I liked it too anon but the dev team went full retard after launch with the patches. That combined with the stupid decision of making 40man raids killed all hope. Not to mention most of the MMO playerbase wasn't even capable of getting attuned to raid in the first place, your average player these days couldn't clear silver dungeons. Hell they couldn't even bronze redmoon or sanctuary without abusing glitches. Was fun while it lasted though, actually had a lot of fun with the dungeons/raid even the adventures were fun.

Ignore the butt blasted idiot, the game is great fun, and is good for f2p players. You gotta be ready for giveaways for max pleasure though. There are tons of achievements that are really easy to get if you are good with card games.

If you are into Ankama stuff, the game is even more fun, since it have all the charm of their games (and animation) on it.

Personally;

DPS is the easiest but the most stressful because it's competitive.

Tank is in the middle because with modern MMO tanking you're just a DPS with better defensive cooldowns. When threat is an issue you have to have a good rotation and know when to spread your damage, but you're mostly relying on NPC behavior for your job.

Which is why I think healer's the hardest. How you do your job is much more reliant on how well everyone else is doing theirs. Of course that's true for all roles but it stands out for them.

But I don't heal (really awful at focusing on healthbars and everything else) so maybe they would disagree.

Ankama made a FANTASTIC world, full of life and lore. The animation is great, and they put all that love in their games. This little card game let's you play with all the creatures and heroes of that world, with effects and themes based on them; is really, really fun, specially if you are a fan of their work. So yeah, that's one big plus to be hyped about.

You aren't late AT ALL, the game barely have a couple of weeks since open beta started. Like I mentioned before, they have been giving a ton of free packs for release, you just gotta pay attention. The game SEEMS to be overwhelming at first, since getting gold doesn't seem to be easy, but is a lie; the trick is to just learn to work with what you have to gain all the first time easyasheck achievements to get your first set of packs. From playing with all the Gods for a silver pack, to even losing 5 times in a row for 50 gold.

You win a gold pack on the first quest after the tutorial, that should give you an infinite card, all the infinites are heroes from the Ankama universe, is really neat to get them. I got Nox on my first pack, it was neat.

I recommend you to buy EVERYTHING bronze; only save for a gold pack if you really, REALLY want an infinite, but is not worth it, for real. Once you get 5 infinites from gold packs (if you didn't resist) you should stop by all means. Is the limit on a deck anyway.

I got Bakara from a bronze pack yesterday, made my day.

Hey /mmog/, I just want to chill out in a sandbox game that lets me craft or farm or have a house. Was thinking about Archeage but everywhere I see warns off that game as P2W in the extreme and that there's a lot of ganking and camping of shit even if you're not into the PVP aspect.

Another thought I had was Mabinogi, I think I might've played that once. Game's old as shit, is it still fun if I just want to fuck around and play Stardew Valley Online?

Wakfu have good housing, and a shit ton of grinding in many different activities that then let you decorate your bag/house.

Wildstar have an amazing housing system that is practically it's own game.

Pick either, depends whether you like 2d or 3d the most.

The game is hard on f2p players. It takes 60 gold to buy a bronze pack (which is shit) and you would need to recycle 15 common cards to make 1 common. If you compare it to another card game, Hearthstone for example, then you can see how hard it is on f2p players. In HS you would only need to recycle 10 cards to make a common, not to mention you can do it anytime. In Krosmaga you would need to have the max amount of cards before being able to recycle it, 3 commons, 3 uncommons, 3 rares, 1 krosmic and 1 infinite. So if you have a shit infinite card you cannot recycle it unless you have a second one.

The gold is also capped at 60, 100 if you include the daily quest. You get 5 gold per win. Again, let's compare it to Hearthstone's 30 gold/3 wins or 10 gold per win (HS is also capped at 300 gold per day). HS packs are 100 gold each so it would take 10 wins to be able to buy a pack but since it's in multiples of 3 it would realistically be 12 wins for 1 pack with 20 gold left over. Krosmaga also needs 12 wins to buy a bronze pack, which is the shittiest one and should never do. The next best pack is the silver which is 120 gold and would take 2 days to get.
A hardcore HS player can buy 2 packs per day (reaching the gold cap is pretty hard) whereas in Krosmaga you can only buy one every 2 days. So whoever said getting cards in Krosmaga is easier than HS is a liar.

The game is also unbalanced and incomplete, (no arena yet).

Crafting cards isn't viable until you have enough cards to recycle and getting gold is hard.

Krosmaga have the roulette, that's easily 2 or 3 free packs per week.

