Is the game worth it? I keep hearing it's the sequel of an unlocalized game or something, but why would they do that?
>>166318812
These were too good not to use.
>>166318735
>Latest mystery is probably the best an Atelier has been as far as mechanics goes.
I think you are just wrong, the elimination of meaningful time management ruined the series.

It has the best combat and alchemy to date.
The time management for the first year is actually decent especially if you're looking to get a single playthrough plat without resorting to normal/easy mode.
Even without it, the game itself is just very good mechanically.
We really did a good job with that last mission Rin, maybe I'll play again later tonight.
>>166319504
Just like Vitagen.

I was extremely pleased to discover that the sisters got entirely new animations for VII, particularly Uni, Rom and Ram.
>>166319062
Time management has never been particularly meaningful, the only time I ever remember it being restrictive is in Totori when trying to get the true end. Every other instance you just get a retarded amount of free time no matter what you actually do. I'd rather there not be one so you don't have to slog through the entire game again if you missed some character event.
That said I don't like a lot of things Mystery had to offer, but removal of overall time management is not one of them. (even though there's still time-limited requests in Sophie, and a sort of timed first half of Firis)

I actually first heard of the game through its OST, but is MeiQ worth paying full price for? It recently shipped in physical in a retailer near me and I've been thinking about it. I could buy S;G or Trails of Cold Steel for thr same price though.
>>166319623
The Might+(Range) effect seems to be very subtle. The other NPCs I give the buff to only has a small red glowing lines as indicators. they are missing the red lightning effect.
But for some reason Leech+(Range) has absolutely no indicators at all, so I'm not even sure if that thing is working.
>>166320051
The sub weapon adding a wide variety of skills, the heavier emphasis in buffing/debuffing (which goes well with the wide variety of skills), the heavier emphasis in turn and gauge management, the actually useful super move instead of the usual flashy finisher. There's a lot of things better in Firis compared to previous games.

Just keep playing then until you get a hang of things. If by any chance it's too slow for you, a modifier can be unlocked that multiplies all damage by 500%.

Leech+ (Range) doesn't even work at all.
I tested in on an SPC npc who was injured, and he didn't recover any HP, even though my Leech spell is supposed to absorb HP as well.
I guess that's my buff build going down the drain.

1K is 4 years old now. She has scratches on her sides. Back protective film needs replacement. Battery is getting weak.
2K is a few months old, and in near pristine condition. I try not to use her too much and play on Vita TV whenever possible.
Vita TV's body is a bit dusty, a gentle wipe will take care of that. The DS3 controller that came with it has seen a lot of use though. It's going to need intense cleaning.

>>166329039
There's actually a Christian gaming forum (forgot the name) that rates a bunch of Japanese games.
They do two ratings:
>Rating it with bias for Christianity
>Rating it as unbiased as possible as an overall product
They gave DT2 a Christian rating of like, 3/10 but then followed up with "this is still a fantastic game" and linked to a secondary review based on the game itself, giving it a rating of 9/10.

Is Ayesha the strongest and most successful Titular Atelier Protagonist ever? (Barring literal deities like the Irises and Vayne from MK of course)
Keith acknowledges her as his intellectual equal. Which is saying a lot because people regard Keith as probably the greatest alchemic mind of their time and the one closest to the truth of the world. Plus, he even remarks that Ayesha has already inherited all his knowledge and techniques so she shouldn't really give fuck is he dies from smoking too much.
And when Ayesha casually mentions the stuff she has done in her travels, people are either in awe or shocked at how utterly batshit her exploits are. And while the canon endgame for most Atelier Protagonists seem to be just settling down and enjoying their earned renown or living in the country/village they saved, Ayesha resolves to leave behind everything in order to seek the truth and save the goddamn world.
Also, she seems to have hijacked the Yggdrasil system (the final boss from her titular game) and uses it as part of her skillset in Shallie Plus. And I dunno, making the Final Boss of your game a useable bitch you can summon at will is a pretty impressive feat for any game protagonist.
>>166334993
Duel blades right now but I want to go mace or lance with shield if it's viable for style.
Playing got me thinking about buying Hollow Realization, but people keep telling to skip it on the vita and get the ps4 version because it's beautiful. What do you think, don't bullshit me. Give me the hard truth, I really don't play on the go much.

