No way would ARES or even Vinson condone ever fighting against IMC Remnant elements of any sort. Same goes for Aces, 6-4, and MCOR, there's no indication of any real friction between the Militia factions outside of Barker being drunk 24/7.

It's disappointing that there's no coherent faction vs faction mechanic, but I'm mostly over it at this point.

There was no customizable color schemes, everything was dictated by the faction the MM put you in and the weapon of your choice.

Pistols are like substitutions to primary weapons, typically one bullet weaker and a smaller ammo capacity. You use them to cover for whatever role your primary isn't good at (until you find and pick up something fully fledged, or Titans come in and you switch to an AT Weapon).
P2016 is like a mini G2.
RE 45 is like a mini CAR.
The two Wingmans are like a mini DMR and Kraber.
Mozambique is like a mini Mastiff.

DMR is legitimately useful for those campy types or to just line up a steady two-or-one shot kill. Amp it or shoot through an A-Wall and it's very dangerous.
Kraber is for those sick montage worthy 360 quickscope one shot kills.
Double Take is like a Kraber, but trading lethal damage for firing speed, and two projectiles cover more space.

The EVA-8 is lethal as fuck and can one-shot if you're within about ten meters range. That kind of range is not uncommon.

Mastiff is inconsistent, being a projectile weapon with a fixed spread that is likely to miss most of its grouping, and slower firing despite being no stronger than the EVA-8 up close, but if you zoom in to halve the spread, it can cut people in half, and it maintains much better damage over a distance than the EVA.

forget if i posted this last night, was crazy tired. i managed to kill a 75% hp doomed scorch with an amped carbine. do all titans take decent damage when hit in crit spots with regular weapons(besides grenadier), or was this because the scorch was doomed?
makes me wonder if it might be better not to switch to AT weapons if a doomed titan is in my sights or chasing me or something. depending on the weapon, the second or two it takes to switch and aim might not be worth it?

New to this game and I know I should probably play around with the rest of the Titans but my god I'm having too much fun with Scorch.

Yes, while an Amped gun will usually only take one fewer bullet to kill a pilot, it roughly doubles to triples the damage done against Titans.
So your R-201 goes from dealing 70-50 damage per shot to 170-150 per shot to a Titan.

If you perfectly landed an entire stock 24 round magazine with the 201 at long range, that's 3600 damage.
All Titans' Doomed health being 2500, an Amped gun can tear through that amount like it was nothing.
Also, the Shield layer is 2500 health, and Titan core health varies between 7500, 10000 and 12500.

I just fucking realized that the Tracker 40mm really does have limited crosshair tracking. I just assumed it had very exaggerated arcing and the gun itself simply compensated for elevation/projectile drop akin to an FCS, making it accurate as fuck.

I always throw Holo Pilots out in front of me (or make use of Cloak sometimes) before I go out into the open or running down a long hallway or anywhere I know an enemy will be. I have a very low chance at winning a fight against anyone using an accurate hipfire hitscan weapon, so I absolutely must win the fight before any shots are fired. That is to say, gotta get them looking elsewhere so I can hit them first. Flank a lot.

In a head on fight, just have to get really good at leading your shots. The basketball-sized projectiles give you some lenience, but the weak damage output of the L-STAR is still going to be a massive disadvantage. Losing speed is honestly a good idea. It's easier to evade shots when you're not going fast in a straight line. Just be sure not to double jump, that makes it too easy to track you. Stick with single jumps and moving side to side.

And of course, the Star combo with the Gravity Star. Shoot 30~ stars into the gravity well and you got a pretty lethal death blossom.

Oh, in addition, some quirks of the L-STAR.

When you stop firing, the L-STAR does that little heat dispersion animation, it stops you from shooting for 0.6 seconds. This delay is also attributed to the weapon's cooldown, so firing in "bursts" is not actually such a good idea. Just hold down the trigger until one of you is dead or until you hear the alarm signal.

Said alarm is the indicator that you have 9 shots left before it reaches its limit.
There's more to this than just a low ammo warning, it's also a "minimum ammo" variable. The weapon can NOT fire unless it has at least nine shots ready to go. So if you let go with one shot left, you get that 0.6 second refire delay, an additional 0.1 second overheat delay and then another 0.888 seconds on top of that while it recharges eight shots. You're unable to fire for a second and a half and after that you still only have nine shots.

