Xander's one of the best units in Fates as a whole so it's hard to go wrong with him, especially if you make Corn into a Swordmaster to both pass those skills to Xander and give him a huge Speed boost.

Preferably though you want to marry either Jakob or Gunter since Corrin wants to be on the frontline, Gunter's pairup boosts are the best in the game offensively and Jakob's are the best defensively (he gives a little more Spd than Gunter tooo).

Should I even be excited for FE Mobile? I'm usually pretty optimistic about games but this one has me worried, I usually play KHUX daily and I think it's a good representation of a mobile game at times and I hope FEM is the same way.

I just hope they incorporate a kind of pool system where they throw in a bunch of characters and you draw for them, that way I can try to get all the characters I like in the series.

Fates has some characters in awakening as well, so even if it's not a sequel it's still better to know something's and complain later. Every FE game is easy for starters if you're playing on normal, and Fates is just as easy as Awakening. You don't have to buy all three routes and each one is about as long as a full FE game so that's a totally moot point, if anything it's in favor of Fates for being more cost effective. Fates is designed to be just as much of an entry point for new players as Awakening is and it has better gameplay, better maps, and better characters.