>>166335570

>>166335570
Not sure how the ps4 looks, but I'm seriously not that picky about graphics. It's honestly a fun game and I saw no real issues with playing it on the vita.
Kat is actually a queen from 100 years ago from a city on top of the Pillar. She was a complete failure because she never got her "guardian" (dusty), everyone in the royal family gets them. She wanted to do something to protect the people below from the gravity storms but it was rejected. One of her people betrayed her and pushed her off the pillar, invoking both her to obtain Dusty and fall. Syd was one her followers who actually got stabbed in the back by the same guy who was going to push kat off the pillar, (also he's Alias), and has pretty much been looking after the Queen while she forgot who she was. In present time, Kat and Raven climb the pillar to the very top to see whats up there, discover the city, Kat is subject to mind fuckery and is made to forget everything in hecksville until she discovers Raven in the Castle Dungeon. In which she instantly snaps back to fight the current "King" of the City on top of The World, who just unleashed a Electrical Waifu onto Hecksville, you take control of Raven and eventually Kat to beat her ass. Raven falls here and Kat gets super pissed off. After that, the King gets pretty pissed and becomes a Giant Dragon Nevi. brushing off a full assault from the military, Cercie, and Kat. Hedrains Kats of all her powers, and she's left helpless. Kat eventually comes around when the crowds of hecksville start singing, She fuses with both Dusty and Raven's Crow to become a super Panther Crow thing and beats the shit out of the dragon. She talks to Syd, and decides to use both dusty and the Crow, to turn herself into a "singularity" to stop the gravity storm once and for all, she is assumed dead. Credits role while you take control of Raven yet again, to do a patrol of the city talking to all the NPCs and seeing how they're doing. Raven is very touchy about Kat's death, but at the very end of the patrol Raven hears Dusty meowing and tracks it down to a pier, where she turns around and sees Kat.

>>166336080

https://youtu.be/7RVry9unaAw?t=351
>>166336057
Frame rate will not drop off unless you do full raids since the patch, and even then it isn't even that bad.
Fighting might look a little clustered, because it is, but it really isn't that noticeable once you get accustomed to it.
>>166336198
Guess it's complete shit then since you saw a release day video of the JP version.
>>166334401
Are you fucking kidding me?
That "game" has the worst gameplay of every game ever to exist on the Vita (including all the indie ones) comboed with the worst localisation ever (seriously, half the NPC lines are Engrish, and they didn't even bother reversing the controls from the Jap version. It is hands down the worst buyer's remorse I ever felt, and I bought SW Battlefront on launch.
Unless you are actually talking about Hollow REALISATION, which is two games later and I guess might have actually been improved enough to be playable.
>>166336373
Did you even watch the video? He is talking about the 1.03 patch.
>>166336220
Anything sub 30 fps is unplayable for me as an action game, turn based is ok, but not arpg.
>>166335570
None of the weapons are bad, if you build around them you can use anything. Ideally you'll be capping the skill level on everything to unlock battle skills anyway, so it's mostly down to gearing up for whatever set of sword skills you want to use in the end.
Pretty sure all the spears are 2h, so you can't use a shield with them. Mace and shield works.
Waiting on HR until I clear out my backlog more, so can't really comment on that.
>>166336486
>He is talking about the 1.03 patch.
Regions outside of JP received differently named patches.
>>166336414
No, I'm talking about HF, it's pretty fun. It took me a while to get it, and I had to do the tutorial twice but now that I get it it's pretty fucking fun.

1.03 is the stability patch.

Yeah, still mad.
>>166336764

Why?
I mean, I'm never getting it either even if I do get a PS4 but that's mainly due to not really feeling strongly towards GR either way.
It felt like a tech demo.
>>166336414
>That "game" has the worst gameplay of every game ever to exist on the Vita
How far did you get? Be honest.
>>166335521
I would argue that Theofratus Aurelius (Vayne's father) was the master alchemist, however, he is not a main character.
I think Ayesha is indeed the most OP MC alchemist out there.
>>166335970
I don't know which is the worst, this or V3.
No wait, at least GR doesn't lie about it's protagonist I guess.

