First for Jake is pure.
Air game was a mistake.
pistols are useful
female operator armor WHEN
Reposting from last thread
>The file is in russian by default but you can change it to english pretty easily. I didn't think it'd be this quick that Long War 2 was cracked but, there it is. I couldn't find a separate torrent or anything so you'll have to download the entire game + dlcs again to get the mods but it's only 20 gigs or so to d/l so it really doesn't take that long to do.
Just google Long War 2 Crack or something similar to that, if you're pirating a mod for a pirated game I'm not going to spoonfeed you 100% of the way, but Long Dong 2 has been successfully hacked.
Frag grenades always blow up cars in LW
>>166319396
???
It's just normal operator armor on a woman.
>>166319230
I'm going to edit this with Jake asap
eta: 50 hours in photoshop
>>166319563
yes and aside from the SAS stuff nobody is bothering to make female versions of operator ports because they can't be bothered to scale it.
>>166319563
this, there's no difference and the game already does it
>got used to play with lots of mods
>now i have to give up most of them for LW2
oh the pain
>Best helmet
>Actually will move the skyranger to evac troops
>Only xcom/x-com pilot to have to deal with alien controlled airspace
Reminder that Firebrand is the best x-com/xcom skyranger pilot period.
>>166319774
>the game already does it
how do i fix the camera stuck under the avenger glitch after a mission?
>>166321525
remove any of those avenger random button mods
>"Light" enemy activity
>4 squads all in range of eachother
>Trigger one trigger them all
I hate this fucking game
>>166321525
Exit game completely and reload the latest save, hopefully right before extract.
How do I fix squads being stuck "infiltrating" or "on mission" long after their missions have been completed in LW2? I've reinstalled the game and the mod, and LW2 is the only mod I'm using this time but I still get the issue on a fresh campaign.
>>166321661
>avenger random button
i dont have any
[Grazed] 1!
>>166322049
>NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
>>166321906
I just know its a avenger menu mod that causes that bug
>>166322049
>POINT BLANK, NO COVER DODGES
So can you not flashbang already disoriented enemies to remove their overwatch in LW2?
>>166322243
Not necessarily, I'm playing pure Long Wang and I'm getting the same bug non-stop. No other mods have ever even been installed.
>>166322270
Sounds like an oversight, but on the bright side it's virtually impossible for a disoriented overwatch to actually hit anything.
>>166322334
Some people are reporting that if you remove Anarchy's Children, it fixes the issue.
only terrorists support the xcom project. we should all fall in line with our alien friends
>>166322807
Completely exit the game and reload the latest save. If you don't actually exit you'll get it again.
I've just been making a manual save right before the mission ends to fix this shit when it happens, so you don't have to replay the final turn or anything.
>>166322049
>>166320348

Fucking vorefags
>>166323438
At least it kind of makes sense for snakes. The human vorefags are far worse.
That's a nice op. I only lost one civie because of the shoot on activation mechanic. Technicals and Shinobis really shine when you get into those very claustrophobic close contact situations.
>>166323102
how human fit past snayyk humanoid collerbone and ribcage?
why humans so tiny, or maybe snayyk is big???
I've only beaten the base X2 game on veteran/ironman. Should I do a commander run before moving to LW2 or should I just jump right into it?
Sounds about right.
>>166324093
Bones could be a flexible cartilage.
>>166324371
Definitely get a commander campaign under your belt imo
>>166319441
Why would a mod that doesn't alter the .exe need a crack?
>>166324742
Long Dong has a check for a legitimate copy. Won't work if its not.
>>166324371
Straight into long war, bone dry with no protection. Embrace the suffering, this is XCOM.
That is what I would tell you, but actually wait a week or two for mod compatibility and bugfixes to catch up.
Has anyone made a Quake Guy character to be a Ranger?
>>166324936
yeah I'll probably go for a commander campaign for a few weeks then give lw a shot
How do I get rid of timers for LW2?
>>166323354

Being XCOM that means it's about 50/50, but that's still up from 100%.

how hard do sectopods hit for? I've played 2 campaigns and theyre so scary i've never let one shoot at me
What are required ass mods? I already miranda squadmate and the Siege 6 armor and I can't go back to vanilla flat-assed female legs.
Pic unrelated I just like this squad.
>>166325474
well they can shoot twice and also have this giant death ray thing

