We need to seriously consider changing a few things back to the way they used to be (2013, 2014, 2015). It's increasingly becoming HugBox station.

Come on codester. We were both new and the game was filled with limitless possibilities and was nothing but sunshine to us. Now we're old. Old as dirt except to the oldest of oldfags (to whom we'll forever be new). We see where the game doesn't shine as bright as we originally thought.

But you've lost the view of what makes the game great while focusing on the negatives and think a lot of impossible can happen or detrimental ones that drive us down to dorf stations level of dead will help anything or anyone.

From Pomf to me to half the players, we're all in discord now. It was impossible to enforce a prohibition against it. I said no to discord and in time I saw that it was a disastrous idea. People will use discord and if we make it bannable they'll use it without telling us. It's demonstrably improved our coder-player communication and made it easier for players to become coders and spriters. Our admins are all in discord and can be contacted which is an improvement over sending a byond message and hoping they check it.

Removing all admins is just silly power play. Who would apply? The former admins. Who would be accepted? The former admins. If one is bad then report them and we'll straighten them out or cut them loose.

The codebase can't actually operate in a fevered dream of total democracy. Players just don't give a shit and I'm not waiting to merge every minor PR till I get the consent of people that don't care. If it's controversial then I painfully make sure everyone is aware of it and start a discussion.

This mentality that more players is inherently good is shit, and it is filled with shit. 35 players is more than enough, and when I get to enjoy a round with my spare time, id rather not have it be filled with tiders, a completely full sec team of incompetent morons and I enjoyed comfy 30 pop. It isn't too much, it isn't too little, just right enough for fun gimmicks and populated enough for traitors to not just murderbone, yet sparse enough that the crew usually isn't worse than the actual round antags. Even if nukeops or blob pop isn't in every single match, it doesn't mean its bad, it means we have a good base population to keep and that keeps playing here a lot, that is what we want, not a huge server pop, but a decently sized, loyal and for the most part, decent playerbase. Reddit or not, most players that inflate the count are bad, and having people be chaotic encourages others to be, mob mentality, we all know this.

let's call as "advanced materials" the ones made by mixing 2-3 materials (plasteel = plasma + iron; reinforced glass = iron + sand; plasma glass = sand + plasma; reinforced plasma glass = sand + plasma + iron) and "simple materials" all the rest, made by just 1 material; you could be able to choose how many of these advanced material you should obtain, leaving them to 0 will let all the ores be worked as simple material sheets, no need for priority.

Sec is fine, but science could be more spacious, it feels too compressed. Nerf the miner suit amount unless Im mistaking it for meta, they are both mediocre. Remove sec vendor recharge pack and the red lighter and replace it with a costume pack and a green lighter, more corners like the smoking one would be good, and give the cap something unique.

There are plenty of one line bugfixes, stylistic updates, full pathing, grunt work, mapping, etc. changes that someone could make without being detrimented by their inability to use git.
