>KOJIMA'S THOUGHTS ABOUT THE NOVELIZATION
Are there any other games similar to MGSV but with offline character creation?
3rd Person stealth/shooter with more emphasis on stealth than shooter?
I liked SOCOM 1&2 back in the day, the first and third Tenchu games, and Manhunt 1&2.
I'm really liking the offline gameplay on MGSV but don't care about the story or the main characters, and my internet is made of potatoes so I'm not even thinking of MGSO.
Who wanna boost real quick?
You know the drill
>10 Minute Run
>2/2 is fine but I'll make it higher
imagine boosting instead of just playing the vidya game
>rewards continue past the loading screen
they don't even give us updated counts urging us on anymore
they've given up on us
Okay so wait.
You only get 10 GP per match, regardless of time spent or the outcome?
Does anybody just set up 1-ticket bounty hunter missions and just fucking blast through these to rack up GP for costumes and shit?
>You only get 10 GP per match, regardless of time spent or the outcome?
That's for custom games. 50 for loss, 100 for win in automatch, thus keeping them filled.
In customs, it's 10 for loss and 20 for win.
>making a black character
I really fucking wanted to but there's no voice that fits, fuck.
Looks good though, not too ridiculously over the top at all.
Yep. I'm on a ps3 that only outputs through the HDMI (idkwtf, bought used) so no screenies for me. Pouncing Harrier is my main, and that's the closest I can get to a good pic of her in Sneaking Suit (TB) without spending $300+ on an HDMI capture device.
Already met my first hacker. He was firing a shotgun like a machinegun. It was a hilarious wall of nonstop pellets BRRRRTTT. When he killed me, it showed that he didn't have anything equipped at all. Also, I saw a guy with 10 whole VAC bans with the last one only 9 days ago. What does it take to get banned from steam, damn.
Being retarded. I got a VAC for using a minimap third party app in Rust.
Even if MGO gets VAC don't think it'll do shit since MGO is P2P. Hackers will become ever more prevalent and then the game will die.
Oh? Any suggestions?
I think there's one voice that definitely fits a black character, it's what my Scout has. It's the voice that says "Nice 'n easy.../Give 'em hell!" for your good luck codec.
Yeah my scout's look was inspired by Glaz. The enforcer's face is based on my MGO2 character but the outfit is something I came up with just experimenting. Palitz a shit, Eye is where it's at.
>Cloak and Dagger
So was Kaz in on it the whole time? The conversation post-credits seems to imply he only found out until later. Ocelot hypnotized himself to recognize Venom as as the real Big Boss, so it wouldn't make sense for that conversation to happen so soon.
Kaz must've seen the shrapnel in Medic's face and that Big Boss didn't have any. Maybe I missed something in the Truth tapes?
I think Kaz was more or less mad that Big Boss didn't tell him about the plan personally and just kind of fucked off after he escaped from the hospital. Kaz is just butt hurt that BB left him after all they been through.
do you think kaz ever gets jealous of ocelot's svelte figure and takes it out on him in the mess hall
>decide to roll infiltrator to be all sneaky
>every weapon and skill I get is a shotgun or cqc based thing
>cqc is hard to impossible because BR's will phase out of grips to knock you out, or if you knock someone down you can't grab them because they'll kill you seconds after
>enemies mid fultonpunch grab and slit my throat
>shotguns are worthless at every range
>when I try to spot people I spot so slow enemies move behind cover
>die in 3bullets and move slow as fuck while cloaked
So this game is encouraging people to roll Enforcer, right? Infiltrator is fun when the game works but a class entirely based on how bad the enemy teams connections are is not a good class.
I'm thinking about doing the same, their forums seem somewhat dead though so I'm hoping that's not an indicator of how small the player base is, since it sounds really promising.
In Cloak and Dagger can people see the dust you kick up when crawling and rolling when you're the attacker?
Enforcer sucks until you get it leveled up.
Scout is pretty easy forever because you start with a damn good rifle.
But yeah, Infiltrator would be just fine if not for all the horrible lag. Then again the shooty guns all get the same treatment. I've loaded niggers up with full magazines and they just disappear and appear to my side and shoot me twice.
Dedicated servers when?
Yep. He'd try and trip him with his crutch, but that cat always lands on his feet.
Ocelot would tease him by giving him his pudding, remarking that "Nothing ever goes to waste when Miller's around."
Kaz would feel humiliated and want to be mad, but he'd also REALLY want the pudding, and settle for shut telling him to fuck himself between bites.
>Kaz is just butt hurt
Fuck him with a ZORN-KP.
