Tried switching my Sorcerer pawn over to Challenger/Util./Mitigator, but he still rushes wolves like it's his job, and cancels spells early for no reason. Any ideas as to why? I heard synergy is supposed to help if you're a sorcerer too, but I'm an MK.

Pawn system was bugged for a few days when first released. Some people claimed it was still bugged for some people while it was starting to work for others.

I just know that I personally am really just about getting the abilities and intonations I want. Not picky on appearance except for if it's a loli or in the DLC dress, which I try to just avoid as a rule. Some vocations are probably much more picked than others and females over males.

Died once to it. Was caught off guard because the sword and board guy and archers were a significantly greater threat than all the kiddy shit before them. I would've marched right back there to fuck em up, but the game is incessantly badgering you about the whole "tis not defeat to run from battle, tis survival master" speel. So I figured I'd just come back to it later. Then I step into Gran Soren and the game decides to randomly cancel a quest for no reason, which ends up locking out future areas and quests. Honestly I find there to only be two sets of pawns: The healer/support, and a Tank.
Pawns barely do fuck all DPS as it is, so they're there to distract the enemy moreso or heal me with Anodyne or Affinity's.

Every single time I hire a Warrior Pawn, a Strider, a Ranger, etc. they do fuck all most of the time in terms of damage, and they barely attack as much as I would. They're too busy running around to get safe positions to do things, or just crawling all over the enemy and never getting crit spots and all that good stuff.

I've found it to apply to even the max tier of pawns who have every star for every enemy and are decked to shit in both levels and equipment.

Friendly reminder that all pawns in BBI should ideally have:

100% Sleep Resistance
100% Petrification Resistance
100% Possession resistance

Also Silence immunity if they're casters. All these debilitations render a pawn dead/useless/dangerous and are much more serious than the others.

Defense doesnt mean a damn thing if you're constantly burning through Wine or Softeners, or if a Cursed Dragon decides to turn your entire team against a host.

Items such as Ancient Circlet, Ancient Gauntlets, and the resist Earrings can provide really good resistances without massively impacting your overall armor set. Also plenty of underclothes when Goldforged provide massive resistance bonuses so you can wear them under much shinier armor.

Anyone with actual experience with the game knows Hard Mode is actually easier. You bathe in endless amounts of gold and XP and outlevel everything so fast it doesn't matter that they do twice as much damage because you stomp all over them.

If you want an achievement that's an actual measure of competence then pick something like "True Conquerer" (Beat Daimon's true form).

You need to select them properly.

Pawns need the correct inclinations and the correct skills (and lack of skills, unless you have a very well trained pawn for example, a ranger pawn should probably have.. tenfold.. and thats it. If its a sloppily trained pawn it shouldnt even be equipped with daggers at all)

Even the way the pawns interact with each other (through utilitarian) is important.

Pawns can be made to be awesome, but almost no pawn is built right.

Because of that mages are popular, because if a mage pawn buffs you then runs around being useless, at least it buffed you.

What that means is "when you press the middle mouse button, make the game think you've pressed F". If you're a ranger and you hold alt (secondary skills), the only way you have of loosing normal arrows is by pressing F. I imagine MA laso need to press F if they want to loose a normal arrow while having their secondary skills enabled.

As for borderless fullscreen, have you ran the game in 1080p windowed mode? If it's in fullscreen, it won't suddenly become borderless.

Question about stats. I know you all have said that minmaxing is not necessary. However is it still possible to really screw up a character?

This is my first time playthrough and I really want to max out each vocation to see what they are like without having to restart. Is it ok to do that with a character or will it severely hurt me in the end game?

Maxed sorc and mage already and lvl 40ish. Thinking of switching it up and going fighter or strider. Later I was wanting to try MA and MK. Not too keen on assassin , ranger, or warrior though.

You can always reset to the last time you rested at an inn. If you've done witchwood it should be doable though, just bring a lot of herbs and be careful. Doing the escorts when you don't know the map is probably the most exciting thing you can do in this game, but if you're simply too low it won't be fun for you. The bandits you fight on the way to Witchwood are about as hard as any enemy you have to fight on your way, but the packs are bigger.

For the Quina thing, it kinda makes sense; your affliction is solved, she could personally view herself as not yet ready, the abbey needs help from getting fucked up by the new monsters, etc.

Oh right, whoops, I'm dumb and didn't notice that. And yeah, I wasn't running it windowed. It gives me a weird black rectangle at the bottom. I think maybe because my native resolution is actually 1920x1200. But it's cool, just mainly wanted the key binds.

And yeah, I didn't even know you could press f to fire a regular arrow. I love how the game tells me this. I was using a workaround method to fire them which is a little wonky. I was stuck at the dragon fight because it had never told me that F also fires ballistae shots.

I do, just because theres only one good female voice (4) and my pawn already has it. My arisen capitalizes on the nice combat sounds of voice 6 with out the annoying actual talking of voice 6, that means theres only room for male pawns, ideally.

Actually i like voice 3 as well, but you would need a very very specific kind of look for your pawn to make it not awkward.
