He's one of the harder ops to use correctly, but when used well is an incredible asset. Landing a hit with your drone will incapacitate someone longer than any other gadget in the game.

Fortify objective, deploy your shield, toss your drone, crouch behind it. Listen to gunshots and try to deploy Yokai in a spot the enemy are likely to attempt to breach; that's when you sonic blast as many as possible and ideally sprint out to blast their faces off with the Supernova. I'd the mp5sd with the acog an p229 are a great combination. You can easily get headshots with the mp5 and use the high damage of the p229 up close and use the super nova+bearing on smaller maps like hereford but thats just my setup.

Depends on the objective. If there's cover in the objective that you'll be safe behind until someone is physically in the objective room, then sitting in the objective is optimal. If there's not enough cover, or too many potential sightlines Attackers can create, it's better to sit somewhere near the objective, but hidden, Your slow speed will hurt you if you're too far and you need to contest the objective, so sit close enough to react if you're the last alive suddenly, but not close enough to die early on.

Also, note: if you're playing bomb, Yokai can deny a plant with its Sonic burst. Keep that in mind. Staying alive is really important as Echo, but especially in Bomb.

Why would Echo need a buff? Aside from his MP5 shooting rice instead of bullets he's already good if he can manage to stay alive with Yokai up towards the end of the round.
Giving him two drones would let him fuck with the attackers at the start of the round with no consequences into his late game strength if he loses the drone.

Defenders have shit intel compared to attackers already. They have mute to prevent that intel to a degree, but Thatcher fucks over that dream real quick with a simple toss of a 'solve-my-problems' ball.
The majority of the intel defenders have available comes from static cameras that have no defense once people know where they are. Valk, Pulse and Echo offset that lack of info, but there's a dedicated Operator for sniffing out gadgets (IQ), that would honestly only benefit from more things to scan for.

Yeah, you're right, but his late game denial is weaker than Smoke, and his intel power is weaker than either Valk or Pulse in most ways. The biggest upside he has over Valk is that his one camera is invisible most of the time, but as a downside it can only ever hover on ceilings, giving it low positional flexibility.
He's really niche right now, and he could be a bit better.

It was easy to begin with, because no one was ranked and there were a lot of new players in the game at the start of this season. It's about where it was in past seasons now though, except going up and down in ranks is a lot faster. If you win consistently, you'll get to plat or diamond fairly quickly, but if you win and lose on and off, it might be a slow journey for you.

Alright, I'll stop baiting for a bit. Normally I check my team mates level before the match starts. If they are low I give them all the tips I can think of.