He knew the entire time in PW that Paz was a spy. He kept it to himself because keeping Big Boss from dealing with her meant more money for his "new kind of business". Even after that business was fully built, he kept it to himself when Zadornov kept escaping and you *knew* that he had to have inside help. The fact that Paz was able to hijack ZEKE, the fact that Paz was able to escape afterward, the fact that Cypher was able to pick her up and use her as bait, the fact that Mother Base fell, ALL of this was Kaz's fault.
He has no right to be mad at Big Boss for keeping anything from him, he's lucky Big Boss didn't CQC his head backward in the PW ending for that bullshit.
this p2p networking is garbage as fuck, I'm over it
what's the next decent third person shooter? the division?
Kaz dindu nuffin. He a good boy. A growing boy.
Do you remember what mission you got her from?
It's kind of a side-hobby of mine to try and find every african woman in south africa (why are they all chinese?).
>is ok, deathmatch with a retarded ticket system
Miller knew about The Devil's House in PW. He's about as good as Colonel Campbell when it comes to telling you everything . His definition of "need to know" is "I didn't need for you to know".
She's actually just Pouncing Harrier with stats modified. I stole someone else's and didn't want to scrap her, since it's my favorite negress.
So I guess you could find her in White Mamba, if fortune favors you. I've found like 2 black women out of 50 or so runs.
The side ops seem a lot better for finding brown girls.
Is the only way to get these is to buy them?
Also where do I access the MGS:O beta? Do I have to go into the campaign?
>they were Skull Face's own project
No they weren't.
It was an old Philsophers project that Skull Face found out about and kept going after Zero exiled him to Africa for fucking Big Boss and MSF.
>I've found like 2 black women out of 50 or so runs.
I have 3, and one blonde. A bunch of tan girls that could be persian, indian, or hispanic, and about 3/4 of my females are arr rook same asians. Funny, because I get a pretty even mix of men but the women seem skewed hard toward asians.
Yep, There'a a pack that's got both of them, the Naked Snake sneaking suit, and the Tuxedo. I wouldn't have bought them if I could unzip any of the regular camo uniforms, but I guess that's why you can't.....
Go you for earning it and not just looking it up on youtube.
Best tip: on the date, depending on what phrases you say to him on the codec, he'll say things in Japanese, and it's the cutest shit.
It's literally impossible on PC. You just can't do it with cheating being a thing.
On consoles, it might as well be impossible. Even on Xbone, a lot of nukes are stuck in the hands of people at extremely low FOB ranks. So you have to intentionally sabotage your own rank just to steal one, and stealing one will put you into a bracket where you can't get those low rank ones.
Yeah but Skull Face was exiled to Africa and he resurrected the project with Code Talker the year after the PW phone call was made. I don't see how Miller would talk about that with Zero. Zero didn't even care about the parasites.
>Both teams fighting to the death in the hallway of death
>What would Snake do
>I sneak towards the left side railing to enter from the side
>Bukkake'd by Molotovs
Just fuck my shit up
>Fultoning a player with 37 bounty
>looking through which character to play as on a side op for achievement
>one of my soldiers is a troublemaker (harassment)
>Causes trouble within unit, giving staff PTSD
>giving staff PTSD
I keep replaying extra missions instead of progressing just to hear how happy he gets on completion
I'm only five missions in because fuck chico, that's not why I bought this game
if I can get close
and I somehow got the Orca codename
>Used throwing weapons (hand grenades, grenade launchers, Petrol Bombs) to neutralize most enemies.
I guess under mounted grenade launchers count
Timing. She's using a bolt action, so hunker down somewhere, pop your head out for a split second and hide again to bait out her shot. After she shoots, pop out again, but this time to shoot the bitch. Gotta do it quick though.
I like to think they mean that they trigger PTSD episodes.
Most of your soldiers probably already suffer from PTSD in some form, and the harassment probably means some pretty sick pranks. Triggering an episode that leads to harm of others or themself.
>It was just a prank bro!
You're right. I never thought about it until now but the game really should have had a date with her.
The location of those Black Carrots are impossible to get to.
It's, so far, the only thing in the game that either was put there by mistake or is missing a crack in the wall to reach.
I tested it out to see if there was a way down form there but no, it's just poorly placed Black Carrot that are unreachable.
Who wants to BOOST? Don't let consolefags make you feel bad.
I saw a video of an interesting method.
Start with a sleep gas bombardment
Mark Quiet when she moves
Drop a crate
Quickly call in a Rain strike (she will be dancing in the rain and get hit by the crate)
Just finished MGSV and oh boy do I have questions:
Is Mantis' origins or backstory (or even how he became involved with all of this in the first place) ever explained?
