I have nothing against discord but it won't be of much use in game without multiplayer. Then there are some 4chan purists who are against using anything but 4chan and don't want to split the community which is understandable. Timing is also super bad considering redshit drama.

Rimsenal mod page 55. Modder throws snipets of stuff he works on.

Rule of a thumb in graphics is work on big resolution and then resize them down to desired size because you can't do the same in the opposite direction without losing quality... also it's easier to work on big canvases.

Yes, sadly. It may sound retarded, but if you can't rebuild your defenses fast enough it might be wise to burn your valuables or send them out in a caravan.

I'm crossing my fingers for a future update that introduces raiders stealing things (they already do, but they infrequently do it) as opposed to breaking your shit. Why would they always slaughter your colonists? I imagine a "surrender" button would work where the raiders take everything that's not nailed down and they can carry away from your base (sculptures, silver, gold, anything valuable, etc.).

But I'll fight to the death to protect my waifus

You can circumvent raids if you don't have good defenses by leaving a small stockpile outside your base of valuables like gold, jade, or silver. The raiders will steal it and leave, and it will lower the wealth of your colony and make the next raid slightly smaller. Don't leave too much out or else you won't be able to prevent the next raid. A single bit of gold or silver will do, despite being raiders they're quite cheap.

Spacing your buildings is always better, but I was going for an interconnected facility look.

Though I don't imagine a fire ever being an issue in my base unless it starts in the soon to be hospital in those caves. All my walls are made from stone so all fires are quarantined in their respective rooms and my firefighters can just bust a wall open to let the hot air out.

All my medicine was in the wall-less warehouse in the middle of the camp, so my pacifist wouldn't be able to get meds without getting killed. He hid in the room with dying colonist and waited until pirates leave. Lonely pacifist gathered some food and valuables and rushed away from the colony to the west until A FUCKING RANDOM ENCOUNTER with one melee raider happened. Pacifist was slain.

Another one: three nice survivors grown and hunted some food and almost instantly rushed for the rescue ship when it appeared. One grand mistake was made when the band stopped near some ancient ruins and tried to use them as a home. Three scythers were already inside. The band managed to lure one of them out and incapacitate him, but one of colonists got seriously wounded, treatment was a must. The band retreated not too far from ruins to heal their wounds but after some time scythers went for an attack, severely wounding two of them (one got her arm shot off). Both of them were carried back to improvised shelter but medicine was stored outside, where scythers could see them and go for the kill. They waited until scythers went back to their ruins, the armless girl died of blood loss, second one was treated but still couldn't move effectively due to leg trauma. Third one made a tough decision, grabbed a survival rifle, some rations and abandoned the shelter, going for the rescue ship.
After some time a raid message popped, slightly healed second one tried to gather her belongings and run away from the pirates but was slain by wandering scyther in the process. F.
Third one ran through forests, shrublands, deserts and mountains with intermediate stops for 3-4 days to gather some food from hunting and foraging and continue on her way.
First random encounter was a maddened elephant. She tried to use nearby boomalopes to bomb the elephant, unsuccessfully, but managed to kill him without getting wounded.
Second random encounter was much less lucky for her. Short firefight with lone SMG-wielding pirate left my survivor with a dozen or so bullet wounds, but she won the fight.
Wounds were too severe, the death from blood loss was unavoidable, so the Third one went in the nearby ruins to lie down and get her final sleep.
She was only 20-22 days away from the extraction point. F.

Go, my son, you know what must be done. I made the same mistake as a first timer thinking that the heat from 3 units running at once with only a 1x3 opening behind them created a temperature of over 240 degrees F. It was so fucking hot that the heat trapped in that small area actually made the surrounding "freezer" room into a tropical resort. Coming from Gnomoria, I had no idea that the game was that technical, so I can only imagine what Dwarf Fortress is like.

Basically there's a C# plugin that replaces the human graphics with ayylien graphics, and that's how they look different, and there's the .xml that actually defines their bodyparts and traits and so on that actually makes them different.

Looks like the caravan functionality broke the C# functionality of the mod, which again, I didn't write. Its a framework that another modder made.

I'm probably going to give the dickwolves another pass now that I've taken a break and fix any lingering issues and localisation and make a patch to get them to work with EPOE, and appear more frequently. I might create a dickwolf faction and race-specific apparel too, and ban them from using hats because hats don't look right on their head.

Your colonists would not get there in time for most cases, though when handling crashed ships and sieges it might be good to have "forward" bunkers to guard an area.

In most cases I would suggest using walls and walling off your base. The advantage to this is that it 1.) protects your base from all angles, 2.) gives your militia time to prepare for an attack, and 3.) lets you build an "entrance" to funnel in raiders. You can work without walls, but your bases can't get too large since it takes time to send your militia to the sandbags and the raiders might make it there before yours get ready.


Watching Zulu has given much inspiration in base building here. Especially in strategies against tribals.

When fighting a siege you should try bombarding them out with your own mortars or waiting for them to go asleep and setting your colonists to surround them before firing on them.

Depends on how cold it gets. If jackets get you to the minimum requirement (check the colonist's gear menu), then use jackets. If not, consider making parkas for colonists that spend a lot of time outside. Don't forget to build heaters for indoors, or your colonists will complain about sleeping in the cold.

More shade detail I add to the face the heavier I'd need to go with the rest of the body and there's just nothing in there to detail so it ends up getting dirty rather than busy and sharp.

Since we're going for comfy, maybe something like chamomile or camellia tea, though I find chai more relaxing. Some of those names won't work since they don't fit the 'Firefly' theme. Calm Clover and Clover Cuddles sound like OCs from /mlp/. Which is a mod for another thread at another time The theme means make it sound like a wild western and/or Chinese name. ie Cammy Siye (four leaf) using the earlier chamomile as an example. Hell, make it Si Tongdao if we want obviousness that most people will overlook without at translator.
