POST /SS/ AND FAVORITE COMPANION
Threadly reminder not to go to the wiki if you care about spoilers.
Warn your faggot friends.
4th for Vault Dweller being best protagonist
I like to corrupt Piper.
Power armor is my favorite companion.
But really, it's Danse.
Curie because she's cute, I like her voice and teasing her.
Shut up Maxson.
I'm sorry Sarah never gave you the time of the day but that's life.
The true contention is if synths are SENTIENT. That is what matters.
Yes they are. Gen 3 synths are completely "organic" -- many of them have no "synth component" whatsoever (what Doctor Amari calls a cybernetic implant). This, in particular, is clearly outlined in the game.
>they aren't organic
They weren't born human. They are not people. They are not conscious. But they are still composed of organic compounds and they have biological human bodies. The synth component of a synth is not organic, and is central to their being, thus they are not thinking beings. They are simply machines that inhabit an artificially grown, but biological, body.
It's kinda like if you took a freshly deceased corpse and put a robot brain in it. Is it alive? No. Is its body biologically human? Yes.
The synth component isn't an essential part, but instead an extra cybernetic implant, which Doctor Amari talks about during Curie's quest.
There's a reason why you can kill tons of gen 3 synths and many of them won't have the component in their inventory.
>The synth component of a synth is not organic, and is central to their being, thus they are not thinking beings.
Damn nigga I don't even know how you even reached that conclusion.
If something is capable of independent rational thinking and feelings, then we can safely assume it's a self-conscious being, whether he's made of flesh and bone or metal or massive cocks.
>a synth is capable of rational thought and emotions
You literally can't. You can't even prove that another human being can genuinely feel emotion and is a conscious being. Sure, the brain reacts to external stimuli and can form thoughts, but do I know that it is conscious in the way that I am?
It's impossible to know. What I do know is that synths are created in laboratories and human beings are born from other human beings.
Cant believe i took the bait
Its obvious synths are sapient. Why is this still being debated
>fighting a standard deathclaw at lvl 23
>a wild behemoth appears
>smashes the shit out of the deathclaw and proceeds to kill me
>i kill him
>his corpse disappears fro the map
I agree, and, even beyond digging deeper into it yourself, I think the game tries very hard to make this clear even on just your first walk-through of the Institute: the majority of the conversations you hear when you enter the different departments are about synths displaying truly human/sentient traits. The fact that you see relatively high level Institute scientists displaying doubts like that is a pretty fucking clear thing.
But then we have stuff like this >>128821737
and the others who go against it either because they rushed through, want to justify their faction choice without having paid attention to lore or just want to be edgy.
if they can consciously make the choice to leave the institute then actively attempt to avoid being "reacquired" for a logically sound reason i dont think their level of sentience matters
like if theyre not people who cares, if they can actively call you out on using them as slaves then yeah theyre pretty much slaves
i mean does the point at which your robot maids stage a fucking coup against do you not just realize "oh maybe we made them too realistic, its kind of a dick move to literally program them to desire freedom and then actively deny them of that freedom while treating them like simple machines despite knowing full well how complicated they are"
woooooooow 10/10 bethesda awesome game
That is, essentially, true. The only thing one person can know is that they exist. You can attempt to assure me that you exist, and I can believe you and take that on faith, but I can never actually "know" that.
The only essential difference between a synth and a human being is that synths are created and humans are born. It doesn't matter if I think they are people or not because I can never prove that ANYTHING is a person beyond myself.
However, it's useless to think along those lines, because if nobody is a person and nothing is real, then I would simply cease to act in a meaningless world. But that's fucking boring, so I choose to believe that reality is real and that people are thinking, conscious beings like me.
That's a large part of what I find so fucking funny about the Institute. They are either completely blind to what they are doing or ridiculously stupid since they create synths without proper methods of curtailing them. They have all this fancy shit and they can't rig up an implant to track all synths? Or to remotely mind wipe and/or shut them down? Come on.
Similarly to the BOS not being able to keep a single vertibird in the air for more than 1 minute, it makes me lose significant faith in their general competency.