The Man on Fire was actually Volgin... who never died in MGS3, but was reanimated? And if it really is Volgin... his physique can withstand the integrated bullets... and is fire resistant? What's with the glowy eyes? Was this a hallucination by Venom?
When Quiet called Pequad to Venom's position, she hesitated, but finally spoke English. Doesn't this mean the parasite was transmitted to Venom?
Did Kaz not recognize Venom with shrapnel in his head while the three of them were with the medics and then again once he was rescued by Venom?
When exactly did Kaz go blind? Was he blind since before the game started (lost vision in the attack on Mother Base GZ)? He operates throughout the game as if he isn't blind at all.
Is there a reason why in the hospital scene at the prologue the doctor shows you Big Boss' face first and then has you input what you'd like to become instead, yet, at the ending "Truth", it flips this order? I know it was done as a plot device, but it literally just presented an erroneous order at first and then flipped it at the epilogue, while playing as the same character/person in both situations (Venom).
Did Venom know he was acting as a decoy for Big Boss or was he thoroughly convinced from the moment he came to all through to the end when he plays the "Man Who Sold the World" cassette?
Does Venom go on to become the "evil" Big Boss by doing things his own way, or is it part of an orchestrated plan.
Also, the tape he flipped over read "Operation Intrude...". I know that relates to MG1 but what is the significance of this tape?
Why did it keep showing glimpses of Venom with bloodsoaked face and a prominent, grown shrapnel horn? I know this was to signify a demon-like appearance... but he never really showed this physical face... was it a hallucination?
You think Kaz is blind so you dont deserve any answers.
Paz IS really dead, right? She blew up. She shows up in the medical room, while Ocelot and Kaz are in the room. Is this explained? A hallucination?
And is Skullface ever really expanded upon as a villain, other than through the car ride conversation he has with Venom?
Zero never shows up in this game, correct? I feel as if I missed an appearance or tape with him speaking on it or something
For reference the INSTALL times for MGS4 were
Act 2: 3 minutes
Act 3 : 3 minutes
Act 4: 2 minutes
Act 5: 1 minute
Maybe if you actually played the fucking game and used your head a bit, you might understand a bit more.
get a better HDD
the game never took this long for me
Mantis is explained in the tapes, Volgin is kept "alive" by his lust for revenge/lolmantis, Quiet was never treated for parasites while Snake was (I believe), that's a plothole, Kaz isn't blind, no idea, he never knew, up to interpretation, just a link to the events of MG1, Venom's self-perception.
>tfw 4chan subs out your selected image with one you don't even have on your drive
Why did you do this, it was a good one
It's meant to emulate a phantom pain.
>man on fire
volgin is a vegitable, but mantis could feel his lust for revenge and was just moving his body around like a ragdoll, just like he did with Sally
it means at that very moment takes place in mg1
I would accept a blowjob from the Boss and her amazing cheekbone genetics.
volgin is a vegitable, but mantis could feel his lust for revenge and was just moving his body around like a ragdoll, just like he did with Sally
As retarded as this sounds, the existence and weaponization of vengeful souls is some good continuity with The Sorrow. Makes Mantis' new powers seem a little less ridiculous.
>MGO3 soft-crashes after literally EVERY SINGLE match for me and I have to actually Alt-F4 to get out of the post-game loading screen
>Even with startup mode set to MGO instead of TPP, it STILL loads the TPP exe and makes me click OK before it exits back out and then opens the MGO launcher.
I think so, yes. I tend to move very slowly in C&D cuz I'm paranoid about stuff like that too. However, a little paranoia is healthy since being a sneaky Snek is pretty much my speciality in this game, I can't really shoot for shit so I have to be
>have snake be playable in MGO3
>don't have SNE mode
Literally how is it possible to fuck up this much?
It does work, surprisingly.
The cardboard box, the stealth movement, the minimap detection only sounds.
It's fantastic and enemies can be just as dumb as AI, if not dumber.
You want The Sorrow to fuck you? Me too!
I thought not having random boxes around would ruin the use of the box, boy, I was wrong. There are places where you can just sit in your box and people will run right by you, then you can pop out and shoot then or what will you.
Conversely you could just leave a box in the open as a distraction but I've yet to find a good use for this yet.
Empty magazines are pretty underrated too. Last man standing as sneaking team and I was tossing them at a building in Gray Rampart, while I was way on the other side of the ..river? Ravine? that splits the map.
Anyway, I had at least a couple enemy players running around where I was throwing them, shooting at grass and shit trying to find me, while I left them and headed for a disc. Stealth is alive in this game, if you know where to look. Also, I'm really starting to like the empty magazine.
