they are fucking excellent for a sweep into andromeda, you have shocktroops at the beginning of the colonization efforts to see what's what and hold back possible counter attacks or, I don't know, some enemy empire (which is what you'd usually have to expect) and you don't have to worry about them outbreeding you, they'll naturally die out sooner or later.
I just don't believe bioware was thinking of that when they put the krogan into the mix.

Watching the trailer again, I'm not really that into the sound of the AI in your here. It's like there's too much of a filter, too robotic in a way. I think they should've gone with a cleaner sound like EDI or Avina and the rest of the VIs, or even Cortana. BT in Titanfall 2 had a great robotic voice, but he also spoke somewhat robotically in addition the voice filter. An AI like that in Mass Effect would've been really nice.

Though, now that I think about, he might be using a radio. The radio filter always did sound strange in Mass Effect, I think.

I always thought, that the little that Shep did see of Vigil was the VI on its last legs. And that what remaining power there was left was all used up when activating the Relay to go back to the Citadel.

Honestly, it makes no sense why the Council didn't believe Shepard in ME2. That was one of the weakest parts for me, at least give the benefit of the doubt. I mean especially after the events of ME1.

I think that if you save the Council in ME1 they believe Shepard about the Reapers, they just can't admit it to him/her because he's gone semi-rogue and is actively working for a shady organization.

Plus, even if the Council is pretty powerful in terms of political influence, they are not omnipotent. They could face opposition from their own respective government about mounting an army against a potential menace. Just look how much of a shit is Linron about sending Salarian to the war.

If Shepard saves the council, they probably worked in secret to prepare for the invasion, but could not admit it to Shepard himself because of his ties with Cerberus and the fact that he was declared dead and gone.

I dunno, I think that the Council apparent hostility should not be taken as face value.

True, Council is not innocent and could have been more cooperative with Shepard. If I remember right, in the Citadel DLC when you're exploring the archives you can find a video of Sovereign's attack on the Citadel : when you are recognized as a Spectre it shows that the true nature of Sovereign was Reaper origin, not Geth. Council probably thought that they were safe now that the only known Reaper was destroyed and that no other "reaper / geth activity" was seen in two years.

Then there's also the Salarian spectre in ME3 that says that Shepard's words did not fell in deaf ears among the Spectre themselves, and that they would join the war effort.

I think that Shepard, if you looked at him/her from the perspective of a normal Citadel citizen, would be seen as a hot-headed "Saren-lookalike" that talks about dreams and visions of apocalypse all the time and being a very public figure for someone that is supposed to be a secret agent.

The Carnifex seems like a weird weapon. It being powerful enough to penetrate modern body armor and shielding with ease makes some sense, since these are coilguns and barrel length would cease to be very relevant for velocity, so you COULD make coilguns the size of pistols with similar power to rifles (would probably be more expensive and require more maintenance due to strain though). Something like the Predator, which is basically a fun-sized Avenger with higher recoil and a lower ROF, would be fine.

But the Carnifex has got the recoil of a Desert Eagle and is even more enormous than one (60% the weight of an assault rifle ~ 2.4 kg if me3's weight system is any indication). I realize that it has to be heavy to handle the recoil of its powerful shots, but why wouldn't you just turn it into a carbine-shaped gun of the same weight? Unlike the Predator it's apparently not even intended as a sidearm, most enemies who use it use it as a primary (and you could just make a fold-up carbine anyway). Making it a pistol without a front grip is just making it pointlessly awkward to wield for the user especially given how heavy it is.

I've actually done the math on its muzzle energy and recoil before and I can never find a way to justify its design. I guess you can just dismiss the whole thing as "alien design philosophy".

They do have some kind of DRM that needs to be cracked. Not sure how that would work out with a retail version, Origin probably won't play nice with that.