Have you got nvr 3? If so do you have the recommended load order from the author? Also place Nevada skies as your last esm. I'm not sure if it helps but I always try to place Nevada skies as my last esp with the exceptions being compatability esps.
Piper is a poor man's Nora
Unreleased Nora DLC companion
getting too meta there bruh
synths act like humans and are capable of thought like humans, only difference being they're synthetic humans
maxson is just an edgy minihitler
Yeah, only if you accept some of the strictest forms of solipsism that almost all philosophers actually regard as ridiculous. Almost no one with actual knowledge about these kinds of things would really put this forth as an actual argument. Stop trying to be an edgelord.
So I made it to the place with the four
departments. I met the department leaders. That objective's completed.
Before I went off to meet them, though, I ran into a person who was glad to meet me. They said that they wanted me to be there for "exciting new shit that was going to start happening, shit that they're glad I'm there for," or something to that effect.
The next objective I've been given,
"Use the Network Scanner Holotape,"doesn't make any fucking sense to me.
Just go to a terminal and load the holotape? Why would I do that? Why can't I and why wouldn't I talk to the person who sent me to go meet the other people? But that person won't to me much right now.
Did I screw up, did I miss something, or is this just odd game design?
Yeah, I used the LOOT for my mod orders though. I had problems with nvr 3 before but later found out it was a mismatched merge version with FCO. Plus I don't think it's the missing mesh and textures as theres no big red ! stuff right at me when my char disappears, I do appreciate your help though, thanks.
It's to gather extra data that you would not necessarily stumble upon yourself since it is going through the computer systems. And with another faction it helps to set up a meeting with a spy. You just missed some of the dialogue and/or forgot it.
Did you ignore the entire last part of my post? I said that solipsism is useless because if nothing's real, then everything is boring and you just end up killing yourself.
Even if I can't prove that anything else is real, I can assume that it is because why wouldn't it be?
Anyway, my point is is that synths are essentially human beings in the sense that human beings are essentially human beings, and that making a distinction is irrelevant.
Fuck the outcasts.
He sounds like a religious idiot.
>you should not exist
I sided with the BoS because muh armor and muh brothers and sisters, but I don't like him in the slightest.
Doesn't deacon call you by your codename? What else would be the point of getting a codename?
Considering you used it as a proof for you conclusion you contradict yourself. That's the point.
It was also the college freshman version of "ho ho, see how I know this? Well, observe how smart I am for knowing it. Also, I reject it because it's lame even though I've said you can't really disprove it." I'm not even sure if you know what your own point is.
BoS.But I don't actually want to help them.
I really just wanted to talk to the people here to learn shit. But I guess I have to do that sneakily, because reasons.
>It's to gather extra data that you would not necessarily stumble upon yourself since it is going through the computer systems.
Thank you for that. I guess that'll have to be enough for me.
>You just missed some of the dialogue and/or forgot it.
No, I remembered. I just thought that Fallout would be more open-ended than that.
>paying attention to the lore
>ghoul kid in a fridge,
>literally not a single car, but vertibirds being fucking everywhere
>LE EBIN PATRIOD ROBOD
>jewel of the commonwealth
Literally a fucking shanty town with 20 people in it in the ruins of a stadium
>mfw i failed the speech and science checks
>mfw i looted her corpse and found a teddy bear on her
it genuinely just seems like some fetish-y power play bullshit at its root
like really, youre gonna tell me your desire is to make them as realistic as possible but you still having them mopping up floors and have your head researchers pulling "yes sir no sir right away sir" bullshit every goddamn day with them like its a thing to do
their thought process post war just seems to have went
>fuck man we need mexicans to clean up all this shit
>yeah but mexicos a crater where do we get mexicans if all the mexicans are dead
>I WANT THEM TO LOOK ME IN THE EYES WHILE THEY SPIT SHINE MY SHOES
like what an offensive waste of potential resources when their demonstrated cybernetics capabilities are a huge step toward functional immortality AND THEY FUCKING CANNED THE PROJECT FOR ROBO-HOUSE NIGGERS
fuck the writing is so goddamn stupid
The power of nature is a little weaker in a world that suffered three to four hours of sustained nuclear world war, the fallout from the nuclear war, possible salting, and drastic climate change ranging from a nuclear winter to perpetual summer.