Astrid made the fountain of youth, people tend to SERIOUSLY overlook that.
Comparing alchemy is like comparing magic, some magic are just apples and oranges when trying to compare. Prafta/Sophie can transmute the soul and mind, Astrid can permanently extend life, how do you compare that?
When you look at Atelier some of the magic/alchemy is heresy as fuck.
>>166337227
I guess you can look at it that way, I look at it as a giant sandbox, with familiar character that I love, with a gear system with enchanting and randomization for tons of hours of storyless free play. I have not even done much of the story, I just run around with 4 npcs doing hollow areas looking for gear and gold.

You should really try it again, I didn't like it the first time around either, but then I realized how fun it was. Also don't just grind low level areas try to go into the challenging stuff, I fought a boss for 10 minutes pumping potions, dodging and buffing just to stay alive, shit was intense.
If all you experienced was the baby areas where any sword skill 1 shots the monsters you have not really played the game.
GO FIGHT!!!

I love Trails in the Sky, but the first game is as slow as it gets. Maybe you should play the first Cold Steel game and come back to TiTS after that, since you'll be more invested in the setting and eager to see what happens then.
Atelier games get released very frequently, but does that mean their quality suffers?
>>166338939
Of course it does. Why would you think otherwise especially when there's just one team working on the series? It's being churned out like CoD, except CoD has three studios working of it now that alternate.

>>166338925
I tried Sen no Kiseki, the story was better paced but the combat speed was abysmal. It's also a walking simulator, the game length is artificially bloated because of this and the load times.
I really did like the story but combat pacing is important to me, maybe I should have played on easy instead of hard just for the story, but at that point I might as well just read a book or visual novel to be fair.
>>166338939
You gonna get the new atelier 2017, sis?
>>166339247
I'm not quite sure what you mean about combat speed - it seems about the same as any other turn based RPG to me. Barring DRPGs where you can skip all combat animations. Not to mention the environments really aren't even that big compared to some other games. Combat vs mooks usually ends pretty quickly too, compare to shit like Tales of Hearts R.
But Kiseki's really for that kind of player that loves walking around, talking to every NPC and learning little details about the world and characters. I personally love it, but if you're looking for a fast paced game it really won't deliver that. Might just not be for you.

Down arrow is me giving up on the series because sophie was a drag.

>>166339735
>where you can skip all combat animations.
Well pretty much this, even when you skip animations there is a small load time, I mean even neptunia got animation skip right, I don't need to see Rean swing his sword for the 1000th time. Ruined the pace for me, I only have 1-2 hours of gaming per day max, I just can't spend the majority of that looking at the same animations over and over. DRPGS get it right.
>>166339875
But how many plats?
>>166339875
Are you implying that 7/10 is a bad score
>>166340190
Not a plat fag, I get the true end, the bad ends and the 1-2 character ends I want. Then I'm done, I also don't do that rush the game for ng+ shit.
>>166340305
7/10 is ok for neptunia, it's not ok for atelier, I expect great games and great stories from Atelier.
>>166339247
I played on normal without really thinking about it until I was pretty far in. It was mostly too easy, yeah, but I still found it pretty fun.
Battles end quick, and the challenge becomes less about "can I survive?" and more about "can I keep them from getting a turn in?"
But still might be too slow for your tastes that way, dunno. Seemed about right to me, with lots of use of animation skip.
>>166340667
>, with lots of use of animation skip.
what ruins the pace for me is half second loading when you skip animations, neptunia ad drpg makes it instant, why not kiseki?
>>166340087
>Ruined the pace for me, I only have 1-2 hours of gaming per day max
Fair enough. It does sound like you'd be turned off by the majority of RPGs that don't have a D or maybe an A infront of them, but if you got that little time I'd probably play things other than 80 hour JRPGs anyway.
Also I kind of wonder why you're here on vitagen if you have that little spare time.
So I went to akihabara and I saw some people with surgeon mask, what is that supposed to mean? At first I thought it was coz they were sick, but there we a lot
>>166340087
The series might not be for you then. At 1-2 hours a day beating just one of the games would take you somewhere around 1-2 months depending on your reading speed and if you play just it every day until it's done.

