This deck lacks a turn 5 play and any form of reach, so most of the time you will be playing it on turn 5 in order to fuel up your shadow for Death's Breath. And in mordecai mirror, that reach will be important to seal the game with more than a 13/13 next turn.

You are right, I kept it in there to play the deck as it was shown but you can take it out if you want.
Most of the time it barely comes into play, some matches you can use it to clear stuff so your bahamut can hit face but that's such specific situation that you might as well fill in with some other 5 drop and get more 4 drops.

What actually counters Dshift consistently? I've bricked even with roach and aggro sword though I haven't done that matchup at a large enough sample size that I can say it's a good or bad matchup given my decks. I seem to encounter Dshift the most when playing Haven.