The L-Star regenerates ammo / cools down at a rate of nine shots per second. So if you were to fire 34 times, it would take just under four seconds (plus the 0.6 delay) for it to completely cool down. If you throw on the extended ammo to push it up to 40, and fast reload, letting it overheat and reload (6.0 seconds base, 4.0 seconds Fast) is faster than letting it cool on its own (0.7 seconds + 3.777 or 0.7 + 4.333).

Of course, letting it cool on its own is the way to go, since you can switch to your secondary and the L-STAR will recover while stowed away. Fast Reload does not improve the cooldown speed, only the overheated empty reload.

And one last thing, there is a 75% chance that the weapon will have one extra shot in it. If you let it heat break, you sometimes get an extra 36th (or 41st) shot coming out at the end.

In short, don't ever let it overheat, and if you're down to the Danger level, practice switching to your secondary.

I have been playing ion alot so ill just tell you the way i play.
I run the energy refund for crits so i use the rifle for landing crits and my main source of damage is the shoulder lazer. I rarely use mines because any competent titan will avoid them, but youd be surprised by how many pilots you can snag. With legions just use your shield to return thier bullets most are too retarded too stop firing and if they pop the gun shield aim for the feet. And remember to rush tones and pop your shield everytime a tone shoots you 3 times. Once you get past a tones shield they are nothing. Any other titan just shoot and lazer them till they die

The single shot of the Splitter does crap damage, but when you multiply it by 3 or by 5, it's the most powerful weapon available to Ion about as much as the Laser Core. And while it consumes Ion's energy meter, denying you use of the other abilities, the Splitter Rifle's zoom mode can still be used with zero energy.

So if you're sure you can bring an enemy to at least a doomed state and finish up with an execution, or attack and then escape to cover, dump your energy on two laser shots and then unload the zoomed in Splitter.

Some of the variables are server-side only or hidden in the starpak files, but here's what I see from testing, looking at slow video recordings and the limited data from the VPK files.

There's a lot more to the cluster missile than something like a consecutive series of explosions from the point of impact. Instead, the missile spawns a series of smaller bombs that shoot out at random from the point of impact and explode several times, bouncing each time they explode. While their movements are random, the cluster bombs are confined to an area surrounding the point of impact, and will be directed back towards the missile on the next explosion if it strays too far.

The initial Cluster Missile projectile deals a petty amount of 300 impact damage and 150 explosion damage to Titans. That's all that missile does. On impact, four cluster bombs (using the Frag grenade model) spawn one after the other and each explodes five times, once every second for the next five seconds.
The ideal total damage if each of the twenty cluster explosions hit is roughly 4000 damage to Titans.

Enhanced Cluster Missile:
Does NOT improve the damage nor the blast radius of the cluster bombs
Does NOT increase the length of time the clusters last
Does NOT alter the number of bombs nor the amount of times they explode.
It simply causes the Cluster bombs to jump around in a far greater area from impact.
Without it, the clusters appear to be stuck almost right on top of the missile. A 2m area at best.
With it, they jump around to at least four or five times as far away from the point of impact.

Kraber with cloak or phase shift, you're probably gonna have to start out with cloak seeing you need to learn to go fast, which you eventually will be able to, trust me.

either you can go with Ion because of her laser shot which is pretty much a small pocket sniper, or go with northstar, the actual sniper titan

There's not really anything other than "ranged". It's a first person shooter after all.

Before doing anything I would recommend playing through the campaign, or at least do a few rounds of the tutorial gauntlet until you get top 5 on the score board. Both will give you an opportunity to learn the guns and the movement system.

You will quickly learn that, assuming the enemy team isn't braindead, camping in one spot sniping people will quickly get you killed. People will be darting and dashing across the map flanking the shit out of you at high speeds. Even if you wanted to snipe, it would require a lot of moving from perch to perch, and unless you learn the movement system you're going to get gunned down by someone who did learn it zipping by at a gorillion sanics.

As for your second question, the deluxe DLC is just skins and some different titan chassis with executions.

Fighting from inside of your giant robot is a vastly different experience than Pilots being Cyberprince of Persia 2077, so you may find yourself at home in your robot (and in the Titan only game mode, LTS) rather than on foot. Titans don't match the uninformed "you're just an oversized infantryman now" claim, and it doesn't really play like what you may expect from the big name shooters.

