>Tips for new players
You can change vocations at level 10 at the Gran Soren inn or BBI.
Character appearance can be changed later on.
You don't need pawns, but they help.

>tfw you realize that you gonna end this lil nigga's life
Tier 3 sorc spells are pretty good at offsetting the cast times. Let's say it takes 30 seconds to fully incant a High Bolide, right? I don't know the actual time but roll with me here. Upgrade it to Grand Bolide and you're adding maybe 3-4 seconds on to that cast time for a massive increase in damage, range, etc etc.
Of course, the problem still lies in NOT GETTING INTERRUPTED but you know.
The game is still saying I've not gotten any rents on my sorcerer pawn. Could some of you rent her and give feedback so when I check later I can see if the game is borked or not? Trying in the new thread too
I've noticed that pawns almost never make expressions, at least in combat.
Well I liked your pic buddy.
Saved my waifu & she moves in with me & my witchfu. Then I have to go become god because nobody wants to just move away from the giant hole in the ground. But it's so boring being a god I just kill myself, find out my pawn loved me the whole time, and then he turns into a qt3.14 gril.
Does new game+ add anything or can I just keep my next character from being tainted by such a shitty end?
WHAT LEVEL SHOULD I BE FOR DAIMON 2 FUCK
WHAT LEVEL SHOULD I BE FOR DAIMON 2 FUCK
WHAT LEVEL SHOULD I BE FOR DAIMON 2 FUCK
>Get exactly that, too.
>The 3/3/3 + no item ones are all regulars, recognize their usernames since they hire very often.
>Despite constantly hiring my pawn, they keep doing this shit.
he's not very impressed with all your waifu shit
>level 88 strider : 1 million RC
>level 58 warrior : 0 RC
Death is just bullshit in BBI, when you just cant kill him.
>here, I'm gonna kill all 3 of your pawns
>whats that ? you dont have the 15K RC for that riftstone over there ? I guess you have to tp back to the entrance then
what a shitty mechanic holy shit
literally no fun allowed
also rate my BBI level 1 fashion
despite my lack of riftbucks on this account I'm almost at Daimon right now at level 57, bretty gud if I dare say so myself.
>warrior is bad
wow lil bitch turned on me
shoulda expected that I guess
I was talking about riftbucks from hires my dude.
the strider on my main earned me 1 million, while my warrior hasnt been hired yet, even though he has all the good augments, learned from me playing warrior since the start, and has been fashionable ever since I left the encampment.
He calls out my name in his sleep anon. And those looks he gave me, he wanted to fuck his master.
I got all of them to see what they were. Next character gets a
peaceful ending before I move the save file & start a new character again.Unless new game+ adds something I need
Where do I get good gear to fight Daimon? I can't even reach him right now with just 1.2k STR as ranger
Mines named Aya too. I guess there are hundreds of Ayas out there but I didnt think of that when I made her. I like the name its simple short and fits every fantasy story ever
use conqueror's periapts to cheese him until you get a lvl 2 weapon.
Either that or try to gold dragonforge whatever you have, the damage boost is crazy
give the mage barbed nails too for maximum knockdown, enemies lose their defense when they're knocked down and the damage boost is massive
I've been thinking is thier any real reason to go thru BBI on hard mode? I mean the xp is nice, but it isn't nessisary, and the stamina drain, and damage ruin my fun a lot right now. and I already have the costumes for clearing it.
>Get to the second credit roll
>Get to the part in which they show the 2 or 4 most used pawns
>Usually switch often but naturally every now and then some pawns just happen to stay for longer time than others...
Muh sides. Jesus christ i wasn't prepared for that at 1.00 am.
you should have equipped the longbow from Grigori, and automatically dragonforged it after dark bishop fight, with clout and vehemence this should bring you near 2k
after going through multiple runs of the base game and BBI on different characters this is the way its intended, level 1 BBI weapons just suck ass compared to grigori's, and I dont know if you can get a level 2 from BBI level 1, if you can then you also need to savescum a lot a particular chest.
Shes wearing clothes though
Would you hire her?