>Battles end quick, and the challenge becomes less about "can I survive?" and more about "can I keep them from getting a turn in?"
That's why I played on hard and really wanted to do Nightmare. I don't like the "can I keep them from getting a turn in?" gameplay, but it comes at the expense of everything taking a lot longer in a game that is already long.
Loved the gameplay, it was fine from a mechanics point of view, I just don't have the time to enjoy it, and if I was going to play easy for the story or to make it faster, I'd rather just play something else.
I want to make it clear I DID enjoy what I played, the problem was pace and the time I have available. Think about if you could only play the game in 1 hour butts per day, this was also when the vita's software launch schedule was going insane as well, I just floated to other games, I never even made the decision to stop playing, I just kind of did as I slowly forgot all the shit that had happened.

The guy said Titular Alchemist. And I'd argue that Ayesha is the greatest among all of them too. Both in achievements and personal growth. Though in the Dusk series, I'd argue that Flameu was probably the best Alchemist as even Keith/Ayesha couldn't quite fully analyze the geosis seed, something that Flameu created.
But given her track record thus far (remember, Keith, the guy whose standards aren't exactly low, already acknowledged her as his equal and she's like half the guy's age. Not to mention she didn't know jack shit about alchemy a decade ago), I'd say that Ayesha is on her way to even greater things. If the Dusk world is revisited (Not that out of the question, as the world of Salburg was revisited in the Gramnad series and some other spinoffs), we might see the end of the almost Messianic path GUST charted out for Ayesha.
That said, while all the series' alchemy boiled down to literally summoning shit out of a pot, the Dusk series is the one treated Alchemy in the most grounded fashion. In that world, Alchemy is treated like a science with clear limitations and actual repercussions. Hell, it's actually the reason why their world is so fucked up. In all other Ateliers, Alchemy is treated like a miracle art and the greatest fucking thing ever. The bad stuff with alchemy is just typically skimmed over or used as a justification for the final boss. Whilst the Dusk series had a slightly more cynical take on it and the shitty side of alchemy being part of the fundamental backbone of the series' setting. And that's something I can appreciate.

>>166341642
>I just floated to other games, I never even made the decision to stop playing
Fair enough, I tend to do that with a lot of games even when my time isn't too heavily limited.
Honestly, the size of the series is probably the main thing that keeps me from doing it for Kiseki. If I drop a standalone game, I'm just missing out on the rest of that game; if I do it for a Kiseki then I'm missing out on something that will be important for another game later.

>>166342647
Read a guide to get you started, it can be overwhelming then you will quit 2 hours later claiming the game is shit.
Use a guide to understand the mechanics but DO NOT use a walk-though. Do the Hollow Area first if you don't want to miss a few story scenes.
The game is pretty much two separate stories in separate areas, in one game that are loosely connected, which is why people like to say it's two games in one.

Watching 3 tends to give you a good feel for the game, and it tends to be more honest than a game review as well. It's basically how I decide whether to buy a game or not.

Poor, but not understandable.
I don't think this one will take long to receive though -- when the KS started up initially (the failed one) they already had most of the process done. They just needed bug-checking and stuff.
For the Vita, porting is relatively painless (moreso tedious than actual work) so it should be done soon. Unlike the other kickstarters, they don't need to translate anything, but instead just bring it over.
Dies Irae will be similar.

>>166348668
Depends on the game. Most genres I go in with vague recommendations or a non spoiler review or two, but I might open a guide while playing if I'm playing a game with a lot of easily missable stuff. (Which tends to be most JRPG's nowadays).
Seriously devs, I'm not going to replay your forty hours of utterly linear storyline just to see what quests I've missed unless there's a major route change or something, so making new game+ only content is a waste of your time and an insult of mine.