That shit might fly in STALKER (unless you're a MISERY dev), but not Fallout.
I kind of get what you're saying, but that's pretty standard fare for what you would actually do in that kind of situation. When you finish the section it will probably make more sense to you. Besides, you're following orders and aren't the one in charge.
Yeah, that specific part about the cyborg stuff is what proved to me that the Institute doesn't really know what they're doing and is just going off in random directions. With all of that considered, "Humanity -- Redefined" as their motto is a joke in and of itself.
I finished it, btw. What should I draw next, senpai?[/spoliler]
Kid hides in a fridge thinking he's Indiana Jones, turns into a ghoul, survives for 200 years because he's a ghoul, and no one lets him out for obvious reasons.
For some reason I thought that ghouls didn't necessarily need to eat.
Can someone explain how the FUCK I'm supposed to max out my character? I've done literally everything I can possibly do and I'm only around level 80. I'm not even close to getting all the perks and maxing out my SPECIAL.
Oh, and pipeguns don't even fucking remotely look like an improvised weaponry build from every-day materials.
but you can build a village xDDDD
Bethesda is so bad with lore, they even fucked up a trailer song.
>I'm the kind of guy that would never settle down
all you do is building settlements.
It just works
fucking masterpiece from Toddlercon Howard
alright ill just give it a shot
it was so easy that it made the rest of the game mechanics pointless. no point in upgrading armor or weapons since you can 1 shot everything naked with a switchblade on survival.
>>I'm the kind of guy that would never settle down
>all you do is building settlements.
Here is why it makes absolutely no sense:
He would have starved
He would have died from dehydration
He probably would have suffocated
Even if he survived that shit, his body would be fucked by being stuck in a dark cramped space for 200 years
And even if he miraculously survived with his body intact, he would have been driven insane by that shit.
nobody seems to know what theyre doing
the railroad turns a majority of their robobitches against them and fucking storms the place, cleans house, fucks up everyone and they do what
THEY BLOW IT UP, MAD STAN STYLE
nobody looks around for a second and says "hey wait just a fucking second guys, this place is awesome, we dont even have to make robots anymore, lets just fucking live here"
but nah, fuck this clean water, fuck this food production, fuck this weapons technology, fuck these gorillas, blow it all up, we /brotherhood/ now since we blew those faggots up too like twenty minutes ago
Bethesda almost made power armor great again, but they had to give it to everyone and handicap it with fusion cores, even though original PA's were supposed to have a battery life of at least a century.
settle down as in settling down with a woman i.e. marriage/girlfriend. he would never date another woman since his was killed and she was the only one for him...are you that dense?
It's a reference to the fact that kids used to actually get stuck in 1950s-era-tech refrigerators with enough regularity for it to be a real fucking problem. Especially ones that had been disposed of, left at a dump or at the side of the road or whatever. Kids would just go missing and, if no one found them, they'd starve or suffocate in there, because their latching mechanism made them impossible to open from the inside.
Manufacturing standards for refrigerators legally had to change because of this. It was a whole big societal "thing."
Not just a hacky movie reference.
>a single core can power a fully-lit building for 200 years without failure
My point was that it's pointless to distinguish synths from regular human beings because to do so would require knowledge that is impossible to have.
But you're right. I wasn't really sure where I was going with that and kinda switch points halfway through my post.
Why does the Q button highlight stuff in the loading menu?
>released on Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on November 10th, 2015, except in Japan, where it was released on December 17, 2015, possibly due to the need to censor some footage and references to atomic war, while still keeping the plot intact.
>the need to censor some footage and references to atomic war
fucking nip cucks get shrekt hory shiet
ghouls can subsist on radiation supposedly
he still shouldve been found in a big fuckin pool of toxic shit though
and they shouldve made a point of your character asking "HOW CAN YOU EVEN FUCKING MOVE KID" to acknowledge that they realized when writing this just how long 200 years actually is because they still get that shit wrong at every fucking opportunity and its fucking disgusting
>censoring things that actually happened
Ulysses was buttmad, because he thought you were special and had a a huge hard-on for The Courier and hopeville, but you fucked it up doing an NCR errand
>Hurr durr, old world flag, on this ball hereED-E, and there's a lot of flagsthem in your city, go bring it
You blew a civilization up.
its probably removing all direct mentions of "dropping bombs"
you can still say something vague like "the world was cast into darkness" and still get the point across
japs dont play when it comes to war history, HONORABU SAMURAI wont acknowledge losses or even just times when they were the assholes
>japan generates 75% of the unforgiveable porn in the world
>they censor this
I personally went with a paler blue green.
