She's more just unpleasant than outright bad.
She's awkward to use, looks ugly, and it's just an XP roadblock in front of what you probably really want, which is why a lot of people just don't enjoy her.
If you like high tier BB gameplay then she's fine, but if not then she has no real redeeming factors because she basically has all the worst stuff about Hotel, while having none of the good things, but it's still perfectly possible to get decent results with her.

Worse. I just did that grind and got my YamCan tonight. The problem with it, as far as I'm concerned, is the gun accuracy. Jap guns are crazy accurate at almost all tiers and so that becomes your play style. The Iz has accuracy on par with the North Carolina, which just is not acceptable at tier 9. This is even more jaring coming after the Amagi, which is a crazy sniper.

So a Zao on my team bitched like a true sperg about BBs and DDs while getting a witherer a few minutes into the battle and he said CAs are weak because the class is easy to one shot and inconsistent with damage but when I looked up his stats, it was his only T10 CA and he had high survival rate with 90k average damage.