Nope, I've been playing Kiwami. But from the start though since I never played the Vanilla.
>>166364149
Oh. It's based off your relationship level with each character. So you have him high enough but not other male characters. I think it's based off side quests? Or taking them out as NPCs if they're slayers?
>>166364273
Weird. In my Kiwami game I have full freedom to bathe with anyone.
>>166364279
Well that makes sense. Since I never take males to the hunts. That's been my tradition with these hunting games. Oh well, it's not like his bonus isn't that bad anyway.
>>166364354
Well if you care about trophies there is one for getting everyone to max affinity
All the village slayers have boosts that match their weapon so if you use the same one as a male character it might be worth it
Then the non-slayers have more generally useful boosts like sometimes not using a stock when activating a skill, double gold, etc.
>>166364432
I'm not going to plat this since it seems super, super grindy and even when I like to play the game I'm not going to dedicate that much time to it. But I guess I should invite Fugaku more often to have those boosts for Gauntlets.
>>166364508
NPC relationship doesn't depend on missions. It's just how much you talk to them.
You can actually just spam the talk button if you want to max them up.
But then you miss out on message variations in the baths.
Well /vitagen/, I have transferred my memory card back into the old slim from my new original. Did I fall for a meme? Either way it was nice to try it out and guess I have a back up console now.

Just a tip if you want yuor in-game library of skill descriptions filled up properly instead of having a ton of ??? marks.
When you binge level up your Mitama from 1 to 12:
Always equip the Mitama you are about to level up.
Always replace one of the 3 old skill slots and accept the new skill no matter how shitty it is. This lets your new skill register, even though you only have it equipped on you for 1 second.
By doing this you avoid all these empty spaces. And it's a real hell to activate them all manually afterwards since there are 531 different skills.

I'm working on some feedback to Koei Tecmo using their Kiwami submitting form.
So far I have:
- Allow Dagger and Sickle users to execute spells while in midair, without interrupting their air-combo.
- Allow some new skills that increase the length of the chain in the Sickle&Chain weapon.
- Change the library of Boost lists so the entry is filled as soon as the skill is acquired, instead of as soon as a skill is equipped.

Genno is correctly listed as Honour, EX, Snowflame.

It's a weird bug. It doesn't appear in many games. For example Valkyrie Drive never did that and that's demanding game for Vita. What exactlu causes it?

She's no longer good for breeding. Logy should just hook up with Shallotte.
>>166382078
Shame Ateliers never actually have children, families, or really get into relationships ever thanks to the fanbase.
>>166381943
It has to do with a certain timer that detects percentage. Its a combination of a software and hardware malfunction where both do not communicate adequately. Unplugging the battery resets that function. I forgot to mention that you should 100% charge the battery even if it says it is done before unplugging it.
>>166382272
Shallot's mom gave birth to her when she was 18 apparently, which is Shallotte's age in-game.
It's so stupid that you can't have her knocked up at the same timing as her mom.

I'm just tired of 'romance' only being in dating sims anymore. For every game that features that as a main bit to the plot and that's not a dating sim, there's at least 50+ that will not even come close to featuring that stuff at all.
So fucking tired of how afraid they are of having romance in anything, and the only ones that do is Western shit that just tacks it on to call it a major point of the game.

Logy and Escha weren't exactly subtle either, especially in the plus versions of Eschatology and Shallie. And there's the matter of spinoffs with Annie as well.
Are your experiences with Atelier just limited to the Arland series?
>>166382857
Explain Escha and Logy then.
Because from the extra events in Shallie Plus alone, it's pretty clear that Escha has no plans of lending Logy's dick to anybody.
>>166383000
That gets a pass because Logy is best girl.
And girl on girl relationships are always okay.
>>166383000
>Explain Escha and Logy then.
Did they every get into a relationship? Did they ever admit they loved each other? No? Okay then. Dancing around the issue is the same as not including it. Didn't you see how careful the game was with addressing those two and made sure to never actual make it anything proper other than getting a jab from a character from time to time about it? "They were basically in a relationship! Come on, everyone in the game knew it!" Except they weren't, and weren't even together in the subsequent games.