There is a camo percentage but there is no index, the math behind it is pretty simple and most of it is common sense, anyways. ou really don't need an abstract number telling you what you already know, laying on your stomach conceals you better than sprinting.
Not really, in single player laying flat in the middle of a helipad or concrete slab might have a high camo percentage, but any real player would immediately spot you. If you're trying to be concealed just try not to move so much in the open. stick low to the ground or in cluttered environments. Don't be afraid to use the cardboard box in industrial areas where boxes or crates might be common. But camo index is essentially meaningless when dealing with real people, as people aren't computer programs, obviously.
>trying to use cheat engine to boost EXP to max
>friend unlocks all their shit and levels up after the game
>excited as fuck that it worked
>he leaves to check out the shit
>it all resets
Does this mean it's server-sided? Really? Konami has a server set up for saving character information and checking it constantly, which is significantly more intensive than just having a dedicated player server. This just baffles me. Why?
>the game won't make you more invisible than you already are
But that's what happens in SNE.
It'd be a pretty shitty game mode for Snake otherwise.
Sneaking Mission, or SNE, is a game mode where there are two teams competing with each other to get Snake, who is a player on his own but with Snake's single player abilities.
It's basically a 3 sided battle with one of the sides being Snake.
That's why you need a camo index that renders you invisible or something else to give Snake a sneaking advantage.
Derp, misread. But you should try again and wait until the next round loads and starts to count down to see if it saves. The whole round saving thing is buggy as fuck.
We ended the round by having him kill me. I set his and my score to 1,000,000 each and he said he got a bunch of pop ups for levels up to 37 and it said post-game he unlocked a ton of shit.
After the match was done and we were in the post-game lobby he left to check on shit and none of the progress saved.
If you want to try further you can, all I did was host the server and change the scores using cheat engine, 4byte scan. Interestingly enough my scores themselves didn't save at round end, but his did. I tried doing it when I wasn't the host and they changed but immediately reverted, while when I was host they remained until round end and in his case after the round ended.
If you want to experiment with it more you can, we're trying really simple shit because I'm not very good at hacking; can't even make trainers.
>earphones in peoples throats
>skullface and his lever action
>man on fire
I hate how all the pseudosciencey shit goes unexplained in V.
Just like, "yep, wormholes exist".
In MGS1 and 2 you'd have a codec call or something after some crazy shit happened explaining it. Like Mantis' abilities, or the reveal about Fortune's inability to get shot at the end of MGS2.
>walk out of a bar late at night drunk as fuck
>this phantom offers to show you his demon
How come someone just fucking walks up to my team in a cardboard box and manages to incapacitate half my team while the rest of their team rapes us
im not even talking about a crouched box, im talking about a guy standing and running in a box, he never dies or even gets shot at.
we haven't won a single bounty hunter match today because this fucking guy walks up to us and somehow we end up in a fulton
Lots of people snuck around in TDM and everybody competent snuck around in RES, quit spouting horseshit.
Sneaking in MGO2 was more viable than MGO3 in part because the spawn system cultivated some sense of synergy, organization, and coherence within matches which allowed for greater situational awareness and rewarded deliberate, cautious progression through maps. It wasn't a giant clusterfuck of people spawning everywhere and anywhere.
Base, CAP, RACE, DM were generally clusterfucks but any mode that's about pushing objectives is going to be that way and DM was pretty much meant to be.
>Sneaking in MGO2 was more viable than MGO3 in part because the spawn system cultivated some sense of synergy, organization, and coherence within matches which allowed for greater situational awareness and rewarded deliberate, cautious progression through maps.
The maps also had better design.
Yeah, they actually had defined bases, where in MGO3 even the "HQ" spawn is out in the open and can be flooded by enemies.
In MGO2 trying to stay inside the enemy spawn would get you rekt pretty fast.
>tfw no Groznyj Grad in MGO3
>no heavy snow in it
>no catching colds if you wear a bikini making you sneeze and turning off your stealth camo
Cloak and Dagger. Stand by the disc, pick it up and drop it, pick it back up when it resets. Take turns interrogating each other. Be damn careful not to knock your boosting partner out
>Lots of people snuck around in TDM
Erm, I don't think this is true, or at the very least not any more frequently than they do in MGO3. It was harder to kill people in MGO2 and as a result of which people tended to jog around and box swap in open areas more frequently in groups and just use numbers and headshot skill + boxswapping skill to win TDM. At least on PC it's difficult to say "people sneak more" and such because it's way too early to determine what player playstyles are going to be like, but everything about the design seems to emphasize that sneaking would be promoted more in MGO3 especially with Fultoning being such an important element that can decide matches in the blink of an eye.
