Im using realvision ENB and its way too fucking dark when it rains and at night. Especially when it rains though, its as dark as night. I also have climates of tamriel and the storm mod and what not, and it is thundering outside so im not sure if it just gets this dark for storms or what.

Where the book seems questionable to me is it being applied to human ethnic groups, moreso than man/mer pairings. (the Imperials in particular just being a branch of Nords for instance.)

It's a free roaming open world RPG with an interesting plot and setting if you choose to delve into them that also allows you to just fuck off and do your own thing if you'd rather just wander around and explore and do random quests rather than follow the main story.

The game's longevity was also helped by Bethesda releasing it with unprecedented mod support which lead to the PC version having a massive amount of player created content (a trait that has carried over to the more recent Elder Scrolls games) and which has helped by allowing users to modernize the graphics as the game has aged.

Some of the mechanics have aged better than others, but I'd say it's definitely worth playing if you're a fan of RPGs. You might want to look into some information on how to properly set up your character and the combat mechanics though if you decide to check it out.

Oh, it does dim when ENB is turned off.
What would do that, and how would I change it? I just clicked and scrolled through all the objects on top of the fireplace, and the only one that's changed by any mods is the floor, not the fireplace, which was changed by ELFX.

The magic system is a lot of fun with the ability to make your own spells from various spell effects adding a lot of interesting depth to it. As for what to do, I'm a little biased but I think all of the game is pretty neat. I think it's best to experience the game by exploring it without too much in the way of spoilers, but I would recommend getting familiar with the fast travel system (silt striders, boats, divine and almsivi intervention spells) because that will cut down on travel time somewhat.

And have a map on hand, the game was really designed with the idea that you'd have the paper pack in map to look at while playing.