>>166383345
No, I'm arguing that it's fucking stupid they can't even admit that Logy and Escha are in a relationship. Yes, all the signs are there, but never do we ever get a confirmation that they are dating/married/etc. I'm not speaking against relationships in the games, I actually want them to happen since it does add a nice layer to them in general. The problem we're hitting is that the creators don't seem to ever want to make proper pairings ever. E&L are a pair, but they never become anything more due to the limitations in place due to certain factors.
Until one of those games can outright admit two characters love each other and date/etc, then it's nothing. A nice coupling can be teased and shown throughout, but it means nothing if they cannot actually even have the two mature into a couple.
>>166383285

>>166385801
Actually, the worst is Wilbell. Magicians are a dying breed in Dusk. And even if she had a kid, it's not 100% sure that her offspring will be able to do magic. So if they want to keep magic alive she has to do many children to make sure that magic users don't go extinct. And in Shallie she's already 24 with no kids. And from the looks of it she's actually a lesbian anyway, she's way more into girls.
Oh well, I'm not sure how Magicians actually get old, maybe they don't get as old as fast as normal peopöe.That one other magician does point to that way I guess.

The way you speak, you act like all games never show people getting hitched anymore. That's hardly the truth. And besides, romance was never the main point in Atelier games. Well, most of them anyway.
In the one's where these kind of stuff are more explicit (The Iris and MK games for example), the characters are put in crossroads or critical situations where they seriously have to reevaluate how they really feel towards the other characters. Those are integrated to the story and are actually important elements of it.
For other games, those stuff fall to the backseat. For example, it's no secret that Escha is extremely fond of Logy. But the exact nature of fondness is never really tackled explicitly. For all we know, it's more of a familial affection. Escha is an only child who lost both her parents at a young age after all. She might've been projecting Logy as an older brother figure. Or I guess she really just wanted his dick. We don't really know. But the exact nature of their relationship is inconsequential to the plot of the game. They share a close bond. That's all that the game really needed you to know. Any more is left to your imagination.
Maybe in another world, you'd probably be sperging out about how romance is hamfisted in a game or movie just to fulfill a romance quota instead.
>>166386063
Lots.
Escha actually gets jealous at Miruca because Logy ends up hanging alot with her. Partly because she's another Central Alchemist who is practicing the same type of Alchemy as him. Logy works a bit of Harem Protagonist Magic in Shallie Plus.
He gets on Miruca's good side by agreeing with her that Central is filled with Alchemists that are a bunch of stuckup bag of dicks. But tries to mitigate her hatred of Central by saying that there are good people there too. Plus, he trades Alchemy notes with her and tries to clean up her messy workshop much to her dismay.
He then scores a lot of points with Green Shallie by helping her build and tune her Flying Scooter. Since after all, Flying Vehicles are his specialty in Alchemy.
Best of all, like in Harem Protagonist tradition, he acts clueless to all this shit with scoring points with the chicks and just remarks that he's just your average joe trying to help people out with no ulterior motives whatsoever.
No wonder that Escha got a bit jealous at all the other girls hanging out with Logy.

You consider something that is like at most 200 words or so an autistic essay already?
I fear for the attention span of people nowadays.
If you consider that bad already then good god, you have not seen true autistic hell.
>>166388879
What would you expect? Logy being Logy he doesn't want to disappoint anyone so I think he didn't say anything one way or another.
>>166388912
No I was exaggerating, thanks for proving my point you autist.

Threia is so, so fucking hot. But goddammit her personality is hot garbage.

Yeah, and I think she knows it. Oh well, she can easily get a man if she ever wanted to, she knows what to do to get one. Marion on the other hand...

I don't think he's that special, but I don't usually give many thoughts for male characters anyway.
>>166389664
escha is cute
>>166389328
That's an insult to Keith. At least Keith has that Tsundere old man shtick. Threia has nothing.
He's even made twice as cute with his interactions with Ayesha in Shallie Plus. You can really see him trying to act tough and mean as usual to Ayesha, but Ayesha just sees through that shit and hit him in all his weak spots.
He's secretly really proud and very fond of his Apprentice Alchemist Daughteru. When Ayesha told him that he shouldn't smoke his herbal pipe too much (a personal gift from her mind you), he remarked that Ayesha shouldn't worry about him too much since he's already old and that Ayesha already inherited all his knowledge and techniques.
>>166389503

Yes, very much so.