>and everybody competent snuck around in RES
This is true, it's complete bullshit that there's no Rescue and I'm crossing my fingers they'll add it eventually.
I would agree with this on Black Site specifically which is a very bad map with very bad spawns, but on other maps I don't think that's the case. There were maps in MGO2 which tended to be an instant clusterfuck as well in TDM like Urban whatever it's called, where people walked like 5 steps before they could get into some kind of engagement. The rest of what you said is just kind of statements without any substance in my opinion.
I'm not making excuses for MGO3 or anything. I really do enjoy MGO3 a lot and I actually do really like a lot of the changes and additions that have been made, but there's definitely also a lot of things that're worse or just straight up missing for no reason. I was a fairly prominent player with a few berets in MGO2.
I don't think stealth deathmatch would work as well with how the stealth camo works in this game, but yeah, SDM was the shit. Really liked it on the Shadow Moses map, the one with the snowstorms and shit.
>it's way too early to determine what player playstyles are going to be like
>he doesn't realise MGO is already dead
I miss SNE the most. Playing as Snake was one of the modes guaranteed to get the heart pounding.
I had a guy getting pissed at me in text chat because I was playing music (Snake got to pick the song everybody heard, to anyone who never played) and he was upset he couldn't tryhard with music off and listen for me. Lotsa good memories with that game. I was never great because I joined MGO2 nearing the end of it's life, the last year or so, but I had my moments.
I thought the same thing when I played. However my download region got fucked by the steam christmas cache glitch and after I set it to NA I am finding plenty of matches just fine.
>the event can be repeated by fulfilling all four conditions again
MGO2 was P2P except for Survival and Tournament which was once a week, so I mean you probably should have been prepared for this.
>hackers already running rampant,
Well I'm sorry if you've had to deal with this but I haven't seen any hackers. I'd be interested in a Youtube video or something showing this so I at least know what to look for or expect.
>lack of content
>cod gameplay (and cod does the "sprint around killing shit"
"Sprinting around" to kill shit is a pretty bad idea considering it makes you show up on the minimap. How much have you played exactly?
Do you really care about MGO at all? What were you expecting?
Nobody actually wanted to be Snake even though it was fun as hell.
I can't even tell you how many SNE rooms I was in that got ruined because the person who got chosen as Snake quit.
Also, little known fact, if you won a round of SNE as Snake with no deaths, you got to be Snake again.
I think I got to be Snake 5 times in a row once but I quit the room after that because it felt unfair to everyone else that I kept being Snake.
>never again will you be a sneaky Snek, laying in a dark corner and whistling a little tune to lure in curious fools to steal their dog tags
>Nobody actually wanted to be Snake
Eh? Not in my experience, yeah sometimes a guy would quit, but I found most people stayed. Who didn't want to be Snake? He had tons of skills and abilities that made him fun as hell to play.
Yeah I fucking loved being Snake over and over. Especially when you had a bro-tier Otacon player.
Maybe Konami will do something smart for once and release a standalone MGO2.
I mean, the game is already made, it would be literally zero work for them.
>MGO2 was P2P except for Survival and Tournament which was once a week
Actually, if I remember correctly, Tournaments were 2 a night for 2 nights a week.
And Survival was I think 3 hours long for 3 nights a week.
>hackers already running rampant
Haven't seen a hacker during my MGO experience so far myself.
>lack of content
I'll admit that having some more maps would be nice, more guns too
>cod gameplay (and cod does the "sprint around killing shit"
The ones that usually charge around are the ones who get killed
or Fulton Punchers
>What were you expecting?
Tactical gameplay like the old socom games
Some form of anti-cheat
If it had to be P2P, then at least test connections to find the best host instead of some faggot who is seeding his loli hentai torrents
People sneaking around instead of just sprinting around as enforcers with shields on their back LMGing everything
Base spawns instead of shitty cod spawns and buddy spawns which completely ruin sneaking when some cockhead spawns on the nigger you're about to stun
Any MGO2 players remember 'SWAT?' Now there was a "made up" game mode that was fun as shit when everybody played by the rules
'Prison' was fun too, but only if people played by the rules and nobody did in that mode.
SWAT was great.
Prison was retarded, and City lobbies were just fucking pathetic.
I spectated a City game once and people were just running around UU pretending their cardboard boxes were cars.
Are you sure?
The way I remember Tournaments being is that there were 4 going on at once but you could only join one of those 4 and then after they concluded there was another 4 afterwards.
And they were on Saturday and Sunday.
I'm not sure Survival was for 3 hours, it might've been 4 but I do know that it was 3 days a week.