HS quests have nothing on KM, since KM have silver and gold packs as possible quests. The min reward, 40g, is really close to a free pack, every-single-day.

KM will have arena "soon".

HS campaign cost a shitload of gold that will take a couple of months to get as a free player. KM will have campaign mode as well.

Some of the KM achievements easily take a year to complete, and there will be more to come.

HS SECRET achievements that give out cards are way too complicated or costly to even matter at all (pirate parrot, etc.)

So YOU shut the fuck up since you are willing to sperg false facts (30g instead of 10g) to try to shit talk this game.

And bronze packs rule if you have luck. They are super cheap, and will give you infinites and krosmics every now and then. To be completely honest I think the Healer class is a dumb/boring concept and I can't believe there are people out there that enjoy being bored. Literally just stand in the fucking back line and spam the same button over and over even if your team has full HP.

Actually the entire concept of traditional MMO combat is boring. You click on a fucking enemy and let the game do 75% of the work. The only thing you have to do is keep your hand on the mouse so you can pop that heal potion or mp potion when needed. It's no surprise why Koreans only like competitve DFO when talking MMOs. They like BnS too so I guess there's that. But even BnS has a lot of moves where the game plays itself. 20 meter skills that dash towards the target without the player having to manually dash. It's dumb and boring.

AA had some good shit going on.

In small scale PVP, 5v5 Healer+CC/antiCC was damn strong and fun.
You could make totally viable archer+healer or melee+healer class.

Tank+healer was best PvE tank due to selfhealing and aggro generated on these heals. Working pretty well. Same class was also great for large scale pvp healing such as sieges.

You could even play tank+heavyCC, small damage but you could lock people in cc forever. Great for party pvp.

ArcheAge had so much going on with classes, yet not everyone tried to exploe this whole system sticking to FoTM classes like darkrunner, then crying no1 want to invite them to dungeon or siege.

I could go for hours about different builds for different situations. R.I.P. in Peace.

Right time to play AA was alpha and CBT.

It brought me back to going blind into dungeons with guild, trying to figure out how to defeat bosses etc. And roaming with guild on enemy territory was grand too.

If they game was buy to play ot p2p it could be better. People back then were ready to pay for alpha/beta players only servers behind p2p wall. Open beta /all chat was most cancerous I've ever seen.

ToS of savior had some interesting ideas, like the linker, to share the damage and buffs between party members and multiply the damage among enemies and that guy who had the buff that increased the number of buff you could receive.

The balance and implementation of these ideas were terrible tho.

Most skills scale terribly as your rank goes higher unless they're for utility or entirely based on a % of your stats.
The whole concept makes the whole class system a joke since most of the times you're not thinking "which class is going to work best with each other" but "ok the current max rank is X my class in the end will be Y all I have to decide is what to use as a filler as I get there".

Yep, was about to write that. My only hope is for it to get a private server, but even so, only the hardcore of the hardcore MMO players would ever play it, and the whole, the best part of this game, was discovering it with new, dedicated players.

The 3rd dungeon was a huge filter, the quest and dungeon was so hard and complicated to do, every single casual (and mid) lvl player leaved. Having to actually read hints to resolve a big puzzle later on the game, having no map, and with monsters that can kill on 4 hits everyfuckingwhere (and remember, death had the possibility of deleting your character) was so heavy, very, very few players were still playing on the 4th dungeon that was even HARDER and longer than it. But you know? The few people that actually went forward, were the best buddies you could ever get. You trusted your party to take care and bring your body to the shrines to revive you, you counted on that one mate that had amazing memorizing skills to tell you were to go now since having a map was a fucking luxury. You trusted the thief to actually get something out of that goddamn chest that may kill you if you open it without the necessary skills (and you did the whole thing for it.) And many, many more things.

It was such a good game, Jesus, not a single MMO compared to it. RIP in peace.

I want to like wakfu but for it being a tactical game with a million skill effects and none of them are terribly practical drives me nuts.

Played ToS on release and a bit after casually. Comfy game and overall good fun, but the linear quest leveling is awful after the first time and you will do it more than once in order to try different builds. Love the music, combat, and art. Always been a big fan of farming mobs for rare drops like hats. Just wish I didn't have to do quest grind every fucking time. Mob grind is a lot more fun for me. Doesn't help it released unfinished, poorly optimized, and with generally poor management. Heard it's getting better though.

I see you had no cards left in your hand. I recommend you filling your deck with some good huge costly monsters for the endgame. They aren't easy to deal with, and will eat all the removals that kill your lesser units in a turn.