Inclinations are Scather/Mitigator
even had the same facial hair earlier but the beard looked much better
I stabbed the little shit later and got sent to jail ;_;
Well i was hoping you guys would be around my level but hey, its better to have a couple of maxed pawns that soak up exp so i can level up even slower.
Ill be using these two to farm some augs and then ill give them shitty weapons and head over to BBI.
Will be fun.
What other leg armor/clothing looks good with Chimeric/Crimson armor? The boots that are part of the same 'set' look awful and cause some major chicken legs compared to the bulk of the rest of the armor.
>bring my strider pawn to her first metal golem fight
>she annihilates the hanging medal with cloudbursts
>blows up the other medals with skull splitter
I'm so proud of her
Her inclinations are all fucked up too, utilitarian/pioneer/acquisitor
Sometimes in town she just fucking wanders off by herself and sulks in a corner
>not one, but two cursed dragons
Did someone say STONE JUNGLE? Because I heard someone say STONE JUNGLE.
>spend 5 hours with a mage pawn
>he caught my eye in the rift and his inclinations and skills were ok so i took him
>just had basic stuff, nothing to fuck with his ai, and no shitty dlc armor, a unique look
>go to release him finally, anticipating 5/5/5
>he was an npc pawn the entire time
>No clue what is going on
>get the 20 shards
>jump through the portal
>Looks pretty cool
I'm happy with that actually
>The plot ending
It's pretty much philosophy before Socrates.
But my pawn is a tank that spams CC moves and hardly ever dies, and when she does reviving her is an extreemly good time effectiveness choice since she will be up again for a long time
How to open this door? There is at least 6 fatties there and I want to upgrade my fire dags.
Aye. Jumping into the Everfall after giving the pawn 20 Wakestones triggers a point of no return. After that, there's pretty much no choice but to start NG+
I've been in post-game for well over 20 hours by now, I can't bring myself to NG+ because the ending depresses me.
I just finished that actually, I had no clue what to do in the everfall, so I just collected the shards and jumped in.
But I want to do NG+ and also hard mode.
Man, you're really blazing through this game on the second time through. But you can constantly tell that they wanted this game to be so much bigger than manpower, time and budget allowed.
Can you feel the power?
>giving him a fake
Youre the cunt, m8.
>Oh hey random dude I've never met before, bring me one of the most powerful magical artifacts of our time!
>Recompense? Why we'll discuss that after, naturally. Now get to it!
>Why are you looking at me like that?
Cunt had it coming.
What's the most reliable vocation to kill Death with? Tried it with my Sorcerer earlier, but I could barely dent him.
How? Which part of the game? I've already beat the dragon, and I'm now the Seneschal, I've not seen anything like that.
I'm stuck warping between the fisher village and the capital.
You might be retarded.
>hey get me this power artifact and I probably won't pay you y/n
>then you keep your word and give him the tome or you break it like an honorless cunt
it's that simple
and he does repay you if you keep your word
>He's a faggot that wants limitless power handed to him on a silver platter.
>You don't get anything without working for it.
He asks you. You agree or you don't. You're clearly a sheltered little twat who never leaves his parent's home. You literally don't have to involve yourself if that's how you feel.
Oh oops forgot picture.
Also why does this armor let any clothing under it clip through?
Really all you need is blast arrows and periapts or just spam ricochet hunter
>Pawn has returned from another world
>22 rc earned
>1 star in every category
>Some cockmongler literally caught and released my pawn to fuck it's score
just get strength bosters, make all of your pawns fucking fat fucks with blast arrows.
congrats you killed death. ranger is probally the only way to kill death in 1 go, since ten fold is practically a gurreenteed knock down with blast arrows.
>a small pile of debris that arbitrarily and nonsensically bars your path, forcing you to do xyz other things to progress
>in any way, shape or form fucking comparable to a cheeky cunt putting a funny hat on your head that gets removed not even 5 minutes later
Nigger are you 100$ serious right now?
How do MA and ranger stack up against each other? I did the game through once already as ranger and now on NG+ about to head into BBI but I'm feeling like I might like a change of pace. Will I do alright at base vocation level or should I grind out a little until I get certain skills?
