What do you expect from one of the dullest franchises in the history of video game franchises. Each episode following the witcher Geralt and his pals from Temeria as they fight assorted villains has been indistinguishable from the others. Aside from the gloomy imagery, the series’ only consistency has been its lack of excitement and ineffective use of special effects, all to make magic unmagical, to make action seem inert.

Perhaps the die was cast when Marcin vetoed the idea of Sapkowski writing the series; he made sure the series would never be mistaken for a work of art that meant anything to anybody. Just ridiculously profitable cross-promotion for his books. The Witcher series might be anti-Communist (or not), but it’s certainly the anti-James Bond series in its refusal of wonder, beauty and excitement. No one wants to face that fact. Now, thankfully, they no longer have to.

The writing is dreadful; the game was terrible. As I played, I noticed that every time a character was to express anger, the devs wrote instead that the character said "O Kurwa"

I began marking on the back of an envelope every time that phrase was repeated. I stopped only after I had marked the envelope several dozen times. I was incredulous. Marcin's mind is so governed by cliches and dead metaphors that he has no other style of writing. Later I read a lavish, loving review of Wild Hunt by the same Todd Howard. He wrote something to the effect of, "If these kids are playing The Witcher at 11 or 12, then when they get older they will go on to play Skyrim" And he was quite right. He was not being ironic. When you play "The Witcher 3" you are, in fact, trained to play Skyrim.

I really liked that quest. I liked how there were subtle hints that the detetive is not who he seems. For example how there's a box of fisstech on his table and carpets on the second floor that appear after the real raymond is murdered, and how your medallion starts to vibrate. While at the same time some of the exonerated suspects also tell you that azar is a junkie and has a thing for luxury.
Same thing happened in chapter one with Odo. He has two echynops growing in his garden, and if you talk to a random woman in the village she tells you how echinops only grows in places where an innocent person was murdered and buried. Triss and Geralt have a wonderful romance in all 3 games, it's the longest lasting in game romance and needless to say, it's absolutely beautiful. We got to see ups and downs and the beautiful culmination with two of them ending up in Kovir living happily ever after.

Romancing Triss in all three games was an amazing experience and one that I will cherish as long as I live. Seeing Triss getting all her dreams come true is one of my favorite things about the whole trilogy.

Not even close, my Geralt is always honest with Triss and she truly makes him happy. Their romance is just so warm and understanding. To me they feel like true partners and I'm glad they got their ending together and it's a very cool ending imo.

I appreciate Triss' flaws. Her insecurity, misplaced idealism and unfortunate obsession with Geralt make her a believable character and make me feel sympathetic for her. I felt sorry for her after reading the books, seeing how desperate she was for Geralt. Her internal monologues at KM, desperate attempts to kiss him while he helps her recover, the way Yen scolds her at Thanedd, her jealousy while Fringilla tells the Lodge about her relationship with Geralt all made me feel bad for her. I like finally giving her a chance in the games.

And it's not like she didn't do some good for Geralt in the books, she tried her best to help Ciri in BoE (and in some ways she did) and even proposed him to seek Yen's help when she realized a more powerful sorceress is needed. Without her dragging Geralt half dead and begging Tissaia to teleport him, he would have died on Thanedd. She grows as a person and in the end overcomes her fears and helps Yen in Rivia. Condwiramurs even refers to her as venerable Triss and praises her courage, showing she has changed from that moment on, imo it was defining for her character.

I do think she genuinely cares for Geralt and that she is a good, although flawed person regardless of the morally questionable things she did, in both the books and games. Her actions are often wrong, but I never found her motivations to be malicious or evil, she is just misguided by her ideals or selfish desire for Geralt’s love in the case of his amnesia abuse.
I like her character arc in the games, where she slowly abandons the Lodge, takes Geralt’s side and tries to find her place in the world, guided by her own ideals rather than blindly following others. I see it as a continued character growth.

I quite enjoy the way Geralt interacts with her in TW2 and TW3, the dynamic of their relationship and how they treat each other. I also like her cheerful personality and sense of humor.

It's well shot designed and acted without being overwrought. It's thematic and emotional and in-character (except for the earlier decisions in places). In grand balance of making sense, fitting the characters and theme, raw emotion, and quality f content, I think it ends up being the best of the three.
