The game really does get ludicrously "progressive" in terms of character diversity, and it's pretty blatant pandering by ubi if you start reading character bios.

You have Valk who overcame all odds despite her injury becoming the first female Navy SEAL, to Hibana being a walking talking Mary Sue operator who's fluent in 7 languages and is absolutely perfect and can come up with anything in the field and shot up the ranks despite being born in Okinawa and is actually a Nagoya native which is like three minorities in one. Or JTF2 comprised of chink and frog minorities who have historically been staunchly anti-war and always vote against Canada taking part in international affairs. The only female who makes sense is Ash, with a working bio and also because Clancy seemed to really like Israel in his books.
I don't like the game any less because of this, but it's pretty bad.

You're not wrong, but the R6 in the books is the best in the world, the tier 0 of operators.
Also, there's also the believability of it. Sledge and Mute are arguably gary stus, but since they're a reboot of R6 they have believable in-universe experience and knowledge even if the R6 2.0 team are mostly comprised of misfits. Some ops, namely the ones in my post, are Mary Sues on a whole other dimension.

You ask your Jager friend to place ADS in important places to hold, or you play Jager yourself.

You don't let the enemy control the Fuzeable spot in the first place (same goes for wallbang/floorbang spots, like Bedroom of House, where if you let them control the first floor you're fucked because they can just kill you by throwing grenades and shooting through the floor.

You should not be sprinting like crazy all the time - the best operators to go fast with are obviously the light 3 speeds. But you don't want to be running around all of the time necessarily. You get the sense of when to go slow and when to go fast depending on the game, and depending on how much sound you can afford to make. Remember that if you sprint around everywhere when shit is quiet will enable the enemy to hear you coming a mile away.

Your value increases the longer you survive, because your gadget is most effective when used during the last 30 seconds or so. That doesn't mean you should only use them then though, just that you should try to conserve them. It helps a lot to be cheeky with gas placement tucked away in some nook and barbed wire right underneath the hiding spot - so that as soon as you hear rustling, you detonate it.

You try to use your gas by choke points you know they are likely to come from. If you can combine with this with barbed wire there, you're golden. Impact grenades are also useful in other scenarios though for when you need multiple access points somewhere. It depends.

You get crazy blinded if you're inside one, and if you get shot while blind, you may notice you're practically out of the smoke radius on the killcam despite being so blind.
It's a nice feeling smoking off all entrances to an objective and watching the defenders panic blindfire their way in through the smoke. If someone is holed up in a dead end you can also just throw a smoke at them, if they try to push out you'll easilly see them first.

How do you even Monty push properly and responsibly?

I've tried playing behind Monty and it's always a fucking nightmare trying to not shoot him when he keeps bobbing back and forth. Like imagine shooting a guy behind the hostage, except the hostage is standing up and actively bobbing back and forth in your line of fire.

I always try to stick to one wall/side to have a clear predictable trajectory and properly communicate when I'm changing on the other side of a hallway to get a better peak and give the teammate a better angle also.

I still can't shake off the feeling of dread that I'm being a piece of shit nuisance to the guy behind me.

About all you can do is communicate back and forth and hope for the best. Get him to fill a doorway or breach, call out where the defenders are, and then have him move a bit to the left or eighth so you can get a shot in. Alternatively, you can let the Defenders take potshots at him while everyone else flanks from another angle ex:Thermite cuts a hole for him in garage on House, Defenders shoot at him while rest of team comes down the stairs and catch em in the back