How does he deserve power for asking random people on the street to do his bidding?
lore =/= gameplay, it's obviously supposed to be absurdly powerful (as is Salomet, who you poke once and he just keels over).
I don't think you fucking get it. One Affinity on a designated DAMAGE-DEALING class is bad enough, but two? Enjoy having a Sorcerer that literally never casts damage spells and spends 90% of a fight casting fucking weapon buffs.
Retards like you are the reason so many pawns are so shit.
>How does he deserve power for asking random people on the street to do his bidding?
I think you lack the cogency to be posting on this website. Where the fuck did I say he deserved anything?
>can't reach up and take a hat off, even if you go in your inventory like for any equipment
>can't step on something that's a few inches above ground level
Have you found an Item ID list yet for the PC version? I keep finding nothing but PS3 & Xbox lists, and none of them translate to PC. Gotta get dat Golden Idol mayne.
>Trying not to miss non-notice board quests
>Realize I missed with one with getting the cousin greenwarish because he can't fare to well in the outside and getting supplies back from Soul Flayer Canyon
Fuck me. Wanted to get most achievements in 1 ride but I guess I need to do NG+.
>shady looking albino tasks me to obtain a magical grimoire
>won't discuss any reward
>steal it from a wise bandit king who refused to surrender it
>give it to weird albino for no particular reason
>albino turns out to be an ok guy
whew i lucked out
Okay so the guides and wiki extensively detail how to build a Mystic Knight but nothing seems to indicate where I get a Magic shield, since apparently Mystic Knights can't hold a regular piece of metal on their arm anymore
The quests 'By royal decree' I II and III dont appear on the notice board, I'm in postgame ( which is required ).
I checked both notice boards from arisen refuge and arisen's respite, but nope.
wiki doesnt say it has prerequisites either.
In saying that it's wrong to NOT do everything this random hobo says you imply that he deserves your service.
He's no better than a beggar asking for a million dollar check for the promise of "maybe I'll suck your dick in the future, maybe".
Why is this fucking game hand crafted for the yellow vocations. Is it not enough that they have the most broken skills, damage, stat growth, and the safety of ranged battle? Nope, gotta make BBI a fucking joke for them on top, and even put garbage like that meta golem quest (one sigil is LITERALLY impossible to destroy without a yellow vocation Arisen or pawn with a bow).
Forcing arbitrary nonsense on the player is still just that regardless of effect on game progression. That's a different argument entirely. I've already stated what the problem is and got my answer anyway.
>buy DDDA for first time on PC
>HOLY SHIT this is actually great
>Finally complete my first playthrough and BBI run
>84 Assassin Levels on arisen
>84 Sorcerer Levels on pawn
>Finally pull myself away from the game to come discuss it
>I've fucked my pawn beyond repair not levling her as ranger or strider
>too late to make her an effective yellow class
>too late for me to be an effective caster
>too late for me to make a decent pawn with good decision making
Feels bad bros I wish they were more up front that pawns actually pick shit up from you on how to play classes.
>automatic magic cannon rape machine
Scather/Util/Miti is what I go for on my own sorc pawn. I did roll with challenger instead of scather but apparently challenger is more focused towards taking out ranged enemies first which are usually weak anyway and I also found challenger causing my pawn to occasional climb enemies.
not sure why you're asking me but here
use calc and change numbers to hex
>In saying that it's wrong to NOT do everything this random hobo says you imply that he deserves your service.
No, you insufferable moron, I said it was wrong to agree to help him then renege on your word. How is that so hard to grasp? Keep blubbering I'm done trying to explain the obvious.
I completed BBI at level 60, get gud.
if you're scared just go farm the everfall chambers, but it has some bullshit too, and its less enjoyable than BBI.
