Before seeing if rx-e-10.4 works fine I have to EXTRACT my current rx-e-10.3 emunand with https://gbatemp.net/threads/emunand-tool-release-and-support-thread.359239/ and then update through system settings.

Okay, so I just got access to CTRBootManager and the guide is telling me to go into emuNAND(Hold L on boot, release L and press rxTools). Problem is if I hold L and release it I either get taken to CTRBootManager or the system just boots normally, and I can't find rxTools on either. I know the guide is supposed to be retard proof but could anyone clarify what I'm missing?

The only reason MCH2 works on CFW is the firmware.bin file most CFWs use: This file is the 3DS's NATIVE_FIRM/kernel, which CFW patches to load to avoid incompatibility issues with changed offsets.
O3DS firmware.bin files are 9.2/9.6 as a general rule, whereas N3DS 10.4-compatible firmware.bins are 10.2, which would obviously still have the unpatched kernel exploit.

I tried to boot up Emunand but my 3DS hung on a black screen for 5 minutes, so I decided to power off.
Then the RXTools page didn't work, so I checked my 3DS.

So, question. I just got a Wii U refurbished from Nintendo. I'm not sure what firmware version it's on, but it's likely <5.5.1 because it shipped before 5.5.1 did. I'm honestly afraid to plug it in or turn it on for fear that it might update to 5.5.1 as a result.

I updated one of my O3DS to see if I could downgrade in 10.4, My N3DS the one that I mainly use had the DNS thing to block updates, but so I could still go online. They streetpassed and it tried to update the emunand that I had. Be careful, do not allow updated 10.4s to streetpass with you, I guess it passes the update to you even if you are using the the DNS blocker.

I followed the Retard's Guide, and I got all the way through it. I unlinked my NANDs and everything and it was working fine. When it came to try and install a CIA, when I try to launch the homebrew menu through the boot screen it just gives me a black top screen and red bottom screen. I've tried changing themes on both emuNand and the other one and I can't find a fix.

Anyone else have a problem like this or know a fix?

Finally finished unlinking and now have separate emunand and sysnand and menuhax works again. Luckily downgrade worked first try. Only took me three hours! There is still hope for the 10.3!