Wobot 01 is great for this, the cracklers that leave behind units as well. Learn to control the field, this is very important in this game. Try to avoid costly cards with 2 health; they are really, really easy to deal with, and will die to almost every removal card on the game.

It have as much RNG as Hearthstone, and if you didn't catch the free card packs at the start of the PC release... well, good luck; packs are hard to get. If they are really smart they'll save the Adamai for a dofus killing move, otherwise, as good as it is, it can be a waste. Just resummon the Wobot the next turn if you don't have a fatal on the other side of the lanes. Always keep an eye on their movements. You can ignore them 'till they are one tile away from your Dofus (though, this will require you knowing they don't have movement spells, but that's advanced stuff.)

Screw this card mate, I hate as well. My easy answer is though, just remove your stolen unit with a card. I have reversed the reversal many times like this (and got the dofus.)

Strich cards are just a rookie's bane. Just learn to play around with them, and don't fear to end your turn to kill them without summoning anything if they are on the path of your cards. Learn how they move, they will always switch no matter what unless they have another unit at the side, that way you'll always know where to summon your defenses. I never waste my precious removals on them.

Really? I already had like 80 dofus fragments the first week I played. Have you unlocked all the gods? Having them all unlock cards that come on the normal packs. It multiplies your chances of having too many copies.

Play with all of them vs humans to get a silver pack.

If this was the case, you were already losing anyway. Best case for these? It was a fake dofus. Try to always attack from your fake dofus for this.

Yeah? If you are controlling the map, this isn't an issue. You could also save it for Adamai itself, since he takes 3 turns to get to your dofus.

It is random, but is so easy to read. Don't put your defense summons on it's path, but at the sides. Have another waiting on the other side for 100% chance of blocking. Is so easy, I'm not joking.

Try to always be the one dominating the field, learn your god strenght and exploit it. Everyone have their own thing going. See the normal cards you can craft of them to improve your deck.

And this lead me to your issue with fragments. If you are having such an awful time, just wait. Get your daily coin and slowly work on your cards before going full at ranked. Quests generally don't need you to win, and if you get those, just reroll. Getting gold is so easy on this game.

I had 70. I used 30 to complete the quest, now I have 40. I doubt making 1 treechnid will make a difference.

Exactly. I was playing defense because the guy just kpeps using Homing arrows and Inflict arrows.

And how do you do that when they charge at you? Or when they return your cards in your hand? Or when they just outright kill anything you summon? Have you even played against a charge Iop?

Skip it, I wasted like 2 weeks of my life on it before realizing it was NEVER going to change. What do I mean by this? Every class have a super simple set of skills that you repeat over and over and over and OVER again. Do this change on raids? NOT AT ALL, is the same fucking thing, everyone spamming running away from mobs. There is no depth to the combat at all, is super plain, and this is by design, since it's designed to be a super casual MMO.

The community is also full of literally 10-14 year olds, complete with hugs and kisses and candy/sweetmemes talk, making me feel like an ancient piece of trash that dare to hate on them just because they are silly little kids.

The grinding is also MASSIVE; cooking, fishing, questing, farming, achievements. All for that 0.0003% extra damage on your skills.

Is dumb as hell, not worth at all mate. Grand Fantasia is still their best game that is sadly ruined by their P2W mechanics.

Yeah, Grand Fantasia is a pretty fun game if you put some time into it, the economy has gotten better and stuff is relatively affordable since dungeon limits got removed, but its still P2W as fuck, even the spanish private server is. I liked Kitsu Saga as well but the bot ruined it, cant remember enough about it to say if it was an improvement over GF or not though.

Sad, isn't it? I have played all X-Legend games, and the one with the best impresion for me so far, has been Grand Fantasia. Bigger worlds, simpler architecture compared to the ugly peacock that are the other games, far, faaar deeper character building and combat, and... the stupid lover system that got me 2 gf's (Portugal and Argentina, both incredibly beautiful) and a bf (Greek trans-model) that made quite an impact to me. So yeah, still their best game.

The stuff that happened to Eden Eternal is hilarious. The inflation is so massive, people sell accounts with the maximum amount of gold that they can carry since it's THAT BIG.

Yeah, the P2W got to me at the end. The stupid weapons breaking after you farmed >80 hours for each of them is also dumb as heck. The grinding is so big for free players.

I feel the same way about x-leg games, honestly everything after GF just went downhill (Aura Kingdom/EE were fun for like a week or two), not to say it was a great game by any means but for what it was it was very enjoyable until it went full cash shop and tiered spender mode. Hell, I remember people sperging when +15 was introduced and now they're at +20.
