashing them to turn to my ethics. Feels pretty ancap senpai.

One thing that's fucking me off is the interdimensional horror which is blocking the only hyper lane to a large unsettled region of the galaxy. My fleet is at like 10K my dudes, can I take him?>>168849229