New player here, when should I switch vocation? My guys a strider and I plan for him to be a magic archer and my pawns a fighter and I plan for him to be a warrior. We're level 15 atm, just got to the gran soren inn and got the option is why Im asking
this isn't a min max question for the stat growths, but more of a when do I know I've got the max I can get out of a vocation? I dont wanna switch now if I was 100 exp from unlocking some sweet new augment, but I have no way of knowing when those are. Is it based on the little red circles? I think hes like 5/9 on those atm so would be good to finish that off before switching?
>kill boss dragon
>finish each room of post game everfall once
>ur dragon have half a life bar left, can't finish him off because can't hit it with my lvl 56 full strider
> no quests left except some random notice board shit
>Should i try BBi ?
Fucking how? My warrior/fighter combo can literally not touch it. I have to go all the way back and grab a robbed sissy or a yellow vocation pawn form the rift.
Name one thing a solo Assassin can't do, I'll wait.
Would you hire a fighter with an eyepatch?
I (as in, my character) only "agreed" because otherwise I wouldn't find this tome of limitless (lol) power.
Do you not get the concept of a role-playing game? Hint: it's not "get exp, level up".
thanks mate, guess I'll get it then. I was in his chamber four times yesterday, should I just stop until grace period? I heard something about your damage not counting if you dish out to much .. is this about dealing too much in a single encounter until he fucks off or overall total?
I just realized, playing as a Male arisen and fought three elder ogres, yet none of them have gotten excited. At the same time I can walk through the female bandit camp, undisguised and not holding the badge they give you after the quest
Does the game think I'm a girl or something?
puu dot sh
use the --> Item Editor
When you hit the max of your own vocation and get all the augments/skills you think'll be useful.
If this is your first time playing, just go into NG+ first. Shit'll make more sense.
Something along the lines of utilitarian/challenger/mitigator.
I swear I see so many guardian/pioneer ones.
Lolis are fine as long as they're not slutty
My Sorc pawn was on scather too and although I never saw her climb anything, she did it all the time in other worlds.
Should read up the wiki article on inclinations.
Well she's not slutty, but she's level 100. So I guess that won't work.
so uh, am I supposed to take the chest armor off my pawn to get him hired? He looks incredibly better without it on but he loses a ton of def
are looks more important than surviviabilty when hiring pawns for most people?
Pawn 'learning' is overrated
There's a lot of cool stories about pawns floating around
They work just fine if you get their bestiary filled out and set them up with good inclinations
Try a neutrilising elixir, I've heard that they also erase any learned behaviour a pawn has. They still work off of bestiary knowledge so don't worry about it turning into a literal retard.
>Have two pawns that are really helpful so I've had them for 13 levels planning on giving their owners 5/5 reviews
>Get to that part where the Cockatrice thing attacks the town
>Didn't know I needed to buy potions to prevent petrification
>Watch as they both succumb to petrification
>It was all my fault for not protecting my rentals
There are some areas that just fuck you, like the catacombs for instance. Not because of the enemies, no, but because of the fucking elevator. It murders pawns. It's killed my main pawn and support pawns like 4 times and it saves after they're dead because fuck you.
Not him, but my sorcerer pawn has turned into a complete retard lately so I might do that.
Hopefully he'll go back to staying the fuck away from enemies while casting his nukes
It's a solid "fuck bad pawns" but it randomly chooses the sacrifice and no you can't fire it if you don't have a pawn. It's also a bit of a fuck you to people you hire from because it gives the pawn a rating of 3/3/3 so you're messing with their average.
Can someone who has played a lot of Mystic Knight give some advice on how to build one? I'm not really going for strength MK or magic MK, I just want a character that can, at any time, switch up playstyles with MK and still be very effective.
What should I level as in my first 100 levels? What augments should I go for? What are the best combinations of abilities to go for?
I picked it up and the animation is pretty awesome. I feel real bad when I use it though.
I might just hire a bunch of loli/princess dress wearing shitters to use as ammo.
Speaking of magick archer, does starting mage, doing a couple dozen sorcerer levels and then swapping between ranger and m-archer until 100 make for a solid stat plan? The only thing lacking there is defense but m-archers can wear most everything but heavy armors anyway so there's ample room to make up the gap.