>after a long, brutal fight thing its over
>10 more teleport in

>carrything three dudes who died but are carrying my laser weapons
>finally get everyone within dashing distance of the evac zone
>move first soldier onto it
>no option
>only the fucking resistance recruiters can evac there
>evac fucking leaves and signals they'll be coming back in 4 turns

>>166325750

>>166323438
>>166326137
If it wasn't fetish related this would be a cool boss enemy. Imagine the tail taking up multiple spaces behind the main "unit" which is just the humanoid part of the snake.
>>166325474
They shoot twice and due to the nature of how they work will almost always hit you. They also tend to crit alot. At the end of their turn will usually use their last move setting up a cone-based death ray beam that will fire next turn. Get the fuck out of the way it is highly likely anyone caught in will be 1 shot.
>every longwar 2 mission ends with wave after wave of aliumns teleporting on top of you for 9 turns

>>166325984
>>166325843
its too boring i had to stop after a couple hours
>>166326410
youre supposed to evac
you get xp from missions more than enemies now
>>166326473
gl with lw2 if you found vanilla boring then retard lmao
>>166326410
your fault for not calling evac sooner dunkass
>>166326276
Being a cool boss and being fetish related aren't mutually exclusive.
Viper Queen when
>>166326545
I completed the mission and called in an evac after I realized the enemies were dead.
First a normal transport showed up with 4 soldiers and a drone.
Then 10+ aliumns would teleport 5 feet away from me.
I had to wait 9 turns before I could evac. Am I supposed to call for evac 8 turns before I complete the objective?
>>166326580
tbqh different guy but i found xcom 2 vanilla to feel like shit and so far long war 2 feels pretty decent
>>166326758
Feeling like "shit" and being "boring" are two different things.
Fundamentally LW2 is a lot slower and less action packed, which is great in its own way.
>>166319103
Hey guys I wanna play XCOM real bad especially now that Long War is out. HOWEVER it runs like dogshit for me, especially in the menus. It's playable but truly a struggle. Any advice on optimizing?
>Steam deleted all my mods and now is redownloading all of them
>trying to update mod to work for long dong 2
>can't even get it to build so i can test it
>now i have to wait for it to finish downloading hundreds of mods to even try again
>inb4 it deletes them all again for no reason
I'm fucking triggered.
>>166326860
yeah that's fair, so who knows if that fella will like LW2 but there certainly is at least some precedent for enjoying it when you found vanilla borderline unplayable.
>>166326729
>Am I supposed to call for evac 8 turns before I complete the objective?\
You're supposed to do it the same turn you're revealed. The only reason to not put down an evac site immediately is it breaks concealment.
>>166326993
why? Why not make firebrand arrive in 2 turns? Its silly.
>when the mission is on a small map
>>166327116
because it makes you have to plan ahead?