After Tournaments were introduce and took place on the weekend, Survival took place on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
Before Tournaments were introduced we had Survival on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
I know I'm right about Survival, just maybe not the exact length of time it was up for each night.
I l-liked City. Didn't really RP or anything, but I liked it as a "Chill" room where I could just hang out with people and see all the outfits people wore and whatnot
SWAT was the only "game mode" where it was a viable strategy to play dead. Thought that was cool. Also shit could hit the fan in that mode really damn fast, like MGO3 fast desu
Why are there no big maps/gamemodes which incorporate vehicles? Cruising with friends in a jeep and then opening fire as you spot your enemies would be great fun. Or being gunner in a tank and participating in big tank battles.
Why is there no co-op gamemodes where your team has to accomplish objectives?
making love in the battlefield with your qt female friend in some hidden part of the map
>tfw no female buddy to salute an wormhole into
You found me. I'll make a room now. Password will be
I would but my friend is asleep now.
If I had a dummy account to work with on my laptop I'd just spend all night niggling at it until it worked.
I wouldn't want to waste anyone's time here since it would be slow and boring as fuck.
I'll just wait for my friend to get on again tomorrow and we'll try again for a few hours.
I'm also trying to figure out the variable which dictates the amount of GP given at the end of the round. If I can get changes to save after playing I might be able to get it to dispense any amount of GP you want.
It's all those little things...
>memorable scene of a panicked Paz telling everyone that she's wired with a bomb
>hold up guard
>plant c4 on his back
>retreat and wait on another guard to find him
>he doesn't mention the bomb
>Miller specifically says no using fulton on dead people
>fill jeep with dead bodies
>Miller says nothing
>find female hostage
>lay down on top of her and tap radio button
>no one freaks out
Also it will have 3 Serious Business
It's Metal Gear. Punching people in the mouth is going to be a thing.
You counter that by keeping your line of sight clean and having things that frustrate HURR charges, like Fulton Cannons, and Plushies and shit.
Also just generally having people keeping an eye out and marking people.
>Rain in the desert
>Quiet thinks its pretty
>Nobody else cares
>No flash floods or landslides
>Bats aren't found at night
>Birds are awake 24/7
like 75% of the animals are in capture cages and don't show up anywhere ever. They had snake models for a cutscene, though.
I feel like they wanted to include a ton more animals in the game but couldn't get around to it, and rewrote the capture cage to just snag animals in certain places as opposed to baiting and trapping real ones.
>TFW 900 MB coins.
Only 4 weeks until I get enough for a 4th fob.
MGSV has a theoretical 'invisible' camo index in singleplayer that applies to your camo, lighting, movement and the environment. The problem is the game doesn't tell you this whatsoever so you have to find out the hard way.
Multiplayer has nothing like this. You're either visible or just barely visible via stealth camo. So even with a Snake unique on a custom match, he has to stealth just like every other player character in plain visibility.
>she will never shoot you with that gun
They only give out like 15mb at a time, and only twice a week.
I guess you can theoretically, but with how most people are sprinting around just hiding around a corner often allows for the same effect. At best you may confuse a sniper if you play your cards right in their direct sight, but the real good snipers wouldn't mess up.
And i'm saying this as a Scout with the snakeskin camo on the concealment uniform, apparently it does good for desert maps but I never get the opportunity to hide..
There's the injury system, though. Too injured without dying immediately? You either have to break out the spray, or Snake has to tend to his wounds somehow. It's especially notable if you fall far enough to be severely injured without dying
and if you were to fire a rocket launcher while injured like that, apparently it can kill you outright
Is it possible to create an MGO character that doesn't have crows feet deeper than the grand fucking canyon
>She was originally in a nurse outfit, but SJWs made Konami censor itself
I've done a pretty good job sneaking around on the jungle map in tiger stripe camo on my scout more than once.
Even had Snake himself personally using sonar to hunt for me eventually. It was pretty awesome. Maybe run and gunning is ultimately better in this game, but I love experimenting with stealth and seeing how much I can get away with
The camo index isn't theoretical, it's an actual thing.
It's just not a number in the corner of your screen you pay more attention to than the setting and your actions anymore.
>you will never feel her slender hands wrap around your throat and slowly kill you
Have you ever strangled something before? It's a strange experience if you aren't blinded by anger. I did it once to stop a feral cat from attacking me.
I could feel its heart stopping.
There's a skin texture option somewhere in there. Drastically changes how people look
It's a shame they couldn't think of a more intuitive way to apply blood spatters to your custom character.
The way it gets on your hair is horrid, especially since no other character gets bloody hair.