Good point, though courier took the job from them.
Maybe Ulysses expected You to be smarter than NCR retards.
Still, everything in The Divide is powered by hatred and radiation.
>hate so strong you fight alongside your biggest enemy
>its probably removing all direct mentions of "dropping bombs"
>you can still say something vague like "the world was cast into darkness" and still get the point across
I don't think they go that far.
I forget where I heard this, I think from some other game's development
(Ace Combat 5 / Zero), but what they tend to do with references to the actual use of nuclear bombs in Japanese game localizations is to just pretend that any nuke is actually just a powerful albeit conventional explosive bomb.
So in Fallout they might rename the Mini-nukes to "Mini-bombs" or something, but I doubt they'd alter the in-game model. I know that they definitely rename the Fat Man launchers to something else. But it's all very generic.
Maybe they replace the mushroom clouds with more regularly-shaped explosions, too, but they already have those explosions in the game files.
any good let's plays of fallout 4? i'm just too drunk and sad to do it myself. i remember once upon a time /fog/ would stream modded new vegas. that was cool shit. before the dark times. before 4 was announced.
Go ahead and hate me, but I'm playing FO4 on PS4. I'm trying to do the dogmeat item dupe with the You're SPECIAL books so I can max my stats. Problem is, there's no way I can activate any of the SPECIAL book and bump up one of my stat points. What did I do wrong? What am I not doing? How badly did I fuck up in the process?
Is there any reason why this guy's textures look like ass?
Is it because of limitations for modders or is he just lazy/inexperienced?
And mass murder by atomic bombs was less terrible than the other option, conventional bombing followed by a land invasion.
Two cities destroyed instead of a whole country's people and infrastructure. We did it for them, really.
But I do get what you mean. Just taken by itself, nuclear war is a fucking horrible thing.
that's entirely fair, anon
>land invasion of mainland japan
my grandfather is rolling in his grave at the mention of it
I do agree. I'm just saying I'd rather my kids see a cartoon Afghan Girl getting her womb pulled out and fucked like an ona-hole than people getting blown away by atomic fire.
but anon, some of the most compelling art i have ever seen has been depictions of nuclear war. take for instance the films threads and when the wind blows. as matur adults capable of making our own decisions we should be able to watch those films uncensored... and as a parent it is your responsibility to limit your childrens exposure to them, not the governments.
>I'd rather my kids see a cartoon Afghan Girl getting her womb pulled out and fucked like an ona-hole than people getting blown away by atomic fire.
You had me at first, but now you're starting to lose me.
I still have 2 more things before DICKS.
Oh look, some faggot is trying to force everyone to put captchas on their polls.
You are the reason we can't have nice things you piece of shit.
Didn't it mention in Akira that the detonation that destroyed the original Tokyo started a nuclear war?
Addendum: Sometimes when I pick up a dropped SPECIAL book, it lets me increase one of my SPECIAL scores by one, but it does not consume the book. It rarely does this, though, and there seems to be no reason why it happens. Repeatedly dropping the cloned books and picking them up does nothing. Can anyone please help me with this? I have been unable to find any other information on anyone who has experienced this particular glitch.
never realized how cool nick looked in power armor
>finally reach paladin brandis
>starts going crazy about how the brotherhood will never come back
>step outside and take less than 10 steps
Unless it was positively shitting some badass radiation, very little. Well, it might give you an incredibly minorly greater chance of getting cancer in the future, but that's it.
Yeah, when I ported it, it got some weird long neck with a gap. I had to fix that with a dog collar and textured it.
It depends on what the contents are, the half life of the contents, how long the contents have been there, etc.