Turn AO off or on Tile AO. Don't use MSAA. Turn of DoF not just because its a performance hit but because its a fucking cancer effect.
>>166327154
>when the enemy is swarming on a small map
>>166327116
It can, it depends on what you took on the mission, ADVENT's preparedness, and the threat level of the mission. Generally, the less you take and the lower their preparedness, the faster you can go. I've seen 1-turn evacs on Legend, it definitely shouldn't be taking you 9 turns.
>>166326714
She should have power over electricity, that way she'd be pretty electrifying.
>>166327265
Thanks senpai. I'll give it a go.
>>166327198
I'm supersized you're able to reply with the developer's cock so down your throat
>>166327368
Ah! Thanks for the info. Yes I didn't wait to infiltrate and I see how that would change a lot of factors.
>>166327116
Evac Timer is reduced by higher infiltration %
If you went in their balls deep to a Heavy enemy force its going to take forever.
>>166327337
>When you accidentally blow up the EVAC zone with a rocket and it gets moved across the map
How do I fix resistance HQ not appearing on the geoscape map? I can adjust resistance tasks through the menu, but I can't fly my Avenger there. Mousing over the radio mast symbol zooms the map to the arctic ocean, north of the Bering Strait, which I'm guessing is map origin or something.
It happened once, and I redid Gatecrasher, only to have it happen again. I can waste three days scanning for the black market, but after that, I can no longer pass time because there's nowhere for the Avenger to go.
>>166327490
>Ah! Thanks for the info. Yes I didn't wait to infiltrate and I see how that would change a lot of factors.
Don't fucking do that shit. Infiltration is basically the biggest thing you need to be doing. Always go with the smallest squad you can reasonably get away with (for certain missions, a two man team is best). Always infiltrate as much as you can. Don't think about it like normal X2, where you jam the A-Team every mission, LW2 is far more subtle and complex.
>>166327490
>I'm supersized
>>166327695
How do you do a mission with a 2 man group?
>>166327843
>Remember, this is a sneaking mission
>>166327843
Stealth and running a lot.
Basically, shinobi/specialist for hacks/jailbreaks and shinobi/sniper for kill the VIP missions. You use the shinobi to scout out pods and move around them while you use the specialist/sniper as a mission expert who does their thing. You toss an evac the turn you go loud/hack the objective and leg it the fuck out of there. If you killed an enemy, YOU DID IT WRONG.
>>166327843
Solid snaking and delaying tactics. Make sure you have 15+ mobility and only attempt it on Very light and below
>>166327843
I don't know, i can do the whole sneaking thing but by the end when you have to call in firebrand it just gets fucked, my 3 guys can't survive 3 pods of ayys shooting at them for 4 turns.
>>166325531
Titanfall ports have only 2 legs for the females, but they both have a nice ass.
>>166327843
If you really need or want to do the mission but can bring a sizeable force to execute it you'll need to rely on small numbers and stealth.
Having 1 Shinobi go in, get the VIP, and get out completely undetected has been one of the tensest things I've done in XCOM.
>>166328063
Also, you need to infiltrate the enemies down to Very Light/Extremely Light. Otherwise it doesn't work, too many enemies who can spot you.
I'm literally watching a streamer who helped test LW2 do shit like this on L/I right now, so I know it works. It takes practice and a new mindset, but it definitely works.
> ; Chance an alien ruler gets a bonus action, set to 100% for vanilla behavior
ALIEN_RULER_ACTION_BONUS_APPLY_CHANCE=25
So in Long Dong 2 aliens rulers get a 1/4 chance to react to your turns, fucking NICE
>>166328451
Lame.
>>166328451
Which INI is that?
>>166328558
Change it yourself if you want to, but if you think a Long War 2 version of an ayy ruler should get a turn every time you take an action on one of your squad members of potentially 10, then good fuckin luck m8
>>166328629
LW_Overhaul.ini
>>166328819
I'm a big fan of the rulers so i would actually prefer it if they did take a turn every time one of your units did something. That said, my problem isn't that they don't, my problem is that now it's RNG whether they do or not so you can't really plan for it.
Assuming of course that is what that line means, i haven't fought them in LW2, for all i know that means there's a 25% chance they get an additional turn when your units do something, which i also wouldn't like.
>>166329237
Then change it back to 100 so it's back to vanilla behavior, it's a pretty quick fix. I'll take my chances with the rng gods, because rulers show up with a pod anyway and I don't need something 100% guaranteed to get a reaction everytime I do anything on top of Long Dong's larger pod sizes
>>166328819
>LW_Overhaul.ini

Is there at least some kind of debug command to skip Gatecrasher? I'm starting to get sick of it.

>>166328270
Do you still gain xp for it?
How do you level your killteam so they don't get raped on terror missions?
>>166337775
Missions are the primary XP givers, not enemies. Kill XP is still a thing, but it is much smaller than mission XP. Just showing up on a mission, successful or not, gives you XP.

In fact, rookies auto-level for going on a mission, so a trick you can use to level a few rookies easily is to go on a mission, hide in a corner, immediately throw an evac zone, and wait out the clock. They'll both rank up to Squaddie.

Ripping a model varies by engine. Some engines like Source have established tools, things like Unreal as well. In most cases it's better to just find one that's already been ripped, like in the case of Siege where ripping them is a nightmare, and that's just for the model, let alone the texture.
To rig it all you need is the XCOM 2 SDK to extract the XCOM 2 soldier skeleton, then using a model software of your choice scale and adjust it so that the bits and pieces line up over the skeleton, and deform accordingly with parent bones and whatnot.
Honestly the hardest part is textures, in pretty much every case. The textures rarely look like vanilla XCOM 2 props and look even weirder unless you doctor them extensively, most people just don't bother with it.
Just google rips of the models you want and get Blender and the XCOM 2 SDK.