Eh, the textures for the blood look like shit or jelly, but I can deal with it. I'm more unappreciative of how awkward the avatar looks since he's basically aping Venom's face without being Venom.
post faces because, let's be honest here, it's probably the biggest bit of customization mgo offers
When equipping gear in MGO does stuff like the plate carrier actually increase your defense or is it just fluff text?
fluff text. "Get your fancy hats on!"
I think they actually did want gear to modify defensive stats but decided against it, and then forgot to remove the text that says you're loud and bulky.
coloration has some limited effectiveness as camouflage when playing against people. Otherwise it's all purely cosmetic.
I hate that we really don't really get much explanation for her and all. She was just sent in as a pre-emptive means to kill Big Boss and any witnesses, only for them to kill every single last person in the building anyway. Did they see her fall out a window on fire? Or were they just planning to wipe the hospital off the map irregardless? And I don't even remember any tapes explaining much about her before the operation, just that she was an XOF member.
I bet Kaz went from big spoon to little spoon after the attack on motherbase
Anon, I'm trying to find nukes. Just today I invaded 2 platforms that had nukes (menu said so), killed everyone and started searching for nukes. I didn't find any, I don't even know where to look, but I checked every corner. Also some FOBs are just impossible, 4 platforms, 10 minutes, everything to the max, stealth takes too much time.
He died in the chopper crash.
Hey /mgg/, used to post here before release and now I'm back with some questions. For my MB teams, do I need to keep the cybernetics specialist and other specialists on once I have them assigned? I wanna drop them because they're so low ranking but I don't want to lose access to gear I've already made or something.
I want to play as black women and/or ogle them, but the male VAs got all the good spam lines like SHUTYERMOUTH. I kinda want to make a Solidus or Major Zero, as well.
I ascended my Enforcer and plan on keeping her, and I think the Scout is too cute to reset. If only we had 6 character slots, or none of this half-baked class bullshit.
I'm going to blame the Jews.
There was another bomb in his underage penis. Originally it was in Paz's vajay, but it got stuck in Chico after the rape sessions where he failed to ejaculate the bomb back into Paz.
to be fair like everyone else survived
yeah he was a prepubescent kid being held as a prisoner of war with bolts through his legs, but it was kind of s shock how quickly they brushed him aside
that shit was 9 years ago.
im sure they did when he was among the 300 soldiers that died
i think a couple of the other soldiers died, but it is funny how varied the injuries from a fucking helicopter crash were
kaz was pretty much ready to go fight again, venom and boss were fucked up hardcore and chico was beyond dead
The assault happens after she fails, not before. It all makes much more sense if you assume she's in a nurse uniform and was meant to just get in and out after killing BB. The XOF team would just be a back up option that screws collateral damage for the sake of getting the job done.
Before the game's release, I initially thought the burning funeral thing was an ode to Chico and Paz, but people said it was part of the ashes scene and they were right. But then it's been a decade since their deaths, the Diamond Dogs basically have idol girl posters of Paz all over the base, and Amanda and what was left of MSF probably long since paid their respects and moved on years ago upon receiving the news.
Kind of really fucking hate that all of the surviving cast from Peace Walker that have no roles in Phantom Pain get mentioned briefly in one tape and that's it.
You mean the scientist creating a nuclear-armed mobile tank with an AI designed by a colleague, who, when betrayed by his employer for his morals, immediately jumped ship to the pirate boss and his private military force and began designing another nuclear-armed mobile tank without much regard for anything while
laughing at said pirate boss for believing in santa
in hindsight Huey being so fucking willing to jump over to ZEKE makes a scary amount of sense even if he doesn't show his dickish intents about it
>kill all of MSF to make sure they don't bother him
>attempt to kill an entire hospital to get at one person
>kill all the soviets at OKB zero with the vocal parasite in order to make sure nobody's there to see the metal gear
>attempt to kill anyone who speaks the english language to stop imperialism
Pretty sure a tape mentions she's in contact with DD and still a friend and ally.
She just has actually things to do in her part of the world rather than dropping everything and coming to meet them.
>that faggot in MGO who never turns off his mic and you can hear all the background noise
>kill all of MSF
>attempt to kill an entire hospital
After sending in one woman to do the job quietly.
>kill all the soviets at OKB zero with the vocal parasite
He did it with the parasite, meaning zero friendly casualties and no collateral.
>attempt to kill anyone who speaks the english language to stop imperial
English speakers would stop speaking English through fear, not death. No collateral.
Do you know what collateral damage is?
>spam "Good luck!"
>hear it echo
>good luck good luckkkk gogogogo eeeeeee screscrescre
During a game I heard someone and their mom arguing, fess up, it was one of us wasn't it?