>look at me i can kill steal!
fuck steffen and fuck you, anon
Please hire and give feedback, I need it! Line 146 on pawn sheet.
>try to make my fighter pawn look good while only wearing self found armor because everyone here blasts the DLC armor and says they would never hire anyone with it
>doesnt get hired once
>put the blue DLC armor on him last night before heading to bed
>wake up to him hired 4 times
you fucking faggots lied to me
fuck all of you
Are you supposed to do BBI before or after Grigori? Asking because I found out I can't complete the quest where you kill the 2 knights at pre-dragon Everfall
Should I just go into New Game Plus and go straight to BBI if I want to play through it?
You can do it, it's more about your gear levels anyway. Just that the story makes more sense if you complete the game first.
Also you could try going with a different vocation on your second run.
Wanna try mine? Util/Challenger
Biggest flaw is obviously not max rank so I don't have the best augments, still levelling her after strider/warrior/fighter ranks
>actually giving a shit about something as juvenile as "kill-stealing"
>in a fucking single player RPG where you gain EXP no matter who kills an enemy and no matter how it dies
You're trolling, I hope.
Witch Elf, maybe? Bowless Strider, I guess.
don't fuckin judge me
>although I never saw her climb anything, she did it all the time in other worlds.
How in shit do you know that?
Mine's a scather and she explicitly avoids close range combat. The last time she climbed something was early game when she was a strider.
I have a homie who hires her a lot and he told me. I dunno, man.
replace the dot with a . and put a / behind it
Vehemence, Clout, Acuity, and Attunement are core on MK. Skills are Blitz and Cannon on weapon, 3rd is whatever you like, and Anguish/Reposte on shield, and 3rd is whatever you like. Sorc levels are the most important, do Assassin instead of Warrior, you'll need the stamina from Assassin, and the STR is better. Your armor will take care of defensive stats, and you can always git gud and not get hit as much, so you don't need bloated HP.
At what point did you guys switch to hard?
>pawn actually fights alongside me
>does his part
>contributes actively at all times
>doesn't show up at the very end of the fight and nabs the kill with a cheap spell
Mine's practically the same.
I guess I'm just unlucky.
Seems kinda useless on a pawn. Seism is nice, though.
Fence hoppers have such shit taste. How the fuck are Julien, Valmiro, and Barnaby not good enough? Hell, if you're a bara fag, they even have the likes of Maul and Ser Max.
The female choices are a lot fucking worse, A LOT.
right after you removed yourself, you kill steal enabler
>when you accidently break the glowing discd
You're insane. How long did that take?
A regular golem bends over to gicel, but those amulets were tough as nails. I hired a range-focused ranger and had her take care of the one hanging from that tree.
Is it just me or reaching 3 stars Chimera makes your pawn fucking retarded?
Since I did my ranger just climbs it even though she rarely bothers to climb anything.
Same thing happens with the hydra.
Steam Profile: SopaParaguaya, appreciate an add, or if someone can use my pawn, Strider Rank Max, lvl 71. Doing BBI and Everfall right now. Will add your pawns also. I want to get rid of the game generated ones.
How many levels of Sorcerer do I need to grind so I can play MA without my damage being shit? How high of a Magick stat should I aim for?
I'm lvl 65 and I've only played strength classes so far
Steffen actually made the fight trivial the first time. I didn't do much damage against the Griff because Magick Archer and he roasted that chicken well-done within seconds. Sure he's cheeky about it and my special snowflake pride got a bit hurt but on the other hand it saved a lot of trouble, just wish he came sooner.
Doesn't affect me because strider. I either jump in place and brain splat or climb on and stab. Don't need to see often
She doesn't use it enough but when she does it destroys. Seism didn't seem to do a whole lot for me
Some of us have been playing this game for 4 years now, buddy. I started on hard, too, and my first death wasn't until level 41 to an Ogre.
I absolutely recommend that new players start on Normal, but once you've reached a certain level of experience with the game, anything less than Hard just feels patronizing and boring.
try it and see what happens, rift slut
I'm a strider and my Pawn is a strider, I'm currently at level 40. What other vocations should I look at for augments?