Wew, just had my first huge Long War 2 bug.
Got a monument destruction mission (vanilla gatecrasher), after I finished it I just got a black screen with the ambient city noises still playing, and I could pause it too, but nothing else happening.
Magnificent.
>>166337762

>>166345407
>>166345536
You have to do a advent tower mission before the base assault and it's a pain in the ass since it only lets you bring five operators
>>166345536Did you also get the boss advent dude with dickload of health/armor/defense? Luckily for me he decided to sit in a fire a continually hunker down. Worst part about that mission was the hueg pod sizes though
>>166345536
>>166345620
So how do I come across this ADVENT Tower mission? Just put a bunch of guys on Intel and scan until it pops up?
>>166345784
If you look here:
>>166338502
You can see what a mission will do in the objective section right under the actual mission goal.
Here you can see it says GET ADVENTS ATTENTION, winning this mission makes advent send more legions to the region you complete the mission in.
Some of the missions say they'll help liberate a region, after you do one or two of these they'll reveal the region's tower, completing the tower reveals the HQ.
>>166346103
So do more missions saying GET ADVENTS ATTENTION, eventually I'll get a few Liberate missions, then the tower will appear.
>>166346316
No, the missions that get their attention are a separate thing to liberating.
I think you can see the progression in the geoscape objectives. Long dong adds a new list of checkboxes for liberating a region.
>>166346316
>>166346470
I think you have to complete a mission with a "find a lead" reward, and one of the possible leads goes to the network tower/liberation chain. It doesn't seem like there's any way to speed this up other. Not sure though.

And yes, same thing. They added more neat features but they aren't very creative beyond, "More aliens, more health."
Are officers worth it in LW2?
>>166347809
Theres still high numbers of ayys in LW2 but they don't have ramped up health. Instead hit mechanics and cover defense values were tweaked for both you and them to extend firefights instead of having too much health to kill in 1 turn. Its still possible to take out multiple hostiles in a single turn, but you have to work for it and think about your positioning.

Do Liberation missions. Some missions will be tagged as Liberation missions. After you do three (IIRC) successfully, the Network Tower opens up. Defeating the Blacksite opens the Avatar Project. Defeating the ADVENT HQ liberates the region permanently.

Condition orange senpai. You made noise and it alerted patrols, they get itchy trigger tentacle if they're alert. They'll take the scatter if they have no good shot but if someone's exposed they're gonna shoot. You have to take the entire battle space into account all the time, abusing sight ranges to expose your own side to flank and no-covering to blam the last ayy standing was never properly punished in EU.
>>166356156
This webm plus the fact that my ranger got discovered by a fucking civilian makes me think why there isnt a mod that lets you take down silently or KO civilians.
There should be some sort of negative side to it, like soldier morale going down, but it could be great for the fucking stealth ops you need to run now.

>>166336539
NO.
Do not use NCE, while it can give you shit like 53 aim rookies, the real problem with it is that around half of your roster will get NEGATIVE defence.
This makes you easier to hit, I wondered why ADVENT was hitting troops in full cover so reliably in my first few attempts and it was because over half of my troops had rolled negative def (some down to -8!).
Do not use that shit.

>>166365384
The stats are balanced so that every rookie will have strengths and weaknesses. Your first 9 in gate crasher are fucked by RNG but the rest should be able to be optimised into their classes, they are the reason why you can get 17 base mobility shinobis and god snipers that hit anything
>>166365378

A soldier with 70 aim will have 35% chance to hit a floater with an AR, and 25% with BR assuming he blue moves every turn. This is offset by a 66% chance of kill with the BR and 33% with AR if you do hit. This means roughly 12% ctk with AR and 17% with BR by the most conservative estimate.