Titan combat is for the most part a two dimensional battle. They can't jump (except for Northstar). The environment to them is a series of small boxes, corners and halls on a possibly bumpy but otherwise flat field. A shootout takes a long time because the chassis can take a hell of a beating before blowing up. Because of those beefy health bars, teamwork wins out. It's rare that a lone titan is going to beat two or three titans unless he has some significant situational advantage.

Placement is key, awareness extends beyond just looking out for guys of the same size as you; those pesky mosquito-like pilots are constantly popping out of the smallest spaces and from rooftops to take a shot at you. You're dealing with very tiny threats and very big threats at the same time, and your means of navigation are limited versus pilots.

Among the titans, you have several that are effective at long-range.
Ion's high precision laser beam
Tone's steady firing cannon
Legion's Power Shot.
Northstar's Railgun and cluster missile.
Scorch and Ronin are mostly limited to close range.

Northstar is often seen as the "sniper" of the group, but she isn't the kind of campy Battlefield sniper who can camp all day, nor some 360 noscope COD/CS sniper; she's a much more active sharpshooter. Back to that beefy health, she isn't just going to one-shot other robots. As the most frail, North needs to take a few critical shots and displace, a few shots and displace. Cover your escape and make sure you don't corner yourself or run into an ambush.

Like the Mozambique Drill it's named after, it is only one-shot lethal if all three hit and one of the projectiles hit the head. Otherwise you'll need to fire twice. However, if you use Amped Weapons or an A-Wall to boost the damage, it becomes extremely lethal.

What it lacks in one shot kill potential like the two primary shotguns, it has a higher rate of fire than both the EVA and Mastiff, so taking two shots is no big deal.
Another comparison to the Primary shotguns, while the EVA and Mastiff lose a lot of damage after a very short distance, the Mozambique maintains its high damage value for most of its 25-ish meter long range.

It's actually quite good, but it's still a projectile weapon, so you have that extra layer of difficulty in getting your shots on target.

Set size limit to 3mb and enable the high quality mode and 2-pass encoding. 10 second vids are good for 720p and if you have longer clips lower the resolution

If you're just using the command line, then "-fs 3M" will keep it under 3 megabytes. I'm not certain whether or not it's necessary when you're just using ffmpeg straight up, but you may still have to find the right bitrate or else you'll get either the length of the video cut off, or still a shitty picture.

I use the WebMConverter GUI for ease of use - when you set the filesize limit and leave out the bitrate in that, it'll automatically select the best quality rate that will just make it under 3MB and still contain the full length of the video you're converting.

You don't. siege got lucky af and just so happened to be in the right spot at the right time.
Other than csgo (which everyone I know is sick of at this point) it's completely alone in its genre, so if someone wants a squad sized tactical fps siege is their only choice. It's release window (december 2015) further minimised competition as their were no other multiplayer fps games released for like 7 months after launch and those that did start dropping in summer 2016 weren't really competition anyways.
It's also the only non-indie fps set in the modern day thats been released in what? 3 years? this at the height of normies getting sick of space themed stuff and with even battlefield moving away from the modern day, siege came at the most opportune time to snap up all the people that were desperate for tanshit and holosights.
It also retained players, both casual and hardcore, amazingly well for a couple of reasons
1. its unlock system is well paced, characters cost just enough to get new players to keep working for them but not enough for them to get bored while doing so
2.High skill ceiling always help
3.working towards the skill ceiling feels completely natural, you learn by playing and watching what others do around you, you don't need to watch 3 hours of pop flashes videos to get good which is huge.
4.the nature of the genre means the most coordinated team wins, other than the obvious benefit of this getting people to convince their friends to buy the game, it also means that when one guy logs on hes probably gonna try to convince a couples of his friends to jump on with him increasing active player base massively.
5. easily the best community of any pc shooter PERIOD. age range of 20-40+,friendly, callouts all day, everyone has a mic and knows when to use it (I've only had to tell someone to be quiet like twice in 500 hours), advising rather than chatting shit to newbies

post is disjointed as fuck but in summary sieges playercount increasing relied on such a ridiculous amount of variables aligning in its favour that its silly to think anything could replicate its sucess. there is no saving titanfall 2 the game was gonna live or die by the casuals and its release date meant it lost most of them, shit sucks but respawn isnt dead so its unlikely that titanfalls dead even with 2's lacklustre sales. from a actual player perspective I doubt the games gonna die( sub 1000 players) for like 2-3 years anyways just enjoy the game tf3 will probably be out by then anyways