My Pawn seems to be very good at battling shit despite the lack of appearance ratings (Just a muscled tanned girl dressed properly) but I think there's room for improvement.
You really are insane.
Then again, it took me an hour and a half to deal with the first golem you encounter because the only effective thing I had was my fists and the pawns I hired were braindead regarding golems.
You wont' need eyes anymore, where you're going.
>Literally not a single shred of skin can be seen, not even hands or face
>Expects to be hired
If I wanted a walking mountain of metal, I'd hire a male, independent pawn who needs no Arisen fags.
I cannot believe how shit these fucking threads and posts are. Jesus Christ.
This is the new /ddg/.
Is there any game that handles the night as well as DD?
Clout and Vehemence are core augments on every physical build. Also, spend the rest of your levels as Assassin, even if you want to end up as Strider. Assassin just has objectively better Strider stats than Strider.
So what do the symbols under the pawn details in the Rift mean?
I figure the handshake means you've hired each others pawns, and the two people would be the friends icon, but what do the arrows mean?
Well I was planning on giving some unpurified level 3 gear away but I guess that's cool as well.
I choose based on skills/augments first and looks second. I don't care about equipment because I've never had a problem reviving pawns. As a sorcerer with strider augments, it's incredibly easy for me to get in and out to revive a pawn if I really must.
But really, did you expect anything else? There's no way in hell the post-PC threads were gonna be the same as the console threads. 4chan's culture changed a lot since then, as did the userbase. There's nothing anyone can do about it but lament silently.
>Assassin just has objectively better Strider stats than Strider.
>he doesn't do hybrid build strider in a game where sapfire daggers exist
your opinion is so fundamentally wrong that you can't even properly quote me anymore
I know... I know...
It's just hard. I came to /ddg/ this morning, ya'll already have an unused thread >>129514564, and the first fucking post I see is >>129531795.
I just can't deal with the anger.
I mean fuck, I'm still butter over /dsg/..
Being incompetent is an attractive trait to some. Also, he's one of the better looking males, and not a manlet. Honestly, if you can't see how gayfags or women can find him attractive, I question your judgement. Barnaby is good looking and all, but the dude has 0 fucking personality.
>I'm so tired of this arisen shit
Nigga, all this time all it was was a cheat table?
I was hoping it was a lost for the PC Item IDs
The Item editor does not help you figure out what the IDs are.
Thanks either way Anon.
>being incapable of friendly arguments
I'm perfectly capable of friendly arguments. Being awash in a sea of PCuck memes, hardware inquiries, and whining, entitled noobs isn't "friendly arguing".
How'd he fare in combat? Did he fuck up often or was it smooth sailing? Can you be descriptive?
>tfw can't stop assassing
how do I live with dire gouge and blitz strike
You're in the club when this guy rips out your girlfriend's heart and eats it right in front of you.
What do you do?
First time into the Bitterbutthole Isle.
I get it, it's an RC dump because there really wasn't one before, but does everything need to have a Pawn Deletion move?
I'd love to rent a mage pawn but I'm only level 36, but I wouldn't mind adding someone to rent their higher level pawn! IDs? Or if you have a pawn near my level just post their name and I'll search them up!
I really want to like savage/indomitable lunge but it just seems so bad.
You can barely control it at all, there's a huge delay before you start and you phase through enemies half the time
I don't know, I just hired her. I'm just going to be running through BBI and maybe some cursed dragon farming. Most melee pawns will just run into death anyway.
If a pawn can save me while i'm being Man-Eatered then its a pass in my book.
In the Griffins Bane quest are the soldiers involved in the first fight the ones you can save for Mercedes or is it just the ones at the tower?
I'm having trouble enough as it is not killing the Griffin in the first fight because me and my Pawn are too strong for it, but being passive means these soldiers are getting their shit pushed in.
>Loot chest - it's shit
>"Use a Wakestone?"
Apparently scather conflicts with it so utilitarian would probably make him use drum more effectively
Most people prefer scather since guardian lets enemies get close enough to fuck you up before they can react