Times are worse depending on the map.
I feel people who think they're fine have been really lucky when it comes to map/objective placement because I've had plenty of times where everything went to shit with too little time and plenty of times where things went by smoothly.
>>166390617
No and no. Timers are basically the same, just bigger maps necessitating different tactics. Avatar Project is hidden at first and requires a good amount of effort to unlock. It can kill you before you find it, so finding it is a recommended idea.
>>166391407
Or people are playing on Rookie (which is fine) and are baffled that everybody else isn't breezing through pods and getting to the objective with turns in hand every time (which is not fine).
>>166391407
I guess. I just tend to get lots of 13 turn missions, and then the 9 turn missions are just the destroy the relay or hack the uplink stuff. And then you can officers on the ground extend mission timers by 2.
When people talk about sprinting everywhere and never fighting I'm not really sure what they mean.
And if you are doing the rescue mission, just make sure you have a nice squad get the enemy activity down to extremely light and then sneaking too the objective and dealing with any light contact is a cinch.
>>166391651
You mean veteran.
>>166390881
I've been using Technicals. The flamethrower's range makes it pretty situational and you don't get very many rockets, so they don't have a lot to do in most encounters.
I've heard recon sharpshooters are pretty good, you can use a lot of abilities from concealment.
How long does it take for ADVENT strength to decay? I've had the whole cell in hiding for two paychecks and the A.s. is still increasing.

Nigga black scientist is an inversion which has been done a ton of times before, the problem with Tygan is that they made him a little too autistic and could've been more animated as a character certainly.
I do get where you're coming from though, but an anon earlier in the thread made the point well.
If Tygan had adjusted his glasses more, had a bit more of an oversized labcoat and had a little bit more to say than 'intriguing' then he'd work better as a character.

Same old story, weren't able to make it to the extraction point in time. Granted, i did a lot of stupid shit like exposing my tech to flamethrower 2 mecs, and then trying to haywire protocol said mechs in panic after flamethrower plan failed. Haywire failed too, so i was fucked at this point. Lost 2 guys to that pack, the rest were to slow to get to the landing zone in time.
How difficult is it to recover from 5 deaths at once in LW2? I'm already relly low on supplies, and strong shit like mechs is starting to appear, i'm not sure if i'll be able to continue on with a squad full of rookies.
>>166400962
You cannot interpret stats.
The lack of super-genius blacks is due to the the lack of emphasis on the sciences in our society, especially for blacks. Our shitty education system is also at fault.

So, I should grab an Officer and Command them to come back after a Run & Gun even if they don't reveal anything just to minimize the risk of patrols coming in and flanking them?
It's a good solution, and I'll try to steer more towards it, but I will say I'm still not a fan of this whole patrols can move and fire on activation bullshit as there's little I feel I can do to counter it. If they can just run up out of fog of war on a flank, them move again after activation to closer range and then fire on my flanks, it's a bit watch. If it was Overwatch or something I'd probably feel differently, but as is it kinda reminds me of how Rulers break the turn economy of XCOM 2.
>>166402359
>Do flamethrower damage mechs?
There's a Technical perk that allows it, IIRC.
>>166402465
You don't have that many command charges, so you probably need other solutions as well. One thing, is that once the fighting starts, patrols will always move towards you, becuase they are drawn by all the loud noises and explosions. You can also try packing some smoke grenades, and a shinobi so that you have a better idea of where all the pods are will help as well.
>>166402531
Good to know. I'm trying out one of my technicals on the fire perks.
>No fatigue

johnny is losing his touch
>>166402724
Alright, I'll certainly keep that in mind from now on about the patrols moving closer. Should remember that more now since there's a danger to incoming patrols. I think part of it is that I've been on a bit of an injury spiral during the first half dozen missions and am often having to figure out what to make do with when certain missions pop up.
Speaking of, roughly how many infiltrations should I have going at once? And should I not bother going below six squad members typically unless it involves some specialized stuff (like Assassinations)?
Also, unrelated, but thanks for taking a bit of time to answer this stuff. Only had a few hours to play so far and can't find any guides that are detailed well enough yet.
>>166402724

can i pirate Xcom 2 and play lw or am i fucked
Does X2 take obnoxiously long to boot from steam for anyone else? It's such a pain having to reboot repeatedly to trial-and-error test mod compatibility and have to wait 5 minutes for the launcher to come up each time.
>>166403626
I've been running three infiltration at time with about 4-6 man squads pretty consistently. I think the important thing is just making sure you aren't gambling too much with your soldiers. For example, two man stealth missions are possible, but I feel if they go wrong you run out of options really quickly, whether you have trained veterans or not and the reward won't ever be worth losing even one veterant. There are so many mission where you can get in with extremely light contact while still packing a 4-5 man squad. Keep in mind you can always bring a larger squad you have time for and then use an intel boost to make it in time.
Five man squads are the sort of pseudo default squad size that still gives decent firepower. This is all personal experience though, and this just from my time with a veteran campaign.
>>166404142
I've found if I am using the default launcher it take forever. The alternate X2 launcher though is way quicker.