I have no idea how to turn off the hud
So if Quiet can't speak English why can't she:
>Speak Kikongo or Russian or one of the many other languages you have interpreters for
>Write messages (in any language)
>Learn sign language
She speaks some language to Code Talker, too, why can't they get an interpreter for that shit if that's all she knows?
The other day I was in C&D and this one guy had this weird echo to his mic as he wouldn't shut the fuck up, cursing every other sentence and complaining about the smallest things. Even if I muted him, other people's mics were picking him up just enough to still hear him.
He failed, but that obviously was not the intention
>He did it with the parasite, meaning zero friendly casualties and no collateral.
except the soviets were his ally to some extent, they were the ones who gave him the area he kept the metal gear project in
>English speakers would stop speaking English through fear, not death. No collateral.
yeah, except you have to realize that speaking english is lethal to fear speaking it first you moron
think about how long that one would take to figure out on a global scale
it would be comparable to the black plague, with no cure and no obvious solution for months
Because if she confessed to be Skullface's assassin, they'd kill her. And she can not communicate as much as she wants, because she's got good behavior. As for her speaking Navajo, Code Talker says during the 'Origins of the Name 'Code Talker'' tape that virtually no one outside the US speaks it.
For some obscene, retarded reason that has no logic whatsoever, she knows navajo (if i'm remembering right) but neither she nor Code Talker tell Snake or anyone else until AFTER she's 'died'. So it was impossible to set up anything for her to be able to speak to Peaquad when no one had any idea but Code Talker, forcing her to speak english because of a series of inconvenient drama circumstances just so that she would die.
Fuck this game's writing.
They have multiple platforms out in the middle of nowhere, plus futuristic tech like wormholes and the iDroid. I think they could pay a navajo interpreter enough to stay on with them
the helicopter didn't crash dipshit, the post-crash revelation is just
Can't be as bad a GTA:O was, where you'd have children "rapping" into the mic in an ugly monotone that made your skin crawl. Or they'd just throw around the word nigger and act like they're hard af because they play a gangbanger in a video game, and just act like general retards. Shit that community was toxic. In my experience not a lot of randoms actually talk on mic in this game
I ranted about this last year, but goddamn is it still stupid as fuck. Why give Naomi cancer and try to be so dramatic about it with this fucking instant-dying super cancer? It doesn't work that way. They could've written her to of been targeted by the new FOXDIE by the Patriots for her complacency in Ocelot's plans and it would've made a thousand times more sense, you wouldn't even have to alter the animation for the scenes - just some bits of dialogue. It would make sense for nanomachines to suppress FOXDIE, instead of this magic 'can hold back deathly cancer naomi has none of the signs of but not remove it'.
>Enter a game, people ask what's up.
>Oh..okay, you must not have a mic.
Oh but I do.
At that point, they couldn't do much to her because she was always in the brig, anyway, and she was operating with Snake in the field, so 1. she was a valuable operative and 2. Snake could refuse that she be punished.
Also, I think that the guy she attacked was the one who worked at Ndo ya Badiabulu, so she would have known he had the parasite, and was attacking him for a reason. Since she hadn't done so thus far, it could be concluded she had a reason to do so, and isolated him from the others.
I don't think it was as much an issue of paying one as it was to find one, since Code Talker already said that the language was dying out even among the Navajo. Furthermore, they didn't know she could speak Navajo, Code Talker hadn't mentioned that it was the only language immune to parasites until A Quiet Exit, and he was keeping it a secret for her.
Relatively good behavior most of the time. Snake was fine with it for the most part.
Except Big Boss was also in a coma for a while after the crash and needed resuscitation and stabilization like Medic did. He just woke up first and got briefed by Ocelot.
The crash happened. The scene you're pointing to only showed up in the trailers probably as a dream sequence, a mood setter exclusive for the trailers, or a plot point that never made it to the final game due to the game being rushed. And if that happened, it doesn't really count as being part of the plot since we have no inclination besides what you all make for it.
Is there any point to adding a scope to an LMG if I've already got a muzzlebreak and foregrip equipped? Does the accuracy boost reduce the spread overall or only when ADS? Is weapons+ tier 2 trash?
help pls i love minmaxing
the injuries check out as far as the explosion is concerned; big boss and the medic took the brunt of the blast, kaz didn't get hit at all and he is more or less perfectly fine. the only outlier is chico but it's not like the entire game is about being lied to about the past or anything.
it's not like kaz is literally not wearing his glasses in the "truth" ending or anything, or that the balaclava man is completely gone , like venom is remembering it wrong or something.
I mean the game literally calls it the truth, obviously it's a factual title.