I can sure as hell tell you that it's not a good thing to do anyways.
Look into the Goiânia Accident. Some dumbass Brazilian screapper essentially took a Colbat 90 container, broke it open, and showed the contents to his family and every neighbor in his favela.
Bombshell is the biggest bbw thing I have a picture of.
pic related, my bedroom at red rocket
I'm sure the CIT ruins were right here.
He just added lightning hair.
>install the new patch
>game runs worse
GOD FUCKING DAMN IT TODD
I don't have anything saved, but look up Hisashi Ouchi, he ended up too close to a radiation accident involving uranium reaching critical mass and spontaneously fissioning.
You can find the IAEA reports on the Goiana accident and some others if you poke around enough, it's pretty interesting.
Yeah, his chromosomes were so obliterated that a geneticist who had something like 10+ years of experience counting/sequencing peoples' chromosomes couldn't find a single recognizable piece of any one of his.
Does anyone have that video where the guy explains why new vegas's questlines are better than fallout 3's? It uses some word that ends in "ification" or something.
Does anyone know this video?
That shit looked PAINFUL. Lying on that bed with his skin rubbing the bed would've been unbearable for him. Why the fuck did they even bother keeping him alive, there's no reason to at that point the guy was a fucking red skeleton.
What happened to him anyway?
Have you even been like "Wow I'm sick to my stomach but I want to know more about this"?
Yeah that's how I feel.
After 50 or so days alive in basically that state, he went into heart failure and was declared more or less brain dead. They then kept him alive for a further 30 or so days before fluid loss from lack of skin/external tissue finally killed him. His doctors were very determined to keep him alive, almost to the point where it was some weird pride/honour thing for them, I suppose.
Yes, he was in agony for most of those ~80 days.
>imagine being a ghoul
>imagining living well beyond what your lifespan should be
i realize bethesda doesn't deal with real life shit like depression, etc. but i bet many a ghoul blew there fucking brains out
>an epidemic of ghoul suicides
Firstly, apparently Japanese medical culture tends to prioritize the extension of life over everything else, even if the patient is clearly suffering.
Secondly, it will be a long, long time before anyone has the chance to observe the effects of radiation poisoning this severe on a person in a modern medical environment again. I'm sure there were some influential people behind the scenes telling the doctors that things would go very, very poorly for them if they do anything less than their best to prolong Ouchi's life (while taking very detailed notes of his development, of course).
I also remember reading records from the doctors and relief workers in Hiroshima and Nagasaki reporting that some of the worse cases
had their skin just slide off thanks to the radiation burns.
I wonder what his dick looked like. Would he be able to get an erection?
In addition to what's already been posted on the subject, there are also accounts of similar things happening to the first responders at Chernobyl. Pretty gut-wrenching to read about.
Well then. My pleasant evening has now been ruined.
Though I guess the little descriptions that pop up in the original Fallout if you're really fucking irradiated are pretty accurate then.
It probably fucking just fell off since it's just skin and muscle
I went on a Chernobyl research spree a couple years back and yeah it was a hell of a trip to read about the fist hand experiences.
No, I'm pretty sure that fell off quite early, when the rest of his skin and soft tissue fell off. His blood vessels were quite literally leaking fluid anyways, so even if it hadn't fallen off, somehow I don't think he'd be getting any sort of physical arousal going.
Whenever I dream its just random shit.
Like I'm in a old western saloon, then Chewbacca in a sherrif outfit complete with cowboy hat walks in and yells "RAGGHHHHHHHHHH" and starts throwing guys around and starting a brawl.
I woke up simply saying "What"
>tfw I think it's the right thing to do
I just wanna know what happens, at any cost. I have to know! I'm a fucking villain.
>first time saw the image posted didn't really fuck with me that much, nasty but not gonna be visibly disturbed nasty
>then an anon posted quotes of the guy and now it disturbs me
Fucking raddleds me to the core thinking someone would let a man become a fucking fleshy melting skeleton that cries for death and his mother, fucking ain't right at all.
>some faggoty post went viral on tumblr about how the responses to one of the minutemen radiant quests is yes/yes/more yes
>people who have never played the game clamoring to insult it
This game is getting shit flung at it but fact is it cost most people $50-60 for 100-200 hours of playtime on average. last game i paid 50$ for was 6 hours long.
