Tougher attack planes are usually the way to go since they are equivalent to having strike planes that are one tier higher.

I usually go for fighter HP too, but there's an argument to be made for servicing time as well. HP does mean you're less likely to be one ticked by random shit you fly over at least.

You either get overpen or multiple citadels on them.
The cool thing about them is that when they're slighty angled and at medium range they're easier to citadel due to shell vertical angle of impact and overlapped sections of armor.