Remove ateliers
Install Neps
Now that people bother bringing it up, the Iris series of Ateliers actually stand out. To this date, it's the only Atelier Series that hasn't gotten some form of rerelease.
And by far they are the only Atelier that covers an "epic" plot that encompasses the fate of the world and stuff. Pretty much all other Ateliers are largely self-contained in their respective regions or setting. None half tried trying their hand at something to the scale of the Iris serie's stakes again.

We ll fuck me
I think I missed some scenes in Refrain.
Wasn't there someone else that played it in here?
Like, the spider? He just got added to the cast, no introduction, as if I was expected to already know him. Even though I saw him the first time when he got introduced to Luca.
Or, Luca suddenly called the blue thingies(pic related) a name that I haven't heard before.
And the most problematic thing: There's this area in the dungeon I'm (the 4th one, where you get shrunk in the field) that is grey and when I go in there my troops get damaged.
Haven't found anything that'd work against that.

Maybe
>>166381782
Okay, did that and everything still works which is great. Now to play more toukiden to see how things work out. Thanks Anon.
>>166393361
You're can guess the backstory of the spider as the story progresses. At the start he's just there.
As for the dungeon, check the wiki. You can nullify it via witch's request I think.
>>166396087
Okay, good to know I didn't somehow skip over one of the story parts. Thanks anon.
Got really worried because I always try to clear as much of a dungeon as I can without turning back.
If she's old enough to bleed, she's old enough to breed.
>>166396247
Also, Refrain's story is occasionally not told in a direct manner. Some parts may require you to make inferences, which may only be possible at a later stage, while some may only be revealed or make sense later.
I don't think there are missable scenes, it's pretty much linear.
>>166396247
I made a mistake. The nullification thing is for something else.
The grey tiles are special, they only deal damage when you satisfy a certain condition:
Karma points.
>>166396769kami-sama
>>166397137
Fucking karma, I still don't get how it works.
Guess I'll actually read it up in the wiki.
>>166389213
Do you ever see his scar in game?
Playing Shallie after not finishing it on PS3, planning to get through both routes. I forgot how much I absolutely adore a fresh Atelier experience.
For some reason, I have pretty much no desire to pick up Sophie though. Probably going to wait for a sale.
>>166397354
It's just points you accumulate when you kill selected enemies or make certain choices. Not very obvious.
They trigger the special tile and affect some of the skills (passive and active).

>Replace all standard guards with earnest runner gurus
>Have it so instead of them pacing everywhere, they're sprinting
>Make it so the clinking noise of armor attracts guards, but if you're wearing their armor they won't be suspicious
>Make it if you're within enemy sight while disguised, you will have to sprint with them or rouse suspicion the longer you take
>Have guards mock you for your slow running speed, with one incredibly loyal guard supportive instead
>Make it so the clinking of armor from running guards attracts more guards, so guards are constantly running everywhere trying to find the noise
>Make it so you can poison the guards and cause them to become disoriented, arousing suspicion that he may be a spy, thus being executed by trampling
>Make it so you can place caltrops and other traps to slow guards down, or even cause them to attack one another because they're walking
>Have various types of guards: The 100 yard sprinter -- a Guard in light armor which moves in short, incredibly fast bursts
>The Cross-Countryman -- a Guard that will never stop jogging and will be capable of outlasting / catching up to you if caught
>The Olympian -- A barbarian Guard trained from birth to become the mighty bulwark he is today -- The champion who will tail you mercilessly (only one or two in the game)
>The Cramp -- A slow guard that constantly disables himself but is also completely silent except for minor groaning every now and then
>The Flak -- A guard that kicks stones and dirt as he patrols, causing noises to become difficult to decipher and guards to regularly trample through in search of the disturbance
>The Ninja -- A rare Guard spawn on-level with the Olympian that keeps his arms placed behind him to obtain perfect balance and immeasurable speed. While strong, they will strike first before asking questions, allowing thieves to easily trick Ninjas into attacking their fellow guards