Yeah Chernobyl, the background to the event, and the aftermath has always been an interesting subject to me.
It might also be because I play a lot of STALKER, or that might the effect of my interest in the event.
Neither of those things will do that much damage to you, unless you quite literally placed your entire body inside the microwave, and by that point, you might as well just climb into your average oven.
There really is absolutely nothing to worry about, anon, especially if you aren't working in the nuclear industry.
there's still enough functional nuclear weapons to destroy the world
Did you know that not a single Christian died at Chernobyl?
Reminder that studies that showed a positive harmful effect from cell phone radiation arent published to inflate research statistics so the cellular jew can say that the majoirty of research agrees with them
the guy is a literal feral ghoul
in all seriousness, this guy probably suffered the worst fate imaginable. i can't think of a more drawn-out, agonizing way to die. 83 fucking days of that? must've felt like 83 years.
>The radiation produced by a microwave oven is non-ionizing. It therefore does not have the cancer risks associated with ionizing radiation such as X-rays and high-energy particles. Long-term rodent studies to assess cancer risk have so far failed to identify any carcinogenicity from 2.45 GHz microwave radiation even with chronic exposure levels (i.e. large fraction of life span) far larger than humans are likely to encounter from any leaking ovens. However, with the oven door open, the radiation may cause damage by heating. Every microwave oven sold has a protective interlock so that it cannot be run when the door is open or improperly latched.
I played some STALKER, I found I couldn't get very into it after it began to be more about (from what I remember) psychic energy and some other more science-fiction stuff. I don't have anything against it, it's a great game, but I guess I went into it expecting it to veer more towards the Chernobyl aspect of its setting (or the Roadside Picnic aspect of it) but they took it in its own direction (which is perfectly fine).
Either way, I'm still loving the subject more than ten years after I found out about it.
Modern microwaves don't do shit.
It's that old radioactive quackery from the early 1900s to the late 60s that did. Like the X-Ray for your feet so you could get the best fit but caused cancer instead, or radium "invigorated" water that was supposed to provide health benefits that instead rotted a guy's jaw off.
This shit. This shit is what keeps me up at night.
I haven't been afraid of nuclear war since I was 10 or so. I just hope that if it happens, I'm near the epicenter and get turned into a carbon ash stain.
The 30 or so days of him being relatively brain dead near the end was a blessing, when you think about it.
I laughed too, anon.
That water sounds like fucking Nuka-Cola. I wonder if that's were they got the idea when they made the first Fallout.
I mean, I know they were going with the whole "nuclear craze" thing of the 50s. But I wonder if Nuka-Cola was inspired by something real.
i'm sure they gave him drugs to make his contribution to science easier
and yes, that nigger is a fucking ghoul
thinking about moving to around the nyc area myself
>it will be a long, long time before anyone has the chance to observe the effects of radiation poisoning this severe on a person in a modern medical environment again.
>tfw I think it's the right thing to do
>I just wanna know what happens, at any cost.
Literally everything that we know about how human bodies react to hypothermia comes from Nazi experiments at one concentration camp. That might be the case with a few other smaller areas of medicine, too.
Apparently, this bugs some doctors. Wanting to care for people with information that they know came from people doing exactly not that.
>playing through the game for the first time
>Preston says to help Sunshine Co-op
>think it's an actual co-op place to play with friends or something
>it's just another settlement
I'll admit I was mad.
But don't you know that the microwave mutate the DNA of the food, thus reducing its nutritional value?!?!?!
Did finding out it used to be run by a bunch of "free-the-robots" hippies ease the burn?
Is there anyway to destroy the minutemen? I built my cool little personal base at red rocket and could not give a fuck about the rest. Sanctuary is my purified water and adhesive farm.
Faggot Preston keeps sending to save other shit farms.
If I recall correctly, they did all they could in terms of giving him drugs, but his body lost fluid so quickly that I'm not sure if they had much of an effect.