1 ranger

How mech-focused is late game in LW2? In LW if you had no answer to 100 hp discs and mechtoids you were basically fucked. It felt like picking anything anti-mech was always the best choice. Is LW2 the same?
what songs do you listen to while rocking the alien menace?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bJ9r8LMU9bQ
>>166406581
Ok. So definitely rework your squad comp. Grenadiers and rangers are top tier. 1 specialist is all you really need, some don't event take 1 (I definitely prefer one myself or the utility and distance objective hacking). Sharpshooters are fine, but defnitely no more than 1.
Change up your squad to be more like 2 grenadiers, 2 rangers, 1 marksman, 1 specialist.
Spec on grenadier for mostly explosives, spec one grenadier with some shooty perks. Take armor shredding. Spec your specialists to be a for combat (offensive gremlin perks) and have him bring the medkit. Spec your marksman however you want, but I am partial to gunslingers myself.
Spec your rangers primarily for shotguns and concealment perks. Ignore swords in vanilla, they can't compete with intelligence and shotguns.
Is it possible to avoid UFOs? You can spend a month playing cat and mouse with it, but at the end of the month it always seems to just teleport and instantly get you.
>play on veteran
>2nd mission on 80% infiltration, defense extremely light
>escort VIP all the way up to extraction point
>engage first group of the map
>2nd group walks in while fighting
>3rd group walks in while fighting
>squad gets wiped
>its the 2nd mission
Is the balance going to get tweaked a bit, or hands off Iron Man mode forever?
>>166406996
>>166406581
Expanding on this, you can give your gunner grenadier blue screens, or your gunslinger blue screen rounds to absolutely wreck any mechanical units, including sectopods. If you are still worried about sectopods, an acid grenade on you grenade grenadier shreds tons of armor.
Rangers should primarily be packing talons rounds and laser sights for absolutely nuclear damage when they crit+rapid fire.

It's just a 50/50 coin flip once the chase sequence starts.
>>166406996
Yeah i noticed the shotguns have stupid range and hit chance in this game. Weird, thought the specialist would be the strongest. I guess makes sense supports are strong since i was using grenades to break cover/armor. But thanks for the tip. It's just an unforgiving game going against new enemies.

Go GuerrillaTactics School->Advanced Warfare Center->Power Relay->Resistance Communications->whatever you want, basically. Base building in X2 is much lighter than X1, there's no adjacency bonuses or anything, so it's pretty easy to do. Labs in vanilla are pretty meh-tacular. Workshops should be in a middle square for best effect. Try to put your Psi Lab and Shadow Chamber on power coils. That's about it.

I don't know about them on legendary (haven't beaten it yet), but anything below I am very confident in them. They have lots of action economy which means picking off all your low health enemies consistently, and then later on they can nuke big targets with fanfire.

>>166407294
Shotguns are good. Lot of games reinforce a negative stereotype but at the ranges XCOM fights at, shotguns are great IRL. Untrained security foreigner can hit a runner more reliably with a shotgun than with "show" weapons like the uzi.

Not really. It shifts how I play the game to more explosives and other 100% abilities.
I play a lot of tabletop games. Most function on a To Hit, then either a damage OR saving roll. I think it's only 40k that still uses Hit, damage, save and its a mild pain in the ass to get damage to go through. That's how shooting feels now. I don't take shots cause they're good shots, its because I couldn't get a grenade or some ability off with that soldier so this is just yolo. Even at 90%+.
Adding grazing chances and dodge chances on to shooting attacks just makes an extra layer for shots to fuck up. Whereas grenades and a few other abilities don't have this problem. It's just the rng for the damage you inflict. Shooting isn't even that great. It's good, but I never felt like this shit needed additional layers to go through.
I'm curious why they thought it was good idea, I have my hunches, one of which was just to make it harder. However, I can't think that's the reason cause explosives still function almost the same.