"Looks like Hisashi... got an Ouchi"
It was probably inspired by what the above anon was talking about, Radithor water, which contained a lot of Radium, which tends to collect in the bones of the jaw (your body confuses it with calcium and adds it to your bones, fun fact).
>Didny Worl is a target
Don't forget the shit that Japan did Unit 731.
A lot of the doctors that didn't kill themselves were spared or given laxer sentences because of their research.
>I guess it would be better to die instantly in a nuclear apocalypse than suffer through the aftermath.
At least there's a chance of finding a way to survive in the aftermath. If you die, that's it.
Another fun fact; Radon was originally used int the invigorated water, which passes through the body in a couple of days without much adverse effects, but for one reason or another they also used Radium. I guess because more radioactivity = more gooder.
Tried that but had quests in my quest log that were bugging me. Finished two quests for the faggotmen and talked to preston and got a complete quest, tried to turn in the second one but he keeps trying to offer me another one.
I hate them so much I want to wipe the minutemen out.
You wouldn't think it would be that difficult through Steam, other games do it.>>128834446
>Did finding out it used to be run by a bunch of "free-the-robots" hippies ease the burn?
Not really. If I could talk to the hippie robot that was leftover and buy chems from him or something that would be pretty cool though. But still, why is it called 'Co-op'?
>/fog/ is current engaging an intelligent, scientific conversation. No waifus, no cuckposting, no hostility, just (mostly) intelligent questions and answers
Good. Good for you guys. I'm proud of you.
>not knowing co-op basically means renting
survival isn't pretty
make sure you don't raise your kids to be the kind of retards who raise kids who think nukes are solutions to anything
if i survive i'd teach my kids that eating your kids would be good sustenance
You make a valid point.
In terms of radiation accidents, the medical community realizes (and has realized for a while) that once a person reaches a certain dose of radiation, they are quite simply fucked. It's ethically dubious, but they experimented on Ouchi in every way that they thought would help, and they did gain knowledge about what was effective and what wasn't in terms of treating high-dosage radiation exposure.
>sparing eastern Oregon
Why? It's literally the worst place in the country.
Radon was thought to be the "curative" element at first, if I recall correctly. They discovered that Radium produces Radon through decay, and thus they added Radium to water to produce Radon water. Both elements and the idea of radiation were thought to be good for the body at the time.
But anon, cannibalism can spread prion diseases. Be careful.
the picture was made by communists
Obsidian puts more thought into their world-building. Now close the video.
Just killed Kellogg and got his outfit, .44 ammo and other assorted shit but not his gun. I took his outfit and his gun disappeared from his hand. Are you not supposed to get his gun? Also, just killed him with Pickman's Blade then turned him to giblets with the shredder. So satisfying!
>playing fallout 4 multiplayer
>suddenly, the feared /fog/ clan appears, consisted of all full-muscle black men
>they beat me with baseball bats, and then they beat my piper waifu to submission before brutally gangbanging her in front of my very eyes
>they leave her there, breathing heavily and nearly unconscious after countless cubic centimetres of black cum shot into her pussy, ass, mouth and all over her body
>they steal all my caps and I'm lying in the dirt, beaten and crying for my waifu
>one kneels, leans in and whispers to my ears "BLACKED"
I was considering trying for the Navy's nuclear program since it pays mad dosh and it seemed pretty interesting (If memory serves right, they give you like a $100,000 bonus if you sign on for another tour), but I don't think I could be responsible for the reactor of a ship nor a nuclear plant if I was to leave after the 6 years you sign on for.
You know what fallout 4 needs? it's own Extensible Follower Framework so I could make them sandbox. the residence thing isn't really necessary since I made Hangman's Alley my official companion hangout
>tired of everyone getting in the way when moving stuff around new settlements
>tired of everyone standing around the entrance of small interiors
I don't understand the joke. Was Star Wars filmed there?
I see now, thanks!
Nuclear incidents are next to impossible if shit is maintained properly.
In fact, most modern incidents like Chernobyl or Fukushima happened because there was no proper maintenance.
Nuclear energy is best energy.
the fucking degree of safety behind nuclear power is absurd
being reminded that people consider it unsafe makes me so mad about hippies and simultaneously piper
fuck hippies and piper
Decided to finish it anyways (thank you, YouTube, for speed controls).
He has a decent basic point, but he blabs on forever in the beginning to little actual benefit and then does not make his point effectively enough later because of it. He does not actually prove or discuss "Shandified" narrative, but, instead, a more fleshed out world. He's completely full of shit. His entire beginning is about different causes and effects and the second half is only about adding extra detail to the world. What a joke.
>lol at his not that long play time
Chernobyl happened because the design of the reactor was outdated and inherently flawed, from what I remember.
Fukushima's reactor had a pretty critical flaw too, something to do with backup cooling tanks that would read as full even if they were absolutely empty due to some engineering fuckup. Then the earthquake and tsunami happened, the fuel melted when the backup cooling system died, etc.
Just make sure the place is built properly, and you're good to go. I support nuclear power myself.
>not the battlecoat and minuteman hat
To elaborate, I believe that proper discussion of "Shandified" narrative (a stupid fucking term that isn't needed because there are already tons of discussions about it) would include something like the incredibly readily available example of Morrowind and how it lets you extensively sequence break. That would be a great example for that and everything he (attempts to) talks about.
>"Well we have at least ten warheads going to each major city and we still have some to spare, any ideas?"
>>"Let's double up on the existing targets or use them for other major installations"
>>>"How about Bumfuck Nowhere, USA?"
>"I'm promoting you to general effective immediately"
Hah, I almost feel bad for old Frosted Flakes seeing you with that minigun there. You probably tore him up in a few second, didn't you?
Hey, that's something forgivable since it's for the sake of convenience so you don't have to go through the door opening every time you want to enter the Vault.
the dots? those are targets for larger scale attacks... like russia launching or something. if you mean the fact that they are clustered around certain areas it's because those are known locations fortified against nuke attacks. cheyenne mountain, the one in the middle of the map, is a norad base. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cheyenne_Mountain_Complex
>tfw Cait sounded apalled when I wanted her to be my qt4.13gf
>Kellogg walks out with his hands up and gun in the air
>Lob a fat man at him without either of us saying a single word
So I'm a complete noob at CBBE, threw together a quick body and batch built the 2pac stuff and the honest abe combat armor.
The 2pac harness fits almost perfectly but the HA combat chest has a bit of clipping in some areas and is too large in others. However when I wear both at once, the HA combat chest is thrown even further out of proportion.
How can I make them play nicer together? Can I solve it by just editing the HA stuff?
It's amazing how one guy managed to kill off curiefags by replying whenever they posted default curies.
>metal beneath the door has huge holes on them
>yet there's no signs of it when viewed from the inside
I killed Kellogg with a headshot that blew his head into pieces, with my fully modified 10mm pistol from the beginning of the game that I had renamed "Revenge of the Old World."
Felt fucking good.
>Man, a multiplayer mod would be the best addition to Fallout 4
>everyone just uses Prototype UP77, Spray 'n' Pray, or a .308 Overseer's Guardian
Still more variety than the Destiny meta.
So what's your excuse for still playing an objectively bad game, /fog/?
I like the power armor. Feels tanky, I'll give it that.
Is there a mod out there that'll let me apply Ballistic Weave to all the game's full armours? Things like the drifter's outfit, leather coat, spike armour, etc, that take up most of your armour slots.
If not, would I be able to edit that myself in an easy manner?
You're fine. Relax.
Generally if you're currently taking a fatal dose, a metallic taste in the mouth has been reported, along with tingling and headache. Unless you live directly beside or above a nuclear facility, you're fine.
I haven't, I went back to
New Vegas. I'm just here to post about radiation.
IS THERE A MOD LIKE PLACE IN RED THAT ACTUALLY FUCKING WORKS?
HOLY SHIT BETHESDA DID YOU EVER TEST SETTLEMENTS AT ALL? HOW DID THEY NOT REALIZE HOW SHIT THIS IS?
Good choice with the knife, (though I wouldn't use /pickman's blade/, it's got some bad juju), but the chainsaw is a bit excessive.
Kellogg was a son of a bitch that deserved the pain, but not the disrespect. Try reloading and listening to his other lines.
This is why I don't get that perk or similiar equipment.
